No question bring it back, its gonna be a unque experience to this BR game :)

i;m going to play more today with a friend prolly, need that BR victory :p

plus the whole jumpmaster thingie is unqiue here too. one leader guides the team to the landing position... ofcourse one can disband but its better to land in one place. this jump master thing helps for ppl with no mic etc and playing with randoms imo. i see the game heading into a good direction, a different one from other Br games.

plus every rank up grants a pack to open just like overwatch and gives some credit for purchases in store aswell

Played a bit of it last night and i instantly noticed the lack of parkour or even no double jump too... The guns play alot like TF2 although the TTK seems to be higher than TF2. The overwatch comparisons are good imo, it is one of the best MP shooters of this generation. The game is solid in my opinion, however APEX taking precedence over Titanfall 3 kinda makes me hate this game.
Respawn and battle royale in the same sentence sets expectations and eliminating everything that made TF unique will be a disappointment. Games like these need on going and continuous support. With that said, its a good game and some mechanics like the respawn system work better than I expected. And something so simple like the ping system is implemented so well that it feels like it should become a part of squad based MP going forward. A natural evolution of the commo-rose and spot system from BF.

The visuals and art style is dull to the point of being repulsive. Feels like a cheap CoD or TF mod or something.

[h=1]Titanfall 3 Canceled For Apex Legends; New Titanfall Project Releases Later This Year[/h]

Respawn Entertainment, developer of the critically acclaimed
Titanfall series and its battle royale spinoff Apex Legends, has more or less confirmed thatTitanfall 3 was canceled so that time and resources could be put toward the latter. Of course, Apex Legends is set in the Titanfall universe and looks, feels, and to a certain extent plays like Titanfall games (sans jump jets, wall-running, and, well, Titans), but this news is still a huge blow to those who've been patiently awaiting the third mainline entry into the critically acclaimed series. Hope should not be abandoned just yet, though, as details from EA's most recent fiscal report point to another Titanfall-related project being in the works.

Apex Legends (whose very name is likely a riff on minor Titanfall series antagonist Kuben Blisk's mercenary outfit, the Apex Predators) is an incredibly polished and streamlined iteration on the battle royale formula. Originally
leaked a day before its surprise February 3 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Apex Legends excels in areas where other battle royales tend to falter thanks to developer Respawn's innovative approaches to teamwork, traversal, and spawning. While there's little room to complain about a new AAA competitor that has serious potential to shake things up for Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, there's little question of the fact that free-to-play Apex Legends - which wears its market-driven influences like Overwatch on its sleeve - is a far cry from Titanfall despite their passing similarities.

In an interview with
Eurogamer, Respawn lead producer Drew McCoy was refreshingly open about how players ended up with Apex Legends instead of Titanfall 3. Matter-of-factly, he acknowledges the perceived oversaturation of the battle royale genre and confirms that Titanfall 3 is not currently in development. Learning from the PR disaster Blizzard brought upon itself byannouncing Diablo Immortal for mobile when fans were expecting Diablo 4, McCoy says that the surprise release of Apex Legends was a carefully calculated bid to "let the game speak for itself." And it seems to have paid off spectacularly, with the game's sudden launch stirring an overwhelmingly optimistic response from critics and gamers alike. Almost forlornly, McCoy admits that he and the rest of Respawn were very aware of the kind of game they were working on and the logically negative conclusions that players would draw if given too long to judge the game prior to release, saying:

"We're doing a free to play game, with essentially loot boxes, after we were bought by EA, and it's not Titanfall 3. It's the perfect recipe for a marketing plan to go awry, so why have that - let's just ship the game and let players play."

