[h=1]Destiny 2 leads PlayStation Plus games for September[/h]

[h=2]Just in time for a new Destiny 2 expansion to launch[/h]

PlayStation Plus members are getting one of 2017’s biggest games as part of their subscription next month. Sony revealed September’s PS Plus giveaways, a list that includesDestiny 2— just in time for its new expansion to arrive.
With Destiny 2: Forsaken, the game’s latest add-on, launching Sept. 4, Sony is doing curious Destiny newcomers a favor. (You can actually grab the game for free on the PlayStation Storeright now; Sony says it wants players to get in on the 24-hour Gambit mode trial in time forits Sept. 1 launch.) At the same time, however, all players must purchase both the game’s Expansion Pass and Forsaken separately, bringing the total cost for all Destiny content to $60; that’s the same standard price as the base game on its own.
Still, no one can complain about getting a game like Destiny 2 with their PS Plus subscription. Another major franchise is represented in September’s lineup as well, with God of War 3: Remasteredoffered to members. That, alongside the other games, will be available for free starting Sept. 4.
The full list of PlayStation Plus games for September 2018 is below.

  • Destiny 2 (PS4)
  • God of War 3: Remastered (PS4)
  • Knowledge is Power (PS Plus Bonus: PlayLink)
  • Here They Lie (PS Plus Bonus: PS VR required)
  • Another World — 20th Anniversary Edition (PS3, PS4, Vita)
  • QUBE: Director’s Cut (PS3, PS4)

[h=2]October’s PS Plus lineup has a little Halloween flavor[/h]

PlayStation Plus subscribers will get access to two very different competitive multiplayer games in October: horror game Friday the 13th and retro-futuristic combat sport Laser League, both of which will be available on PlayStation 4.

Sony announced next month’s PlayStation Plus game lineup in a post on the PlayStation Blog today, leading with Friday the 13th: The Game and Laser League. But that’s not all that PS4 owners will get access to in October, thanks to a number of PS Plus titles with Cross Buy support.

The rest of October’s PlayStation Plus lineup is as follows:

PlayStation Plus subscribers can also download Here They Lie for PlayStation VR through Oct. 2 and PlayLink game Knowledge Is Power, which requires a PS4 and a mobile device, through Nov. 6. September’s PlayStation Plus games, which include Destiny 2 and God of War 3 Remastered, are still available for download.

[h=1]PlayStation Plus November games include Bulletstorm, Yakuza Kiwami[/h]

[h=2]Two great action games for PS4[/h]

November’s lineup of free PlayStation Plus games includes People Can Fly’s hyper-violent first-person shooter Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Sega’s criminal underworld action-adventure Yakuza Kiwami, both for PlayStation 4.
If you’re experiencing a tinge of deja vu right now, that’s because both titles were outed as November’s headlining PlayStation Plus games in a leak earlier this month.
The rest of November’s PlayStation Plus lineup consists of Jackbox Party Pack 2 — which includes five multiplayer party games: Bidiots, Bomb Corp., Earwax, Fibbage 2 and Quiplash XL — and Arkedo Series — which includes three “vintage-style” games: Jump!, Swap! and Pixel! — for PlayStation 3; and Burly Men At Sea and Roundabout for PlayStation Vita. Those two Vita games are Cross Buy-compatible with PlayStation 4.
Expect November’s PS Plus titles to go live on the PlayStation Store on Tuesday, Nov. 6.October’s PlayStation Plus games, led by Friday the 13th and Laser League, are available now

[h=1]PlayStation Plus games for January 2019 led by Steep[/h]

[h=2]The snowboarding game leads the pack for the year’s first set of games[/h]

Sony revealed January 2019’s set of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, including Ubisoft’s open-world winter sports game Steep.
Steep is an appropriate game for the wintry months that kick off the year; players can ride snowboards and skis, and even fly paragliders. One of the recent updates included Winter Olympic content.
For something a little warmer, Portal Knights is also available for PS4 owners with PlayStation Plus memberships. It’s another sandbox-style action game that launched in 2017 on consoles, after an early access release in 2016.
The PlayStation 3 games are particularly impressive. They are Zone of the Enders HD Collection, compiling the mech-action games produced by Metal Gear’s Hideo Kojima, and Harmonix’s rhythm game Amplitude. Subscribers can also get Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault on PlayStation Vita.
The company previously announced that it will phase out PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games from the program after February 2019. January’s options are a nice capper, at least on the PS3 front.
December’s PS Plus offerings, including the excellent Soma, are still available to subscribers; read more about them and the rest of the 2018 slate in our rundown of the year in PlayStation Plus games.

