Sony is now refunding the digital version to PS4 owners experiencing crashes and shutdowns.

Sony is aware of the issue and is offering a complete refund on Anthem no questions asked. Took me 5 minutes.

Yup, worked easily. I just went to their support chat (had to wait about 10-15 mins in the "queue") and said this:
I made a digital purchase on 02/23/2019 of "Anthem™ Standard Edition" (transaction ID: XXXXXXXXXXX) for a total of $64.19. I'd like return it and get a refund for the game, please. The game is currently bricked, and broken. It is incredibly frustrating. I've gone through the support channels at EA to try to fix it and it is still broken. It has crashed my ENTIRE PS4 multiple times now when trying to play it. The game is broken on PS4, and I don't want to risk the game bricking my console to play it. It is a defective product. Every other game on my system is working fine. Can you help me get this returned and refunded, please?​

And they helped right away, no problem at all. Just provided some account info after that, that they needed, and then it was refunded.

Anyone reading this with a PS4 that was bricked due to Anthem, boot the console in safe mode and rebuild the database to recover it.

So apparently a reddit user did some calculations and found that level 1 guns are actually the best in the game and the 'damage numbers' you see are bullshit/false.

-With my Level 1 common Defender rifle, one bullet does 286 damage against a normal scar trooper.

-With my Level 45 masterwork Ralner's Blaze rifle, one bullet does 1184 damage against a normal scar trooper.

Given these numbers, you might (reasonably) assume that the MW weapon will kill enemies faster, since it does more damage.

This is NOT the case!

Going back to the scar troopers, the MW rifle takes 6 bullets to kill our scar friend. Given the damage numbers, our level 1 rifle should take around 5x more bullets to do the job. Guess how many it actually takes?

That's right. 4 bullets!!! Not 4x as many. Literally 4 rounds. Our level 1 rifle is somehow more effective than our level 45 masterwork, despite what our damage pop-ups are telling us.

I have tested this with various weapons and enemies, and while the numbers vary, the results are always the same: the level 1 defender rifle is by far the most effective weapon in my inventory. It melts literally fucking everything!

So, from this we can draw two conclusions:

1 - There is some buggy fuckery going on with the default level 1 rifle

2 - Damage numbers are meaningless and do not reflect the actual damage done to a target

I am replaying the trilogy at the moment. Half way through the fist Mass Effect and the game holds its ground so well even after more than a decade of its release.

I jumped straight into Mass Effect 2 as I got it for free on Origin. I'd be hard pressed to think of a well received game from that era that will feel dated now. But that has more to do with the stunted growth now than forward looking approach of these older games. The combat does feel alot more clunkier than it did back then and level design also very basic. Still a very enjoyable game on a whole though.

I get what you are trying to say here. Even with its dated design and controls I was still gripped to this game. And i think that is a testament of how good the game is.

Yep. I'm hooked again. Playing at the highest difficulty is still really fun. Vanguard ftw!

Also, I encountered a funny bug where my entire squad was suddenly recruited on its own :lol:

No visual/texture mods applied. This is the game as is.

For a game that was released 10 years ago, this looks really impressive. I'm sure the Xbox One version doesn't even comes close to this. I wish MS would have done an X enhanced version for the whole trilogy like they did for the original RDR. The original RDR looks unbelievably good after the X enhanced patch.
