MULTI Anthem redesign canceled at BioWare

BioWare’s next game is called Anthem. Electronic Arts debuted the first tease of the game today during its EA Play press conference, just ahead of the official start of E3 2017.

A full gameplay reveal will come later this week, during Microsoft’s E3 2017 briefing. That will air live on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. PT.

Details are scant for now about Anthem, which appears to be set in a futuristic world. It’s a brand new property for BioWare. Known previously by the codename “Dylan,” the game has been rumored to be in development for years.

EA previously announced that Anthem will be an action-adventure title that will work as a “live service,” similar to how games like Destiny are run. The publisher also said in May that, although BioWare’s project was originally set to launch by the end of its current fiscal year, Anthem has since been delayed past March 2018.

It will launch sometime during EA’s 2019 fiscal year.

Yeah, no, I'm gonna need to see receipts and wait a year or two (whenever they start putting out actual footage). This looked a little too good to be true. This is the same engine powering the forthcoming Battlefront II (which is being made by the studio which *made* Frostbite 3) and this looks a few generations beyond that. Definitely some trickery going on here.

the first segment was so scripted, even the camera movement was screaming cutscene. its disappointing to see a studio like bioware taking such cheap route to hype their game. the massive flop ME Andromeda must have made them desperate. i got KZ2 vides that thats saying much!

Well DICE is targeting 60fps with BFII. This is a 30fps game.

I doubt the final build will look exactly like this trailer, but 30fps target is the key differentiating factor.

alot of games drop there quality after E3 there are lot of examples of it..
but if its anything like what they shown thats totally mind blowing.

Seems similar to Crysis 3 in terms of visual aesthetics. Doesn't look so great in terms of core mechanics, especially compared to the franchise EA is trying to compete with here i.e. Destiny.

Really ? No proper SP campaign would be such a turn off to such a great looking game man. I really hope this is more on the lines of Mass Effect rather than Destiny. I dont know why is every fucking thing going co-op these days.

It's like Destiny as in always-online, shared world, shared co-op. There probably is a story to the game but don't expect epic sweeping space saga's like the ME games.

Just saw the 3GB 4K footage from Gamersyde and this certainly looks doable on the top end machines. The live stream hides the finer details. The IQ is grainy and not as sharp as youd hope from a 3GB video. Pro version will likely be compromised more and base console versions will take the biggest hit. Effects work and lighting is stellar though and the densely detailed world looks like an open world Crysis 3 meets Avatar.

Digital Foundry break down. Another Xbox X game which uses Checker board rendering. I can see this becoming a trend going forward, gives companies the '4K' bullet point for marketing with quality that even tech breakdown sources like Digital Foundry appreciate. Mark Cerny was onto something with all of his checker board rendering presentations last year.
