Clearly the best podcast of the season on nearly all fronts, especially from a technical viewpoint. Unlike a few people, I do not at all feel that the long length of the podcast is an issue. Job very well done everybody, and I for one enjoyed the entire panel this time around.
I am AMAZED by Chandoo's response covering a company's instinct to milk profits alone. I beg to differ; I doubt that we live in the old times where corporations were focused on profits alone. Come to think of it, the game sharing policy (revised) continued to boost sales and it would only have helped SONY further. Thanks for informing him of the revised game-sharing policy (2 share slots instead of 5 which was clearly SONY's way of tackling with abusers he spoke of), NaNoW.
Now NaNoW's response to the second question where he agrees with Chandoo that it (NaughtyDog this time) is after all a company so it is justified to NOT be 'ethical' per se and milk a series AND the fact that Shyber didn't refute this considering he was present kinda baffles me. It's a corporation means it owes its customers more respect for its own sake. Cmon, what happened to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and other more comprehensive governance codes these entities are supposed to follow?
You guys have to play it these days to believe it. I regularly play with around 3 other players from PG and we always have to put up with all sorts of annoyances (hackers with unlimited health, ammo), connecting issues, black screen, freezes, game disconnections etc.).
I am sorry for typing a long lecture here but I thought I'd still make my point and just had to congratulate you guys for making this so much better than before. Keep it up.
PS: NaNoW, no matter what pre-conceived ideas people have about the Oculus Rift I am with you on your point about it..for now.
