Wow Chhowni
It's best to arrange meetups at short notices. Planning well in advance almost never really works out.
You guys seem to have enjoyed yourselves. Great! (y)

Its a moot point, both console dont allow switching controllers so yeah....
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
lol @ gimmicks being gameplay enhancing
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the other controller is $70 but it has the objectively better charging solution and has more game play enhancing features than its counterpart
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Wait DS4 can be used on batteries?
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the 'objectively' better solution is supported on both, however on one you have to pay up to $85 dollars on the basic controller to avail it :p
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
If DS4 had a AA variant, i wouldve bought that instead
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Oh well, one controller supports both methods so that automatically makes it objectively the better choice
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
they've had the option to keep DS4 in USB or BT mode while charging for a few years now, shouldn't really be an issue unless your group doesn't go into system settings at all
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Bad thing is you gotta sit around the console and get terrible latency in wired mode while tht happens
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
and on PS4s you can choose to have the controller stay in blue tooth mode while charging, so the latency you talked about is not an issue
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the good thing is you can still play while charging :p
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
We've had so many local FiFa sessions where batteries needing to be recharged in the middle of play sessioms have been nothing but a hassle
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
both have their detractors but I would warrant a guess that more people would prefer a built in battery
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
yeah and in that xbox accessory topic most people are talking about rechargable solution for their controllers too :p

it would be a point worth bringing if DS4s or even 3's were notorious (or even remotely) known for stopping to take a charge, but its not a widespread thing at all
well, im sure every time. Ds4 topic pops up on era, first thing to get bashed is its battery life lol

Well even if you prefer internal battery, DS dont give you the option so....

I have both and to me, i dont care about the charge kit.

Maybe your x360 controller was that way, and youre also the literally the rare on who say ds4 battery is fine
major aly said the same right before your messages, and shary only likes the DS3 more because its a better vibrator for his sexual needs

thats a terrible counter example, the length it lasts has nothing to do with it
it absolutely does, if something lasts a few months on a single battery, obviously it wont be much of an issue. Same reason we don't see USB powered wall clocks.. those are more of a 'set it and forget it' kind of thing, which cannot be replicated on game controllers
    Link

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
because it was a/ a hassle replacing batteries every week and b/ going out and getting more batteries after running out of them periodically
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
    Necrokiller said:
And im sure in the x360 era you wouldve felt differently so makes sense why youve changed your tune now lol
glad you brought that up, i just posted something about it, and even on 360 I switched to a play and charge kit not too long after getting one

terrible examples, TV remote batteries need replacing once every couple of months at worst, AA batteries in controllers wear out much quicker, especially if you play with full vibration
thats a terrible counter example, the length it lasts has nothing to do with it

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
as someone who spent a few months running down batteries on a 360 controller, while its not as quick as a DS3/4 charge, but AA batteries wear out pretty quickly. Maybe a couple of days of limited usage at best.