The release of Apex Legends comes just at the end of an exceptionally dismal fiscal quarter for EA, who published both Titanfall entries and acquired Respawn back in late 2017. According to the first page of the report, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel into which EA has dug itself. The statement points to the obvious cash cow of FIFA , the heavily marketedAnthem, and the newly released Apex Legends, but it also promises investors relief in 2019 in the form of another Titanfall-related project that has yet to be formally announced. For now, it's anyone's guess what "related Titanfall experiences" fans have to look forward to this year as it's left intentionally vague. Of course, Titanfall 3 is squarely out of the question, so the end product could take the form of anything from a mobile game to a remake, or, most compellingly, it could be the Oculus VR game that Respawn in rumored to have been working on for a while now.

Overall, fans of Titanfall will have a lot to mull over as EA continues to claw its way out of a difficult start to 2019. Regardless of Respawn's future plans for the Titanfall franchise, fans luckily have the live service-focused Apex Legends to tide them over until any bigger news surfaces. Despite its inability to meet financial expectations,
we here at Screen Rant were simply enamored with the stellar campaign, breakneck multiplayer, and fascinating sci-fi universe that the previous Titanfall entry brought to the table, and it would be a massive let-down if a free-to-play battle royale spin-off like Apex Legends ultimately proves to be the final nail in the coffin for a series so beloved.

[h=1]Apex Legends roadmap shows four seasons of events[/h]

[h=2]Respawn’s concept for its first year of content includes new characters, weapons, and more[/h]

Apex Legends was surprise-launched on Feb. 4 and already has over 1 million unique players. In Respawn’s opening blitz of trailers, they showed off a gameplay deep dive. Redditors also spotted a roadmap for the game’s first year of content.
Starting in March, players will be able to purchase a battle pass for Apex Legends. This seems to follow Fortnite’s example pretty closely, with new skins and levels that can be earned only through the battle pass. These passes will run for an entire season. Season 1 runs until June, when season 2 will start. The seasons last three months, with the final season of year 1 starting in December.

Respawn Entertainment/Electronic ArtsBut new items and legends will also be coming with each season, aside from the battle pass itself. The roadmap suggests that new legends, weapons, and loot will all be added every season, which should add another layer of strategy to the ever-changing meta.
It’s currently unclear how these items will be rolled out: whether all the new content will be front-loaded on the first day of the season, or if it’ll be spread through the three months. With the first season starting in March, we should know a bit more about the plan soon.

[h=1]Origin friends list error stymies Apex Legends multiplayer[/h]
[h=2]Struggling to get online via Origin? It seems you’re not alone[/h]

People looking to hop into friendly Apex Legends squads today may run into a pretty significant issue: Origin is acting up, and it’s causing people to show up as permanently offline.
The error seems tied directly to Origin, as players are able to launch and play matches of Apex Legends, they just can’t join friends’ games, since they’re listed as being offline.
EA’s support account on Twitter mentioned the error, saying the company is “looking into it.”The account followed up several hours later, noting that there were errors with cloud saving as well.

Electronic Arts via PolygonUnfortunately, until the problem gets solved, there’s not a lot that can be done. The issues seem to be intermittent and only for specific players, so the best advice we can offer is to wait it out with Origin open, and your status may pop back online. Once it does, you should be able to play with friends, assuming they’re not suffering from the same error.

[h=1]Apex Legends Characters Bloodhound & Gibraltar Are LGBTQ Says Respawn[/h]

Respawn Entertainment's sleeper hit Apex Legends stars a small but impressively diverse cast of characters, and the LGBTQ status of legends Bloodhound and Gibraltar have now been confirmed by both the developer and EA. For fans of the battle royale genre seeking representation in a medium that's long neglected the level of onscreen inclusivity that's only recently come into vogue, Apex Legends may be the most diverse free-to-play game on the market.
This news coincides with the game, a battle royale-flavored spin-off of Respawn's Titanfall series, having quickly swelled into a major critical and financial success for the EA-owned studio since its February 4 release.Reaching 10 million unique players and amassing an impressive one million concurrent players in its first three days, Apex Legends has proven that innovation and success in the battle royale genre can be achieved in tandem and that market domineers Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 aren't infallible. As much as it's proven a boon for EA amid a self-inflicted dip in its stock value, Apex Legends has arguably been an even greater victory for players looking for a new take on battle royale that's as polished as it is strategic, with its novel respawn system, exhilarating movement, and tight gunplay.

