Heloo fellow pgers.I am fed up with ptcl in bahria.I subcrived 4mbps connection 2 months ago and not a day passes with constant net disconnection.I play games on EU servers and 5 min dc is a night mare..

I got my internal phone wiring changed 5 times.Replaced modem twice.I have 4 splitters at my disposal.Got mdf pair changed 5 times and port 2 times ..Still i get disconnections and snr fluctuations with HEC errors all the time..Here is my current dsl stats

The point is even at 11 snr i am getting promised speed. My snr normally is around 30 and it disconnects even on those stats.Snr drops too low so the dsl ligh vanishes and i cant do anything.Bahria exchange people are ***holes impotent brats. The only reason i am trying so much to get this issue resolved is becauseuz i get the bets latency on PTCL and i am really disappointed with their services in bahria.Heck their line are still on copper.

So i am thinking of unsubcribing ptcl and lf new isp's who give good latencies for gaming. Please advise me in this regard

hahaha..there is no isp better than peetcl in pakistan whose low latencies are stable and has a dedicated connection...only a pricey corporate level connection provides better internet than ptcl and thats a nightmare for any online gamer in pakistan who is at the suffering of ptcl.
although i use a connect cablenet but their internet is not stable...latencies climb up and down from 50-500ms in no time which is ridiculous. but if online gaming is not a concern its working well and is much cheaper. However the cable guy told me that if i get a 2k worth 4mbps connection the story will be different which i dont trust in terms of latency coz that guy dont know nothing about latency..he might be giving a full 4mbps or lesser shared connection and thats all..in short using a cablenet is like 8 users using a ptcl connection at the same time...latency will be shit all the time climbing up and down madly so theres no option other than keep trying to fix ur ptcl connection.
PS: i were also a wow gamer quite a long time...faced ptcl troubles for long but finally stopped playing the game and downgraded my 4mbps to 1mbps limited and now using connect internet as main...just stop playing this shitty game if ur net is not working ull only suffer...actually ptcl is saving ur life i wud say :p

Hi,

I like your creativity peeTCL :p yet to see a satisfied customer of them. I guess for the time being there's no better service provider but NayaTel is offering 5 Mbps unlimited package Home 35GB Plus | SmartChoice .
Haven't heard of their quality but its the option though I find their setup and installation charges a bit hefty.
Good luck.

Phase 3.Actually there lines are so shityy i am incurring packet loss of 30%
Phase 3 still isn't as bad as mine.

Phase 1's lines are horrible.
Shitty ass ONU had a major malfunction about a year back, telephone and internet have never been the same since.
Call quality is crap, the tone stutters and there's noise in the background.

My SNR is fine when the internet is working but if the internet DC's, then it drops down to 20-30ish from 400.

If I use the internet, phone sounds like shit. If I use the phone, internet DC's.
So if I require the internet for something very important, and some annoying relative calls.
I'm basically screwed for the next half an hour to try and get the internet working.

Complain to 5730099 for disturbance in phone line (even if there isn't).
Then you might get a call from the Bahria exchange, next to the graveyard.
The number will be 573000x, last digit can be anything. They have multiple lines there.
Tell the guy that your phone is okayish, but your internet is practically unusable.
Let him do the work for you then.
When your phone line is clear, they do some magic at their end and the internet works.

That's how I did it, until the ONU in my street just f***** up.

Bahria Town has an exclusive (illegal) contract with PTCL. They are not allowing any other ISP to enter their area. Nayatel has been trying to negotiate with them for two years now. They are not letting them come in.

There are similar arrangements with PTCL where I live i.e. Askari 13, Askari 14

Is it only Nayatel they're trying to fight with?
Wi-Tribe, Wateen and Qubee are available. (regardless of whether their service is good or not).

And also, Safari Villas is part of Bahria Town, why do Safari 1 and 2 have Nayatel and other ISPs as alternatives?
BT management is f***** up.

Safari Villas is a separate entity, and is considered more of a project of BT. Also the guy who gave permission for Nayatel is someone else. For BT, Nayatel has to deal with another guy (an ex-PTCL vet) who is adamant of not letting them in. In fact, after covering Safari Villas 1-2, they are not being given permission to enter BT and cover SV 3.

As for the Wireless offerings, those remain to ensure no ISP can sue them for their deal with PTCL. If you really want Nayatel, head to DHA since I heard they are currently negotiating with Nayatel.
