met mimir, chopped his head off, went to freya, world serpent has moved the bridge....and on we go...the size of this game is astounding..

this might be my most favorite game ever....I am totally spell bounded...love god of war as a franchise, was skeptical of the new 3rd person camera and RPG playstyle, but what a job santa monica has done!!

This game exceed my expectations well beyond my imagination. I haven't played the first two GoW games and thought GoW3 was an okay game. But this, the fact that I went to the lengths of getting a platinum says everything.

How many of you here were able to beat the final valkyrie, Sigrun? I have been struggling with beating her.

Any suggestions for Armour or any other upgrades that might help? Right now on i am on level 8 with Ivaldi's Armour. It gets very difficult to beat Sigrun when her last 10% health remains.

Increase your Runic and Cooldown stats, and spam your Runic attacks as soon as you can. Hel's Touch is the first Runic Attack you get, I think, and it's the best one imo. It damages and stuns, giving you time to use your Heavy Runic Attack (whichever one that did the most damage). That combo does a decent amount of damage right at the start. Make frequent use of Atreus; his Runic attack with the crows was the best one iirc. Only use Rage when you're low on health, since Rage recovers health pretty fast.

The one mistake I kept making was trying to switch between the blades and axe during that fight to use either weapons special attacks.

Fight her with just the axe, dodging and parrying with a single weapon and taking pot shots when you can is the way to fight her, not rushing in.

thats exactly what I was doing, chaining runic attacks switching between axe an blades.

Anyway just finished her off with axe only with half my health remaining. Damn thats feels good. Thanks man

I had already upgraded the sh*t outta kratos but were still fetting kratos' arse whooped by sigrun. I was making same mistake chandoo pointed out. I am done with her now. Thanks.

God of War NG+ patch is live today and comes with a lot of other tweaks besides just an NG+ mode.

1. Relive the adventure of Kratos and Atreus, while keeping all of your earned equipment and abilities. Start a new game with all of your armors, talismans, enchantments, Runic Attacks, skills, and yes, even weapons. [NG+ ONLY]
2. NG+ is for everyone! Upon starting a NG+ game, you will be able to select your desired difficulty – no matter which difficulty you picked for your previous playthrough. Enemies will be levelled up accordingly, so choose the amount of challenge which suits you best. [NG+ ONLY]
3. Explore new customization options with more powerful versions of existing armors, talismans and enchantments. Collect Skap Slag, a new resource used by our blacksmithing duo to craft Perfect rarity-level gear. [NG+ ONLY]
4. Forge a handful of new armor sets for both Kratos and Atreus, including some with exciting new gameplay abilities, such as a chest piece which creates massive explosions whenever Health or Rage stones are stomped on. [NG+ ONLY]

As good as the game was, I hate these kind of collection things in games where you have to find and shoot/destroy 100 tiny things, like the AC games.

This is one of the main reasons Horizon was a really enjoyable platinum. There was little to no mass-collection bullshit. All achievements were either tied to progression, crafting or challenge. That's something that will interest me any day.

As good as the game was, I hate these kind of collection things in games where you have to find and shoot/destroy 100 tiny things, like the AC games.

This is one of the main reasons Horizon was a really enjoyable platinum. There was little to no mass-collection bullshit. All achievements were either tied to progression, crafting or challenge. That's something that will interest me any day.

To be fair, destroying the Ravens in God of War was executed well, because you could track on fine granularity where and how many you have destroyed.
But I generally share the sentiment. At least it gave me a good excuse to explore the GoW world more.
