What else is on the PS4 that can be deleted ? Metro Exodus probably an easy contender :laugh1:
Deleted the Division 2 beta since it has ended. The empty space will be used up by DMC5 :p

I do think Apex has a lot of potential, but will wait for Titans and parkour.

[h=1]Apex Legends' Octane, Battle Pass Reportedly Coming Next Week[/h]

Apex Legends will be adding a new character to its roster of Legends in short order, as the long-rumored Octane has been confirmed in a new report. The report speculates that Octane will be released alongside the game's first battle pass, possibly as a key element in promoting the purchase of that feature.
Octane was thought to have been leaked a week ago, when images of a leaked new character first appeared on the Apex Legends subreddit. While the images looked fairly convincing, there was no indication from developer Respawn Entertainment that a new Legend was in the works, and the character's abilities looked just powerful enough that they might have been the stuff of fan daydreams.

Now, however, a report from Daily Esports has confirmed the existence of Octane, and included a high-quality image of the character that is consistent with the leaked photos that had previously appeared. According to the report, that image of Octane and the character himself will be used to promote the upcoming release of the first ever Apex Legends battle pass.

That battle pass is apparently due to launch on Tuesday, March 12, according to the same report that shared the new Octane image. The community has speculated about what a battle pass for the game will entail, but as it stands now, the only thing fans have to go on is the roadmap for the first season of Apex Legends content that Respawn Entertainment first published in early February. Other details, like what the battle pass will include (aside from, apparently, Octane), its price, and how long the shelf life of the battle pass is before its replaced, all remain unknown at this time. It seems likely that Respawn Entertainment will be sharing details on the battle pass as we get closer to that feature's launch, so it's very possible we begin to learn more over the next few days.

Apex Legends has been struggling with leaks since before the game was ever launched - an eagle-eyed Reddit user actually revealed the
game's map 11 months before it released, but nobody believed them at the time. That seems to be about the only thing that Respawn Entertainment has had trouble with, though, as Apex Legends has already passed 50 million players across all its platforms in just a month after its release. There's clearly a lot of demand for new content, and as the game's roster and features continue to expand, there's no reason to expect its playerbase to do anything but follow suit.

[h=1]Apex Legends’ first balance patch sets its sights on the Wingman and the Peacekeeper[/h]

[h=2]Two of the game’s most popular guns are getting hit with nerfs[/h]

Apex Legends has been out for just over a month now and developer Respawn Entertainment has released the game’s first real balance patch. While the patch didn’t change much about the game it did nerf two of the most popular weapons, the Wingman and the Peacekeeper.
The Wingman, which was the go-to weapon for most Apex Legends players, now shoots slower, is less accurate when fired from the hip, and does less damage with the Skullpiecer mod equipped:
Rate of fire reduced from 3.1 -> 2.6 shots per second.
Skullpiercer Headshot damage multiplier reduced from 2.5 -> 2.25
Increased base hip fire spread and decreased the rate at which hip fire spread decays (shrinks back down).
The Peacekeeper, Apex Legends’ pump shotgun, also received a nerf, though it isn’t too significant. When the shotgun bolt attachment is used on the Peacekeeper it doesn’t reload quite as quickly as it used to.
Shotgun Bolt rechamber rate has been reduced for the Peacekeeper only.
Level 1 mitigation 10% -> 7.5%
Level 2 mitigation 20% -> 13%
Level 3 mitigation 25% -> 16%
The two guns also got some larger nerfs in the form of reduced availability. Now both the Wingman and the Peacekeeper will spawn less in loot zones of all tiers. But, this patch’s changes weren’t all nerfs, as Respawn also elected to include more energy weapon spawns and ammo throughout Kings Canyon.
Respawn also mentioned how it plans to deal with Apex Legends patches going forward as well. Rather than frequent updates, Respawn will update Apex Legends less often with rigorously tested balance changes. The patch notes also mention a few changes that Respawn says it is still testing, but are likely to release when Apex Legends’ first season starts. The largest of these changes are a few nerfs to the best performing Legends in the game — like Bangalore and Wraith — and buffs to the game’s bigger Legends to help counteract their over-sized hitboxes.
The Peacekeeper and Wingman changes are already live in Apex Legends, but there’s no word on when season 1 will begin. It’s expected sometime later this month.

