Processor----------------------core i7-6700----------------------------------36000
RAM----------------------------Corsair Vengeance 16Gb 2133---------------12000

Now regarding processor i saw some premium members are importing i7-6700 from Amazon etc in around 30k. ram should be like 16gb in form of 2x8gb sticks. for mobo i don't think there is a need to purchase a better mobo than this but maybe if your friend wants to move towards SLI option then maybe b150 is good for him. regarding gpu i tried to find a 6gb/8gb version of 1050 or any similar mobo but i was unable to purchase one in pakistan. also it would be great if you import it from amazon becuse i saw some members are importing 1060 in a very good price. next is hdd and ssd i think you need to purchase a ssd so there is no bottleneck in loadings etc from disk speed. a used 256gb ssd can easily be purchased in around 5-6k but a new one from corsair with 550mbs read/write is available in 5600 on czone which i think is good. casing will be your own choice but Corsair carbide 100R looks good to me in 5k. on powersupply you can not compromise on a pc that will be in running condition most of the time so a Gold rated TR2 series 600w will be the best choice for you. you can choose a casing with good cooling so that you don't have to worry about it yourself. but i think in 100k this sort of system will be good for working on stock.

yeah there is a little difference between my thinking and what you have choose. you are right, you can choose normal rams and go for 1060 6/8 gb version but don't go for 3gb version.

No that person isnt into overclocking and sli so that out of equation
should we go for Gaming rams as they dont make world of difference

i do wanted to add SSD but i think for editing work it requires lots of space to keep footages and files so i would prefer 2TB let see if we can get both SSD and 2 TB HDD and i wouldnt recommend buying SSD in used they tend to fail after sometime so getting new one is better and i wouldnt wanted to be the person to get blamed for getting that product :laugh1:
well it will be big trouble for him to deal first time in PG and he would prefer getting Processor from market with warranty to have peace of mind as i am not in Pakistan i cannot help him buying from PG
so i guess this what we can get now
ASUS GTX 1060 DUAL 6GB-192BIT-GDDR 5 CORE CLOCK 1809MHZ MEMORY CLOCK 8008MHZ - DISPLAY PORT (DUAL-GTX1060-O6G)

36000

I have asked him he can stretch the budget 1lac 10k and thats about it
so what is the final qoutation you think will be

Gud processor
Gud GPU
More Ram
and More Space is what is required for such workstation we can save on other departments but these item shud be good

For SSD, you should buy new one. Used storage product is much of a gamble. Samsung or hyperX or may be Zotac are good one. If you want to save cash and have reliability at the same time Zotac T500 or T400 model is fine.

Get i7 6700 used from PG market would be fine..............26 - 28K in case if you with new it will be 36K
GTX 1060 6GB will be a fine choice under 40K range................36K new ( as you mentioned) in case you consider used one, it can have at around 28K from PG importers)

Memory 16GB 2133mhz DDR4...............5-6K from PG

2TB Seagate Hdd around 7K New.

Yeah 1060 6gb will be best choice if his budget allows in that i think no need to go for some special versions etc, stock versions will be good enough. for rams you are right. Stock rams will be best for your friend. and i think in stock ram 1x16gb kingston ddr4 in 9500 will be the best regarding more ram your friend can add that later if its really required but i don't think more will be required. for processor right now the best choice is 6700 is no better cpu is available and there is no need you know of a K series processor. for the space look you can have 3 sorts of choice IMO
1:---------2TB------------seagate hdd----------------------7800
2:---------1TB------------seagate SSHD--------------------8900
3:---------1TB+128gb---HDD+SSD-------------------------11000

in above choices there is a choice that you can go for a SSHD but as far as i saw the performances of the SSHD i think there isn't much notable difference although it does have 8gb flash memory but the problem is that there difference between the prices is more than 3k for 1tb version so i think you should go for barracuda but the latest version which is 7200.14 in case of 2TB drive.
for the difference between barracuda and firecuda review this link:
UserBenchmark: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 vs Desktop SSHD

I will suggest to go with lower i5 CPU, Photoshop and other Graphics software don't require that much CPU processing unless he needs it for video and 3d editing instead go with better GPU ( A lower end 3GB 1060 GPU will do fine too ) and SSD. SSD for Operating System and Installing Software and HDD for crunching and storing files, Been in Graphic Designing for the last 10 years. SSD is a must bigger the better.

Intel Core i5-6500 Rs. 23,200
Corsair Vengeance® LPX 16GB Rs. 12,500
Corsair CSSD-F120GBLEB Force Series™ LE 120GB Rs. 5,600
Seagate FireCuda 2TB Rs. 11,900
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 192-Bit GDDR5 Rs. 34,400
Corsair Carbide Series® SPEC-01 Rs. 5,200
Total. 92,800

I have seen lots of professional graphics designer going for Workstation rather than new build. Still its not compulsory to buy it. A custom build system can serve equally if made according to software activities.

Since software like Xara, Lightroom, etc require lots of processing speed. It will be best to stick with Core17+SSD combo. Ram can be 16GB and GPU 1060 or 480. Since two already good suggested builds are posted. I guess you are good to go.

You can get a 1288 or 256GB capacity if you consider CPU & Memory in Used condition.

BTW if you tell me before, I would offer you ENERMAX Revolution XT II 650W GOLD - a Fresh Sample, it could cost you under 7K. Much better than thermaltake TR series. Anyways, it is still a good product nevetheless.

if i would have been buying for myself i would have opted that option but as one of my friend will be buying it for himself as he lives in pakistan
he will be buying all the new stuff and its better option to have everything brand new so if something goes kaput (considering electricity situation) he can deal himself with the dealer and what not
More over SSD is such an upgrade which person can do later on as well though i doubt he will be spending further any time soon

Thanks everyone

That's what I was going to say. For graphics people use xeon processor with much more cache than the intel ones.
Also people suggest to use quadro or firepro cards but that aren't dound NEW here so it will be difficult.
But do the GTX perform on par with Quadro like k2200 or quadro 5000?

well that workstation ain't cheap and bit hard to find from processor to motherboards same goes with those quadro they are expensive solution for non organization / single person user

If you are from Lahore, you can visit Hafeez Centre and survey around. I saw some very powerful branded Workstations. They were selling around 50-60K and at that time the specs were outstanding. I don't remember the exact build specs as all of them were new to me. Checked through google at that time.

No I am in UAE and my friend who is buying it from karachi and buying used item is a bit of gamble i wouldnt strictly recommend to the person who is non technical about hardware and usually those workstations comes with outdated hardware like last gen of Quadros i have seen some of them in Karachi market plus these ppl in market has habbit of swapping things here and there
