Sup guys,
Haven't posted in a while and might as well make this section active again. I'm looking for a new GPU; 1st hand. I found a really good 2nd 7950 but my father doesn't want me to buy a 2nd hand GPU this time :/ It's kinda hard to convince him how this GPU business works. He's just going for the "2nd hand electronics are unreliable" and stuff. To some point, he's right, but still.

My last GPU GTX460 ran for a good 3-4 years before falling victim to loadshedding. I'm not going for 1080p gaming :p I still play at 1366x768 but I like my games at 60fps. What can you suggest in the 18-19k price range. A friend suggested R9 270. Anything else you can enlighten me on?

Thanks.

You won't find r9 270 in this range ...it is in 20-22k range .... so you should go for gtx 750ti .... it was nvidia's first gpu on maxwell tech (b4 960) so it would be really power efficient plus its 4-5k cheaper and almost on the same level as r9 270 ....

Galaxy ... GigaByte Nvidia 3D Graphic Cards

in my opinion...better to get a r9 280 in 23-25k range or a slightly used one in your range ..... gtx 960 is new otherwise i would have personally recommended a used one in 20-25k range as its new price is roundabout 30k.... it consumes very less power and is super cool and silent. some complaints about its 2gb ram but for 1080p gaming it won't be a problem and you should be able to play on ultra high settings for couple of years... you would most likely be using ups for gaming so low power consumption is a real plus...

yes your father is right regarding used electronics
that gpu served you really well
my gpu also died recently

nothing better than 750ti in your range
i would prefer asus msi over gigabyte
asus is for 19k at galaxy . 2gb variant

and going from nvidia to amd, you will feel dough baked

Karachi.
750Ti is really solid and generally gives slightly better graphical (and framerate) performance than the current gen consoles.