[h=1]PlayStation Plus offers Hitman, For Honor, 100 GB cloud storage in February[/h]

[h=2]It’s the final month for PS3 and Vita games for PS Plus subscribers[/h]

PlayStation Plus subscribers have a big February ahead of them. Sony will give PS Plus members 2016’s Hitman: The Complete First Season and For Honor for PlayStation 4 as part of their subscription, starting Feb. 5.
PS4 owners are also getting a big boost to their cloud storage with PlayStation Plus. Sony is increasing the limit from 10 GB to 100 GB in February.
For legacy platforms, Sony has stealth action game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriotsand meta fighting game Divekick for PlayStation 3 owners. The latter is cross buy-compatible on PS4. On PlayStation Vita, Sony will give PS Plus subscribers puzzle-tower defense gameGunhouse and arcade-action game Rogue Aces in February.
Those PS3 and PS Vita games are the last offerings for those platforms via PlayStation Plus. After March 8, PS3 and Vita games will no longer be offered as part of the PS Plus monthly games lineup.

[h=1]PlayStation Plus offers The Witness, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered in March[/h]

[h=2]It’s the first month without PS3 and PS Vita games[/h]

The Witness and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered are the lone free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in March, Sony announced Wednesday.
Modern Warfare Remastered is Raven Software’s upgraded version of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare; the remaster of the 2007 first-person shooter launched in 2016. That was the same year that Thekla released The Witness, a puzzle game from the mind of Jonathan Blow. Both of them will be available for free from March 5 to April 1 on PlayStation Plus. In the meantime, the games for February — including Hitman: The Complete First Season and For Honor — are still available.
March will be the first month since Sony started offering free games to Plus subscribers in the summer of 2010 that the lineup of titles does not contain PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita games. Sony announced a year ago that it planned to drop PS3 and Vita games from the monthly free lineups, saying, “Many of our fans are playing on the PS4 platform, with the increasingly vast number of PS4s in homes around the world.”
Until this point, Sony has typically offered six free games every month — two each on PS3, PS4, and Vita (notwithstanding cross-buy functionality). However, the company is not raising the number of PS4 titles to compensate for the loss of games from the older platforms. Sony did improve its PlayStation Plus offering this month in one way: The company increased the storage for cloud saves to 100 GB from 10 GB.

[h=1]PlayStation Plus offers Conan Exiles, The Surge in April[/h]

[h=2]Two recent PS4 games you may have missed[/h]

PlayStation Plus customers will be able to download Conan Exiles and The Surge as part of their subscription next month, Sony announced Wednesday.
Conan Exiles, an open-world survival game from Funcom, was originally released as an early access title in January 2017. Its public launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One came in May 2018. The game is perhaps most notable for allowing people to play as nude characters and own slaves.
The Surge is an action role-playing game from German studio Deck13 Interactive. Released in May 2017 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, it’s a spiritual successor to the studio’s Dark Souls-esque game Lords of the Fallen. For more on The Surge, check out our review.
Both games — the only free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, now that Sony has dropped PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles — will be available starting Tuesday, April 2. In the meantime, players can pick up the much more exciting March games: The Witness andCall of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

[h=1]Sonic Mania, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection go free on PlayStation Plus in June[/h]

The games go live June 4

Next month’s pair of free PlayStation 4 games for PlayStation Plus subscribers consists ofSonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Sony announced Wednesday.
Sonic Mania is a throwback to the 16-bit era of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, with side-scrolling platforming gameplay in which Sonic, Miles “Tails” Prower, and Knuckles are all playable. In a surprise move, Sega handed the development keys to notable members of the Sonic fan game community, including Christian Whitehead, whom the company had previously hired to handle mobile ports of 16-bit Sonic games. Sonic Mania was originally released in August 2017 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection’s appearance in June’s PS Plus lineup is a great, cheap way to catch up on the shooter franchise before the Sept. 13 release of Borderlands 3. The package, which was released in March 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, includes 2012’sBorderlands 2 from Gearbox Software and 2014’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from 2K Australia. As for the original Borderlands, 2K Games released a 4K remaster of the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One last month.
Both Sonic Mania and The Handsome Collection will go free for PS Plus members on June 4. In the meantime, the May games are still available.