[h=1]Octane is Apex Legends’ first new character: Here’s what he can do[/h]

[h=2]Octane can trade health for speed[/h]

Apex Legends is getting a new character named Octane, developer Respawn Entertainmentannounced on Monday. The character — Apex Legends’ first post-launch Legend — will be released alongside the game’s season 1 “Wild Frontier” battle pass on March 19.
While Octane’s abilities aren’t yet visible on the game’s official website, Sony’s PlayStation Blog gave us a preview of what the character can do. Most of Octane’s abilities are built around his health. His tactical ability allows him to move faster than normal, but costs a percentage of his health to activate and only lasts a few seconds. To offset this, Octane’s passive ability grants him healing whenever he isn’t being shot at, allowing him to slowly gain back the health he has either lost or spent.
Octane’s ultimate ability is called Launch Pad. He can throw launch pads on the ground that allow anyone to boost into the air. You can even get an early preview of the launch pads by checking out the ones that Respawn placed just outside of the Market location late last week.
It’s unclear how players will be able to unlock Octane. Previous Legends were available for 12,000 Legend Tokens each, or around $8.50 if you’d rather use real money. However, it’s possible that Octane will be given to everyone as soon as the new season launches.
Octane will be released along with Apex Legends battle pass on the first official day of season 1, March 19.
Update: According to a tweet from Jay Frechette, community manager at Respawn Entertainment, Octane will be available to unlock for Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins (about $7.50). In other words, he works the same way that Caustic and Mirage do; Apex Legends players won’t need to purchase the battle pass in order to use Octane.

[h=1]Apex Legends patch resets account progress, Respawn shuts down servers[/h]

[h=2]The patch was intended to fix bugs, instead it reset players’ progress[/h]

Apex Legends’ latest patch is here, but it came with a few issues. The update released on Wednesday, version 1.1, was supposed to introduce a few quality-of-life changes to the game and a few outstanding bugs. Instead, it reset some players’ account progress entirely.
After early reports of this bug, Apex Legends’ official Twitter account noted that it was a known issue, but developer Respawn Entertainment took no further action at the time. As more reports of the bug surfaced, Respawn said at 1:40 p.m. ET that it had begun to shut down some of the game’s servers in order to perform maintenance and try to fix the issue.
In the meantime, Respawn has recommended that players who are still in-game refrain from buying or crafting any cosmetic items in hopes of avoiding the bug. There’s no word yet if the developer will be able to roll back accounts and restore lost progress, but Respawn said that it will update players when it has found a solution to the bug.
The patch itself is relatively small and contained a few minor bug fixes as well as some behind-the-scenes anti-cheating measures. The biggest feature of the patch is the addition of an option that allows you to party up with the squad you just played with. This feature serves as a way to let players queue back up with strangers they’ve met in-game.
For a full look at all the changes that came with this patch — or if you’re looking for something to read while the servers are down — here are the full notes for Apex Legendspatch 1.1.

[h=2]QUALITY OF LIFE[/h]
  • Added the ability to party up with the last squad you played with. After the match you will see buttons in the lobby that display the last two people you played with and can invite them to your squad.
  • Additional behind-the-scenes improvements for squashing cheaters.
  • Added Mute button during the intro and Legend selection.
  • When using the Report Player button for PC, you now have the option of selecting Cheat or Other.
Made small improvements to the UI for customizing Legends.

Running out of memory.
CPU errors best explained by overclocking/overheating.
  • Added better collision to the turrets on Supply Ships.
  • Stability fixes to all platforms.

[h=2]BUG FIXES[/h]
  • Fixed issue where the Battle Pass rewards page would not have a default item selected, resulting in a mostly blank page.
  • Fixed bug for PS4 and X1 where sometimes attempting to use a keyboard to chat could cause a fatal script error.
  • Fixed bug with Banner Cards not showing up during and at the end of a match.

[h=2]JUMP PAD PHASE WALK INTERACTIONS[/h]
  • Octane’s Jump Pad no longer affects players when using Into the Void ability.

