NVIDIA has announced that they will be releasing a new GeForce Driver in April which will enable DXR support for Pascal GeForce 10 series and Turing GeForce 16 series graphics cards. The cards that will be supported through the latest driver would include:

NVIDIA Titan V

NVIDIA Titan XP

Titan Titan X

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660

The drvier will also support NVIDIA GeForce and Max-Q based notebooks with the respective GPUs so that’s another reason you should be excited for your Pascal graphics cards.

According to NVIDIA, while all of these non-RTX cards would indeed support real-time raytracing, the feature would be limited to Basic RT effects along with a lower ray count than what’s possible on the architecturally tuned RTX graphics cards. Features such as raytracing reflections would work fine but the more taxing effects such as raytracing based global illumination would require some serious horsepower and that’s where RTX comes in.

yeah .. no .. I don't think my laptop will make much use of this outside of running at 480p/30 FPS going by DF's 1080p results.

Which results? BFV can run at 1080p60 on a GTX 2060 with ray-tracing enabled.

RT effects will be lower precision on these GPUs that might help performance slightly. Regardless, its a nice addition to non-RTX GPUs which were never meant to support it in the first place (much like how Free-Sync monitors were made compatible with NVIDIA GPUs).

Good for those who consider RTX to offer a game changing experience. The announcement also serves as encouragement for more PC devs to support it.

They didn't have a choice in that case.

Necromunda gets DLSS support! Megaton! 😲

Also getting AMD FSR support, would be an interesting comparison between the two.

The following titles have AMD FSR support coming soon after :

  1. Asterigos
  2. Baldur's Gate III
  3. DOTA 2
  4. Edge of Eternity
  5. FarCry 6
  6. Farming Simulator 22
  7. Forspoken
  8. Myst
  9. Necromunda: Hired Gun
  10. Resident Evil Villiage
  11. Swordsman Remake
  12. Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodhunt

Really looking forward to the FSR massacre, esp after this disastrous attempt by CerebralTiger comparing a temporal upsampler with DLSS. Imagine how a spatial technique like FSR would fare :ROFLMAO:

FSR had a pretty ho-hum unveiling, lets see what it's like in practice.

DF gonna be feasting for days.