Out of eight unique characters, or legends, EA and Respawn have confirmed that Bloodhound and Gibraltar each break with heteronormative stereotypes through external lore and interviews. EA's official
character description for Gibraltar, a "gentle giant with a wild side" who fulfills his support role with a dome shield and defensive barrage, makes mention of a formative incident in which "he and his boyfriend stole his father’s motorcycle, took it on a joyride, and got trapped by a deadly mudslide." Meanwhile, the flavor text for Bloodhound, a mysterious, Viking-inspired hunter who tracks foes with deadly precision, is the only character description offered that exclusively refers to them using "they/them" pronouns.

Bloodhound's non-binary identity was confirmed to be a conscious design choice by Respawn community manager Jay Frechette in a Rock, Paper, Shotgun interview, in which he related:
“Our studio is comprised of a diverse group of people, the playerbase of battle royale is comprised of a diverse group. Having a diverse cast is super important. You want everyone to have someone they can connect to.”
This effort to foster a sense of inclusion in Apex Legends is undoubtedly genuine on the part of Respawn, but one can't help but think that it would be more impactful for the vast majority of players if any evidence of Gibraltar's and Bloodhound's status as members of the LGBTQ community was actually present in the game itself. Instead, these fascinating looks into the characters' lives are isolated to their respective corners of the internet, wholly external to the game. While this doesn't quite resemble Blizzard's delayed reveal about Overwatch's Soldier: 76 that invited accusations of queerbaiting, it's hard to argue that the Apex Legends players who Respawn is attempting to represent would be better served by also including these revelations in-game.

Nonetheless, Respawn is taking steps in nearly all the right directions with Apex Legends so far, and this most recent effort to include players is no exception. When considering Apex Legend's quick climb to success and the game's inherent live-service model (as well as a
rumored Titanfall project coming this year), it will be will be intriguing to see how Respawn continues to put players first in 2019.

[h=1]Apex Legends Review: The New Best Battle Royale[/h]

Apex Legends may not be the Titanfall 3 some fans were hoping for from developer Respawn Entertainment but it's the best battle royale game on the market. Respawn and publisher Electronic Arts' surprise release is instead a spinoff of the Titanfall series but barely resembles the mech-heavy, wall-running game.
Instead, Apex Legends is a multiplayer-only, squad and class-based spin on the battle royale formula that draws inspirations from several other hit games, and adds to them all in player-friendly ways. Apex Legends is not only the best battle royale game currently available, but it may be one of the best free-to-play releases of all-time.

Played strictly in three-player squads across one map (called "Kings Canyon") that supports 60 players total with characters who each have their own unique abilities, right away Apex Legends differentiates itself from the competition. Its class (character) based gameplay that highlights the unique personalities and gear of each character is best compared to
Overwatch, and the game also draws its monetization strategy from Blizzard's shooter as well. When it comes to its first-person gunplay however, Apex Legends plays more like Black Ops 4's Blackout mode but with more diverse gameplay and more layers of mechanics and control, including in the game's animations.

There are eight playable characters (called "Legends") in Apex Legends at launch, and each squad member must choose differently. Two of the starting eight Legends must be unlocked through earning in-game currency or spending real-world money. Apex Legends embraces a totally free-to-play model on its platforms (Origin on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One).
[h=2]APEX LEGENDS HAS A SMARTER MICROTRANSACTIONS MODEL[/h]The game's monetization model involves selling premium currency that can be spent on (very expensive) premium character and weapon skins, and the game's loot boxes (called Apex Packs). The Apex Packs contain everything from skins, to emotes, lines of dialogue for characters, and scrap that can be used to craft cosmetics not yet acquired. The best part of this take on theOverwatch loot formula is that there are no duplicates, and the rarity levels of everything are outlined on the official Apex Legends website. In the future, there will be battle passes for seasons (taking from the Fortnite and Rainbow Six Siege playbook) that last three months where limited time cosmetics can be earned or purchased.

