We need a thread like this.

I must admit I'm not that much into reading - I'm very picky about it and seldom do I find a style of writing that pleases me.

Just a few minutes ago I finished reading The Green Mile - oh my god, what a marvelous adventure it was! I cried for an hour non-stop while reading the last chapters. I broke off every now and then and couldn't continue. It was incredibly painful for me to read on, and the final conclusion was much sadder than I'd expected. It is brilliant, to say the least. And very illuminating as well.

I wonder if anyone else has read it? And if anyone else is into reading and stuff? I could use some recommendations actually! :blah2:

Best of Satyajit Ray

Book Description

Here finally are 21 of the very best of Satyajit Ray's short stories, available together for the first time between two covers. This collection features four new stories, translated specially for this volume. It also contains all eight stories that Satyajit Ray translated himself into English.

A interesting reading it makes. Highly recommended. All stories contain some sort of hidden message or irony.

The Hobbit

The hobbit is prelude to the epic Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins across Middle Earth as he seeks to destroy the dragon, Smaug, and claim his share in the treasure guarded by the dragon.

Angels and Demons

Among the Dan Brown books. Angels and Demons is the best. Though a little far fetched. If you are a fan of fiction and conspiracy theories do give it a try.

Funny you should mention it! My friend gave it to me this morning during school. I haven't read so much yet, only 50 pages so far I think but from what I see, it's not that hard to follow. Stephen King's style is much harder to follow IMO.

stephen king is the shit, the take away from his books lasts for weeks. i like dan brown but he's not as good as advertised, he strats off with a great idea, bores the hell outta you in the middle and tops it off with a mystifying ending. the formula's getting a bit archaic.

hell, i shouldnt complain. all the john grisham novels are retellings of the same world too.

Is pretty short and straight foward. And I have a knack for guessing the plot of the film or book long before the end. Still a good read if you borrow or issue it.

I love to read but most of the readings are of history,IR and politics.Sometimes i find my self a bit lonely with these subjects than i love to read English poetry. Now a days i am reading John Milton's "Paradise Lost":)

Finished Angels and Demons! Finally! It was a good novel, but holy moly is Dan Brown overrated as hell or what? Predictable plot, archetype characters, narration was also a bit boring at times, and Muslims DO NOT GO TO TEMPLES. Go read a history book before writing, dude ~_~. Also, the dialog is really corny, and sometimes a lot of it happens in a short amount of time which makes it unbelievable.

Oh well. Now to start on the famed Da Vinci Code.

I request that the word literature be removed from the thread title and be replaced by books for kids and dumb people. Dan Brown people ??? stephen king ?? john grisham ??? seriously jesus christ when will you sheoples develop some taste.
You people call yourselves adults ? Shame on you. Read something good for a change here i recommend this.