[h=1]Apex Legends patch turns Caustic and Gibraltar into real tanks[/h]

[h=2]Gibraltar and Caustic are getting buffs as big as they are[/h]

Apex Legendslatest patch is here, and it’s full of balance changes. While Respawn has taken a slower approach to adjusting the game so far, it seems the developer is finally comfortable making more substantial adjustments.
The standout changes in this patch address the hitbox issues that players have had with Caustic and Gibraltar since the game’s first few weeks. While Respawn attempted to correct the problems in a previous patch with updates to the characters’ physical hitboxes, they remained the easiest characters to shoot. Now, Respawn is taking a different path to help make Caustic and Gibraltar more viable: turning them into tanks.
Instead of making them smaller, and hoping that fewer bullets hit them, Respawn is giving Caustic and Gibraltar a new passive ability called Fortified. The ability reduces damage taken by 10 percent. Along with this passive, Gibraltar is also getting a buff to his shield. For Caustic, the buff is a little more substantial: Instead of his gas canisters doing 1 damage per poisonous tick, they’ll now do 4.
Also arriving in this patch are a few weapon changes that may completely shift the game’s gun hierarchy. Weapons like the Wingman are getting nerfed, again, while snipers are getting some major buffs in accuracy, fire rate, and magazine size.
Lastly, Respawn is starting a new event to give players a little extra progress on their Battle Passes. From April 16 to April 18, players’ first top 5 finish of each day will grant one full Battle Pass tier. This should help players upgrade their passes quicker, and help out with the frequent complaints of the Pass’ slow leveling.

[h=1]Respawn: Apex Legends will stick to seasonal updates to improve quality, avoid crunch[/h]
[h=2]CEO Vince Zampella and producer Drew McCoy address Apex Legends’ update cadence[/h]

Developer Respawn Entertainment says it wants to “reset our commitment” to fans of its free-to-play shooter, Apex Legends, in the wake of criticism about the game’s update cadence. But executive producer Drew McCoy stressed in an update on the game on Thursday that our goal isn’t, and never has been, to patch or update content on a weekly basis.”
Fans and critics alike point to the absence of regular new content as part of the reason thatApex Legends has seemingly lost its momentum. Both its player base and its ranking on Twitch have dropped precipitously over the past few weeks. According to TwitchMetrics, viewership is hovering somewhere around 20,000 on average, down from a high of more than 357,000 in February. The game currently sits ranked at No. 14 on the streaming platform, well behind its direct competitor, Fortnite, which is a lock in the top slot.
McCoy’s comments about the speed at which Respawn is adding new content echo statements from Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella, who recently said that the studio is focusing on seasonal updates, improving the game, and avoiding crunch at Respawn.
Earlier this week, Vince Zampella appeared onstage for a live interview at the annualGamesBeat Summit. Asking the questions was Ted Price, the CEO of Insomniac Games. The entire exchange is available as part of a lengthy clip on YouTube, starting around the four-hour-and-32-minute mark.

During the interview, Zampella said that his team was caught by surprise when Apex Legendstopped 50 million players in its first month of release. Since then, he said, the focus has been on improving the stability of the game. Then he turned to the topic of additional content.
“We’re still figuring out internally what the cadence of content has to be and how we support it,” he said. Going forward, his plan is to “put the focus back on those quality-of-life issues before we start to build more content.”
“I think that’s important,” Zampella stressed. “If the game’s not working for everybody, then it’s not fun for everybody.”
Thursday’s blog post by McCoy reiterated Zampella’s position. He wrote that the team is focusing on topics like server performance, audio issues, hit registration, and cheating. He also emphasized that a major internal concern is preventing burnout for the game’s small development team.
“We know that, in addition to addressing issues with the game, everyone is hungry for us to add new content,” McCoy wrote. “The studio culture that we’ve worked hard to cultivate, and the health of our team are very important. We take those things into account when we discuss our content roadmap, the production schedule, and the frequency in which we can update the game. Our long-term goal is to ensure Apex Legends always feels alive and thriving, with a focus on quality of content over novelty or speed of release. At the same time, we want to maintain our culture as a development team and avoid crunch that can quickly lead to burnout or worse.”
The topic of burnout also came up during Zampella’s interview at GamesBeat Summit.
“The thought was, ‘Hey, we kinda have something that’s blowing up here, do we want to start trying to drop more content?’” Zampella said. “But you look at quality of life for the team. We don’t want to overwork the team and drop the quality of the assets that we’re putting out. We want to try to raise that.”
Respawn’s unified stance against crunch stands in contrast to reports from inside Fortnitedeveloper Epic Games. Employees there told Polygon that a culture of overwork has taken hold, and that burnout is on the rise.
Of course, Respawn has quite a few irons in the fire at the moment. Earlier this month, it unveiled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a third-person melee-action game set during the fall of the Old Republic. McCoy stressed that the team working on Apex Legends would not be retasked for other projects, and vice versa.
“Regarding other games in development at Respawn, it is important to understand that there are entirely separate development teams working on Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” said McCoy. “Additionally, in order to fully support Apex Legends, we are pushing out plans for future Titanfall games. No resources from the Apex Legends team are being shifted to other titles in development here at the studio, nor are we pulling resources from the team working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
“We know we have a lot of work ahead of us,” McCoy concluded, “but we’re up to the challenge and are looking forward to building Apex Legends to its full potential together with our players.”
McCoy said that more information on Apex Legends, including details on its second season, would be revealed at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles.

