Playing on ultra hard mode for 1hr, need some good tips :)
Spam the dodge button. Hardpoint arrow + target the weak parts. Stealth takedown is useless because you can't kill in one go and you only end up alerting nearby enemies.

Ultra hard was added for NG+. Start with Hard or Very Hard for somewhat of a challenge. Game is piss easy on Normal.

Yes, why are you playing on Ultra hard for your first time through lol. Play on normal.
So can i change to very hard in the middle of the game?

Played for 2hrs and doing nothing but stealth kills without alerting nearby enemies. I guess you are right i should change the setting to very hard if it's possible to change in the middle of the game.

Yeah, I don't know what Nercokiller is on about. Normal/Hard it is almost always an instant kill for the Watcher robots, unless you're stealthing the bigger robots.

Also, I'm personally against starting a new game on anything but normal, enjoy the game the developers meant you to. Horizon is more about the world building than the combat, so that's what I would recommend. After beating the game normally, then I replayed and beat it in Ultra Hard for the platinum.

Also, if you have an HDR TV, do play in HDR. Especially when you get to The Frozen Wilds DLC. It is the game that made me become an HDR believer (when a game offers a good solution).

Throw it in the trash bin.
Play Senuas Sacrifice with your setup!

Wish I could throw this post in the trash bin.

@Chandoo can i change difficulty setting in the middle of the game?
Yes, you can change. But I'm not sure about Ultra Hard. That was introduced in NG+ and may be one of those settings which locks you in once you begin.

However I know for a fact that you can change between Easy/Normal/Hard/Very Hard in the settings in the middle of your game too.

You're probably not exposed to different machines yet. Later on combat will turn into gang bang of different types of machines. When you encounter medium or big sized machines the stealth abilities wont be useful even if you upgrade them, specifically Silent strike. You can't one shot kill them and you have to finish them off before they leave the Stun state. In that matter of time, nearby enemies are alerted too. Moreover, the canned animations has no i-frames, which leaves you open to attack from other machines. Basically, I didn't find stealth viable at higher difficulties.

Also, Zero Dawn not about combat but world building... lolwut

Donno i m lost!!
i am pretty sure this game can be platinum'ed without ultra hard replay. i remember my platinum was unlocked in a single playthrough with some planning

the game is very easy in normal though. first timer should start with at least hard difficulty.

Platinum without ultra hard but they added a few more trophies after the fact. NG+ and Ultra Hard completion are separate, I misspoke about it being required for platinum. I meant 100%.

Y Horizon is more about the world building than the combat, so that's what I would recommend.
Na kar Chandoo, I am probably one of the biggest fans of HZD on this forum but this game is more about combat than world building.

@TheGoldenTouch, I played the game on the highest difficulty at launch ( I think it was very hard) and honestly for me it was the perfect mix. I usually do not play games on higher difficulty but this was one game that i loved playing on the hardest mode. Once the NG+ mode came out, i tried the ULTRA difficulty but it was a bit too hard for me so i would recommend Very Hard or Hard for this game. Also forget that lousy melee combat and instead try to use the ranged combat every time to enjoy the game at its best.

So ultra hard came after NG+, i mean it was not available at launch. Chandoo Yes, you can change difficulty in the middle of the game, now i am playing on very hard and enjoying every single moment.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I never play a game in higher than normal on the first try. I did go back and finish it on UH later.

[h=1]Horizon Zero Dawn: more than 10 million copies sold lifetime[/h]

[h=2]Guerrilla’s hit is squarely in the company of Breath of the Wild[/h]

Horizon Zero Dawn celebrated its second birthday today with this announcement: It has sold “well over” 10 million copies since its February 2017 launch, placing it in the company ofThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which has also hit eight figures in sales in a similar time.
That is quite a return for Guerrilla Games, whose wagon had been hitched to a Killzonefranchise that last published with the PlayStation 4’s launch. Horizon Zero Dawnis the Sony studio’s first new intellectual property since Killzone, though 2013’s Killzone: Shadow Falldidsell well (more than 2 million copies in its first two months).

On the PlayStation Blog, Guerrilla Games shared highlights from the game’s development and launch. Horizon Zero Dawn was first announced at E3 2015; Guerrilla began working on it back in 2011, and first mentioned the new project in 2014.
Horizon Zero Dawn was among our top 10 games of the year for 2017. Hermen Hulst, the managing director of Guerrilla Games, reminisced about attending the 2017 Game Developers Conference and waiting for its launch that Tuesday. When Guerrilla was back in San Francisco a year later, the game took Best Technology honors in the 2018 Game Developers Choice Awards.

GG Guerilla Games.

Lesson is to not make anymore killzone games in the near future and focus on Horizon as your primary franchise.

A free to play Killzone BR game with Killzone 2's MP classes might not be such a bad idea. Just sayin' yo :p
Ahhhhhhh the good old Killzone 2 MP days... TBH this really would be a great idea. I am one of the few that actually love the slow and heavy nature KZ's combat in MP compared to other FPS games. A BR game would be really interesting.
