I was thinking for a while to start a thread about my collection but i was not totally sure whether to do it or not since there are hardly any Collectors in Pakistan and the respond as far as buying/trading is concerned is Cold. Secondly it takes time to take snaps etc.However today i have decided to create this thread .
My Collection might seem less but all these are Factory Sealed games.They are very Hard to get and mine are Authenticated as well so i am 100 percent sure that i got a Factory Sealed copy which only some Collectors have in the world.Further more Most of the games below are the Original First Editions . Basically the other editions are collected but they dont have that value which the First Cover has. The First Cover Editions are always the most expensive and the most coveted ones.

" VGA stands for Video Game Authority. Its the only company in the world at the moment which grades, Preserves and authenticates Video Games. As you asked that what does it take to grade a game by VGA.
Well first of all you need a Video game
. It should be Sealed or Opened that doesnt matter. Both can be graded. However 99.5 percent of the games that are Graded ( authenticated, preserved and graded by condition ) are Factory Sealed. Since there is no point of grading a Opened or Loose game since they gain no value over the course of time. Here is a Example :

The Fishing Derby for the Atari 2600. I am looking for this game since a while now but i cant find a Factory Sealed copy. This game is one of my favorites. I liked it when it was released but i was unable to play it much. I still have this feeling that it was a great game and i love the Cover . One day i will find it and this game would be one of my Holy Grails.Coming back to the point you can see the prices on amazon for this Loose , opened, unsealed game. It has gained no value at all since the last 30 years. Moreover the best used copy is going for 10 $ only. Hence no one will get a Loose game graded. Hardly any need.

Such games which are Extinct. Game that have vanished and are no where to be seen. Like LochJaw for the Atari 2600. Its one of the 3 copies in existance i guess and none of them are Factory Sealed. Hence for people who are on a mission to have a complete collection of each and every Atari 2600 game, this is a Must have. They will go to any extent to get this loose , unsealed game in there collection in order to achieve there goal. In such cases a Loose game can also gain a huge value as you can see the Lochjaw is tagged with a price of 1000$. Once this game is bought then it surely should be Graded even though its not Factory Sealed.So both games can be graded but 99.5 percent games that are graded are Factory Sealed.
So get a game which is Factory Sealed or a game like LochJaw if its Loose. A game that you love , adore and makes you feel happy. Bubble Wrap it so that it retains its condition and send it to VGA's head office in America. While the game is on its way you have to contact VGA and let them know that one of your game is coming to them to get graded. They will do some paper work with you. After finishing that you will need to get there membership which is 100, 200 and 300 $ a year. There are a few differences in services. Once you are done with that you become a VGA member.Now you need to wait for the game to arrive at VGA in states. Once its there you will get a email from VGA telling you that your game has reached them . Now you need to tell them how you want the game to get graded. What label do you want, what case you want etc. Its very simple. Lastly they will charge you a fee of 25 $ - 50 $ ( depending on the size of the game ). Once the payment is processed VGA will start to work on your game. They have expert insiders who know the art of Sealed and Resealing. People who have been there in this field since 30 years or so. They can easily spot whats real and whats fake or a Reseal. If your game is not Sealed it will get rejected and your money will be lost while your game will be returned to you. If its a genuine copy they will grade it and send it back to the address you have supplied. Once graded they will let you know the shipping charges and you have to choose how much fast you want the game back. Ofcourse you will have to pay for that. Do keep in mind that you have to deal/pay with customs when the game/parcel is returned back to you.
This is how you get a game Graded in a nutshell . Easy Right
Ok so Xerolt coming to other section of your post. Yes its true that there are many covers for the games. Say a First Cover, Black Label, Greatest Hits Version, Sega Classics, Game of the year edition, etc. They are numerous. They are all Not worth the same. The Nes had a White Seal and a Golden Seal i guess. The seals make a difference as well. I am not a Nes fan so i didnt dive in those details but i do hear people talking about it on the forums.
What is the rating given on the graded games : The Rating on the games is basically associated with the games condition. The better the condition of the game the better the rating. Condition includes Tears, Rips, Cracks, Debris, Marks , Dents etc. When it goes for grading they see the conditon of the game from the outside. If the condition is great you get a higher score. They have these VGA seals on the graded box . Bronze, Silver and Gold. A bronze should be avoided if its not something Extinct. Otherwise both Silver and Gold grades are great. A silver grade starts from 75 and goes till 85. 85 + and onwards are Gold.
Lastly, how much does an original factory sealed game + grading + shipping cost?
Now this is a tricky question. Actually it depends on the game. There is not Fixed cost for the first component in the equation which is Original Factory Sealed game. This can be 25 $ or maybe 4000 $ maybe more.
So X ( Factory Sealed Game ) + Grading ( varies from 25 $ to 100 $ plus if you want express service then it can go upto 200 $ ) + Shipping Cost ( around 25 $ per game ) + Custom Duy