[h=1]Apex Legends is probably headed to mobile[/h]

[h=2]EA also hopes to bring the game to China[/h]

Apex Legends is already this year’s biggest new battle royale game on PC and consoles, and it looks like Electronic Arts wants to carry that success over to mobile devices. During the company’s fourth quarter earnings call on Tuesday, the publisher mentioned that it is actively working on bringing Apex Legends to mobile platforms as well as the Chinese market.
“We are in advanced negotiations to bring Apex Legends to China and mobile, and we will update you on time frames when those negotiations are concluded,” EA said during the call.
Also in this earnings call were a few mentions of just how successful Apex Legends has been for EA so far and what fans can expect for the game’s future: “Apex Legends is easily the fastest-growing franchise we’ve ever had, and we hope to build a live service that entertains players for years to come,” EA said.
While Apex developer Respawn Entertainment has been largely quiet about updates over the last couple of weeks, we did get a bit of new information on when to expect news on that front as well. According to the call the content that players can expect from Apex Legends season 2 is going to be a primary focus of the EA Play event which will be held in June.
This is the first time that EA has talked about a potential mobile version of Apex Legends, but the idea isn’t shocking. Both PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds andFortnite, two of the most popular and well know battle royale games, have both done well on mobile and open both games up to a much wider audience. It’s unclear if Apex Legends’ mobile version will be directly connected to the console versions of the game, like Fortnite, or if it will be a different version of the game, like PUBG. Either way, with the announcement of new content just a month away and a mobile version somewhere on the horizon, it’s clear that EA is invested in the ongoing success of Apex Legends.
Respawn previously brought the Titanfall franchise — which Apex Legends is based on — to mobile devices with Titanfall: Assault, a real-time strategy game, and Titanfall: Frontline, a card game that was canceled while in beta testing.

[h=1]Apex Legends ‘piggy-backers’ face temp bans, Respawn says[/h]

[h=2]Some say they’re playing honestly, fear they might get punished[/h]

