Recently got the time to pick up the game, had been on my to-do list since launch.

Start is not something to write about, but then as the story unfolds and you grasp the basics of hunting things start to get immersive. The game is a visual master piece, I read previously about the game being compared to Witcher 3 yeah there are a few gameplay mechanics like the scent/focus thing but Horizon's world feel pale in comparison to the lively world of Witcher 3. I haven't able to play much (still haven't made out of Mother's Heart, just defeated the first Corrupter), the world feels lifeless in comparison to Witcher 3's world ..so far. Side quests good variety but again lifeless in comparison to Witcher 3, the world seems huge but considering there is a limited arsenal of weapons and armor I am guessing the loot too is limited to finding parts and a few occasional items like the metal flower, as in Witcher you have plenty of loot variety with Potions, powers and gear. With such a limited loot variety exploration gets a bit dull, so far I haven't been able to find any good loot besides parts. Does it stay the same throughout the game? Or the loot system improves ahead.

Machines AI is great, some of them can give you a real challenge. Pacing apart from the slow start has been good, first you get to know and take down the Watchers and then a couple more of'em just when it starts to get tiring you get introduced to the Sawtooth, then scrappers and then the Corrupter! Within about 2 hours of gameplay I had to face 3 different types which require a different strategy to take down, looking forward to what the game has to offer ahead.

Story started off slow but after the Proving grounds things have gotten very very interesting.

The weather effects are amazing, I was like stuck with three Scrappers and then suddenly it started to get darker and darker with the winds hurling and then bang it starts raining! Good Shit!

I am hoping this game will show more of its variety as I progress ahead in the story.

Woaah! you need to hold your horses here before coming to a conclusion. You have barely played 2% of the actual game. The story is going to get better and better, you just wait. The world is huge, not as huge as it was in witcher but it isn't lifeless at all? what made you said that? you haven't even made out of the mother's heart yet.

Talking of monsters... not gonna name any of them here but some really big ones are waiting for you out there. Man, everything about the game is great, the only down point would be the weapon and outfits upgrades if you're comparing it with witcher. I would suggest you keep on playing, the game is best of 2017 so far.

[h=1]Horizon Zero Dawn’s first DLC, out this winter, may bring Aloy to a deadly supervolcano[/h]

[h=2]Explore the icy North just in time for winter[/h]

Horizon Zero Dawn’s first major expansion, “The Frozen Wilds,” will lead protagonist Aloy northward to beautiful — and violent — territory on Nov. 7.
According to a teaser trailer shown at E3 2017 in June, most who dare to explore the northern regions go to hunt the unique and deadly machines that dwell there. Aloy, however, seeks “answers” and intends to reach an unstable mountain guarded by a terrifying monster.
The deadly mountain in “The Frozen Wilds” Guerilla Games/Sony Interactive EntertainmentBecause the main game takes place in the Colorado area of the Rocky Mountains, that puts “The Frozen Wilds” in post-apocalyptic Wyoming, around what was once Yellowstone National Park. The shot in the trailer of the Grand Prismatic Spring seems to confirm this.
This means that the mountain players will visit could be a breached part of Yellowstone’s ancient caldera, a tremendous underground magma reservoir. Scientists have theorized that an eruption of this “supervolcano” would spew toxic ash for thousands of miles.
“The Frozen Wilds” will debut on PlayStation 4 at a price point of $19.99, but you can pre-order it now from the PlayStation Store for just $14.99.

[h=1]Horizon Zero Dawn gets easier ‘Story Mode’ difficulty[/h]
[h=2]Leisurely stroll through Guerrilla Games’ open-world adventure[/h]

A new patch for Horizon Zero Dawn aims to make the game accessible to more players. As part of a patch, players will now have access to a new, easier difficulty setting that allows them to focus more on the game’s story and exploration than on combat and survival.
The aptly named Story Mode difficulty “boosts the player-inflicted damage and reduces the player-received damage considerably, making the combat encounters manageable for less experienced players,” Guerrilla Games community manager Jeroen Roding wrote on thePlayStation Blog.
“It is our hope that the new difficulty setting will help us welcome more players into Aloy’s quest to discover her identity and the mysteries of the world she inhabits,” Roding said.
Patch 1.32 follows the recent release of another difficulty setting for Horizon Zero Dawn: Ultra Hard. Guerrilla gave players the option to fight against smarter, tougher enemies inHorizon Zero Dawn with patch 1.30 in July.
The game’s latest patch also fixes a handful of bugs, which you can read about in Guerrilla’s patch notes.

Horizon has some of the best free post-game support in the last few years. I can only imagine how many things new have been added since I played the game in it's launch window.

I'll definitely be playing it once before the DLC comes out.

Fooking finally. The second last encounter-scenario is absolutely bat shit insane on Ultra Hard difficulty. But it was all worth it. The wait for Frozen Wilds intensifies !

Also 2 more from the new photo mode just for giggles .. this was my first time playing the game since launch and all the new quality of life improvements (like menu selection for multiple items to sell at once) made it a very pleasant experience.

now u r in usa so i think u better consider uploading videos as upload speed must be good at your side, plus u have access to neogaf u can promote your channel or videos there too, no need to start with full walkthrough,s, u can start by putting high difficulty boss fights like recently u completed horizon on ultra difficulty, u can experiment by putting one or two videos and see the response, coz people usually like to see these type of videos, once u reached 10k views u can place ad,s on your videos ;), and who knows you can start earning soon, once again its just a suggestion and reason i m saying all this is coz you play games on steroids :muscles:

el oh el...and to think that all the rabid fanboys were defending the game at launch in this state.

At least the cheap shader trick now can compete with PS2 era water now. Not bad, GG. By the time I get around to it, maybe even the foliage will get some kind of update as well.

Not sure what the issue is, the game has been a techological tour-de-force since launch with water physics being the only thing pointed out as lacking. The game doesn't have much of a water component in the first place, besides just 1 type of enemy which you need to bait to the land to fight in the first place..

why so salty NC ? :p wait till the Frozen Wilds and we'll also experience some of the best snow tech in any game to date.