Eradicating duplicates is just one of the for-the-player quality of life improvements Apex Legends offers. When starting a match, there's virtually no load time, nor is there a lobby waiting area. Players get into matches almost immediately. During gameplay players can mark and highlight enemies, loot, or any point of interest on the map (a version of the marking system from Rainbow Six Siege mixed with enemy marking from Battlefield) for very welcome in-game intel sharing/communication. When picking up mods and armor, items are automatically equipped where they should be instantaneously and there's already ammo in the weapon. Every thing a player would want or imagine should happen with fundamental game mechanics, simply does inApex Legends and it just goes to show how other shooters and battle royale games are missing out on some key features.

But it's not just about improving what already works from the battle royale genre since Apex Legends adds many all-new features too. Matches are fast and usually completed in less than 20 minutes. At the beginning of a given match there's a dropship players jump from, like any other battle royale, but in this one players jump together as a squad and one player is designated the "Jumpmaster" to keep them together. Players can manually separate from the pack of course, but it's a smart change to enforce the idea that Apex Legendsis a truly a squad-based game. There currently are no solo or duo modes.

Apex Legends' game map also includes an emphasis on verticality. There are zip lines in and around the map and its hot spots, and there are balloon launching points that players can zip up to and jet away to other parts of the map. One of the playable characters can even deploy their own zip lines for the squad. These systems work well with the nicely flowing control scheme and animations of Apex Legends where players can slide down hills or mantle up to high ledges. If you see something, there's usually a way to get there, except for some of the cliff and mountain tops which are out of bounds. Did we mention that top player Legends will be displayed in-game on banners and there's bonus XP for taking out kill leaders?

[h=2]OTHER BATTLE ROYALES SHOULD LEARN FROM APEX LEGENDS[/h]Another unique element to Apex Legends is the ability to revive downed allies. Like other battle royale titles, a player is downed before being killed off and they can hold a shield item in their inventory to prevent players from shooting them to finish them off. Enemies can however, get up close an employ a lethal execution animation (these are also battler royale fists). But even then, players can recover the tags of their downed ally and bring them to a revive point where they can then re-enter the match via a dropship, but without any of their loot. These layers upon layers add so much to the dynamic of the usual die and go back to the menu style of more punishing battle royale experiences.

The game does not however, support cross-play or cross-save in anyway which is one of the lacking features for a game that uses EA servers/accounts across all platforms. Should players unlock cosmetics on one platform, they cannot use them on the other. It's a wasted opportunity that partially holds the game back from truly taking the genre to the next level like Fortnite has in this respect.
That downer aside, Apex Legends must be applauded for offering such a deep and polished experience from the get-go. Without any demo or beta tests,Apex Legends launched without a hitch and actually functions better than most full-retail triple-A online games. We can't emphasize enough how refreshing it is to have a polished battle royale game, that's also a polished triple-A online title, that's also FREE.

Respawn entertainment has also already clearly outlined its future plans, andApex Legends is designed to be modular in a way that we can see plenty of interesting events and tweaks coming. Imagine a mode with larger squads, different gear, or changes to the map. It's all possible.

Apex Legends is a wonderfully exciting and fun shooter that's easy to play but challenging to master given all of its systems and the gameplay potential they offer. There may be issues of character and weapon balancing, and for some, the long time-to-kill rate may be a turnoff, but for anyone looking to squad up with exactly two friends (again, for free), it's shocking how Apex Legends plays so much better than other games in the market.

Apex Legends
is currently available on PC (via Origin), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Screen Rant played the PC version for review.