A community manager for Apex Legendsyesterday identified a new behavior that can get you a temporary ban: Piggy-backing, which is basically hanging around a squad of good players, doing nothing, and still collecting XP to level up. It’s sparked a debate of how Apex Legendsrewards XP in the first place.
First, here’s what piggy-backing is: “When a player drafts off other players in the squad to carry them to a good position and level up faster but doesn’t actually participate in the match [meaning they never collect a weapon, fire a shot, don’t deal any damage, etc.]”
Respawn’s community manager said the studio has examined telemetry from Apex Legendsmatches and determined that they’ll issue temporary bans “for players that exhibit piggy-backing behavior,” with permanent bans possible for extreme cases. As it relates to squadmates, piggy-backing seems to be something that goes on with or without others’ help, so it’s not like they can be identified or sanctioned as a booster or other cheat assister would.
Some players were quick to say Respawn falls well short of other solutions that would either discourage piggy backing, or even make it functionally impossible. For example, piggy-backers now put on notice will figure out some minimum level of participation to avoid a ban. “Matches will still be ruined, and you might have a chance to falsely temp ban players,” said one.
They reasoned that players need to be able to report teammates for this sort of behavior. Others went further and said that Apex Legends’ XP schedule rewards piggy-backing, which is why people do it.
Some suggested that reducing the XP given for surviving while increasing the XP awarded for a kill would be a good first step. Another player concurred, saying they get “three times as many points for the ineffectual, spray-and-pray damage I deliver than the critical couple revives that keep our team with two good guns blazing.”
A third noted that surviving for nine seconds rewards more XP than a revive. However, others disagreed with reducing XP for survival, as surviving is the whole point of a battle royale and players should feel an incentive to play for the win rather than charge headlong into a firefight, depending on revival specialists nearby.
Another player said they play honestly, but are so unskilled that their survival strategy is tantamount to piggy-backing under the terms described. “I suck at aiming so my only chance is to run around and survive, pot shotting guys so that other squads kill them for me,” they wrote. “This is literally the only way I have won — hey at least I’m not cheating, I just can’t aim and know it.”
And still others say this kind of cheating isn’t something they’ve seen in their matches, or at least had it meaningfully affect them. More common and blatant forms of cheating are still problems, and a report function could be abused by players who are angry or upset at others on their team.
In any case, if all you do is land and go to ground, you’ll be on Respawn’s radar, whether there’s an automated system flagging you or a human analyzing the behavior. The rest of the post deals with other issues that have been pointed out (hit registration, very slowed play/performance at the start of a match) that are being worked on and addressed in forthcoming patches.

[h=1]Apex Legends PS Plus Players Receive Free Pack of Cosmetic Items[/h]

Like a light early Christmas, Apex Legends players on PlayStation 4 have a free pack of exclusive goodies sitting under the tree. Respawn is giving away a small bundle of skins dubbed the PlayStation Plus Play Pack. This marks the second instance of this bundle with the first being offered back in February.
The surprise drop of content comes at the heels of larger shake-ups hitting the popular battle royale as of late. Apex Legends will soon find a new home on mobile where rival Fortnite has achieved massive success. Respawn’s been fighting to maintain the game’s competitive balance by implementing vigorous anti-cheat efforts. Half of the offending players have been snapped away, andpiggyback players have entered the ban hammer’s reach. Those who have stuck around have E3 to look forward to when the game’s second season will debut during EA Play. Despite this, Apex has seen a gradual decline in player enthusiasm.

Per
VG24/7, the PlayStation Plus Play Pack pack bundles two skins and two banners for Lifeline and Mirage. It also gives away two weapon skins for the Eva-8 and R-99. All four skins sport a similar purple hue with hexagonal patterns. The Play Pack can’t be redeemed in-game, nor is there any notification of its existence. Rather, you’ll need to visit the PlayStation Store and find it either in the Apex Legends game hub or in the PS Plus tab. That latter location is due to the Pack only being offered to PS Plus subscribers, a membership that isn't required to play the game.

Though a small gesture, the move could have been done to address content concerns. Players, particularly those who also play Fortnite, have criticizedApex Legends for lacking the rapid stream of updates that Epic’s battle royale regularly sees. The content of the game’s first season has been viewed as underwhelming and there hasn’t been much to hit the shooter since. Respawn has gone on record to say that they’ve actively avoided Fortnite’s crippling fast pace to avoid employee burnout.
This move can be filed under “sure, why not?” They pack a neat little gesture and, even if the skins aren’t your cup of tea, free stuff is never a bad thing. Such a move might help lure back players now that Apex Legends’ novelty has faded a bit. Though, if this was done to silence a few critics, one would have to wonder why similar free gifts aren’t being offered on Xbox and PC as well.

    So while Playing Control, I found a journal which said that a bathroom is missing in Islamabad Beurue of Control. With Alan Wake and Control seems to be connected worlds. Even our city is in the universe as well. No wonder those Trail 5 and Trail 6 are haunted.
    did you know you can see @NaNoW credited in the game too ? :p

    What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
    I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

    I usually stay away from animes. Vinland saga changed the way i look at my life, and my experiences within. I recommend every breathing human being to watch this animated masterpiece at least once fromstart to finish.
    After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.

    I absolutely hate parry and Sekiro made me love it, i hate sci fi and Mass Effect made me love it. This is the definition of genre defining experiences.

    With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
