WHAT IS IT?

Cyber Crime bill, that has been approved by National Assembly’s standing committee on Information Technology, is now likely to be presented in National Assembly for approval to soon become a law of the land.

Once passed in National Assembly, the cyber crime bill will become a law and would be used against any Pakistani within Pakistani boundaries for prosecution.

• This law will take away freedom of speech, social media posting, memes and opinion.

• If you post a funny picture of something on the internet and someone doesnt like it and reports it... YOU WILL PAY A FINE OF 750000 PKR AND YOU WILL GO TO JAIL FOR 7 YEARS.
  
  
• If you post a funny tweet about the government, you will be charged as a terrorist and YOU WILL PAY A FINE OF 750000 PKR AND YOU WILL GO TO JAIL FOR 7 YEARS.
  
  
• Publishing a Picture of Nawaz Sharif can Fine you with up to Rs. 1 Million
  
  
• Publishing a Meme on Facebook can Fine you With Rs. 1 Million
  
  
• Spamming Can Cause You a Fine of Rs. 1 Million <--- you make a group of friends on your phone, send 30 people a joke... you will be charged as
  spammer.. YOU WILL GO TO JAIL.
  
  
• According to the bill, Police DOES NOT need a warrant or a plausible cause to arrest you.
  
  
• Political criticism and political expression in the form of analysis, commentary, blogs and cartoons, caricatures, memes, has been criminalised.
  
  
• 'Obscene’ or ‘immoral’ messages on Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms, have been made offenses without defining obscenity or immorality; thus, giving sweeping powers to investigating agencies to implicate anyone on these charges.
  
  
• Posting of photographs of any person on Facebook or Instagram, without their permission is an offence.
  
  
• Sending an email or message without the recipient’s permission will become an offence.
  
  

And these are not even the worst part of the bill.

This bill will MAKE SURE everything you do online is controlled, monitored and you will be "disciplined" by legal action WITHOUT ANY Abuses will lead to ban REASON.
