Donkey Kong Country coming to Nintendo Switch Online in July
Two Super NES games and one NES game will be added
Nintendo is adding
Super Nintendo Entertainment System classic
Donkey Kong Country to its
Nintendo Switch Online program.
Donkey Kong Country, which was originally released in 1994, will be added to the service alongside
Natsume Championship Wrestling (SNES) and
The Immortal (NES).
These three games will be added to Nintendo Switch Online on July 15, according to Nintendo’s news release.
Donkey Kong Country is a classic favorite developed by Rare and published by Nintendo, set in the Donkey Kong world and starring Donkey Kong
and Diddy Kong.
Natsume Championship Wrestling was released the same year on Super NES, and, of course, is a “realistic” wrestling game wherein players fight inside a ring to knock each other out.
The Immortal, developed by Sandcastle and published by Electronic Arts, was released in 1990 on the NES. It’s an action-adventure game set in a labyrinth of ancient ruins.
In total, Nintendo Switch Online has 85 games available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers — the service lets players access the internet in other games, too, like
Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Other games on the platform include
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and
Super Mario Bros. 3.
Individual memberships are priced at $3.99 for one month, $7.99 for three months, and $19.99 for a year. There’s also a $34.99 option for a yearly family membership, which lets eight Nintendo accounts use the Nintendo Switch Online service.
