Moving Battlefield 3 or Any Other Origin Game to your Desired Drive

It Seems like everyone having problem moving game to other drive or having issue to run the game after Newly installed windows and they already have installed files of the Game
As I Recently found it Easiest method so thought to share a Simple and Proper Guide to you guys
what i did is Made a Backup of PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED BF3 so things dont screw up
i wanted to move the game to My SSD as i had installed the Windows

Here Is The Easiest Method


1 Uninstalled origin first if its Already installed
2 Created a Folder at C:\(ur desired drive) "origin games"
3 Put the previously Installed Game files i.e "Battlefield3" in the "origin games" folder
4 Now Install the Origin in "origin games" folder
5 Login Origin > Goto Setting>General and Choose "origin games" directory to Downloaded Games Dialog Box
6 Restart Origin
7 Now Click on "Ready to Install Button" it will show the progress bar and it will be 100% in small period of time and your Game will be ready to play

Note if You are Getting Russian Language after running game
download files english language files from here =

And Update the Registry after pasting above files

Note that the Path will be the one where your game is installed

so after i do ur process i have to one by one add the files in registery .. .but the director that i am moving is allready updated with the language files , and the local files do i have to do it again

AS SAID if replacing RU files does the JOB no need to Do REGISTRY THING

Try Origin repair install.

Open Origin > Right Click BF3 > Repair Install.

i reinstalled origin and it worked. and i get the black screen when i put english files. I have the russian key. I did everything but i get the black screen

i did exactly as you have written but after i restart origin, it doesn't give any "ready to install" button.........it just says download game and when i click on that, it starts downloading the complete came of 16 gb............what am i suppose to do here? btw i am moving the game to my 60 gb ssd......

What did i told you to backup the files somewhere before trying anything its even mentioned in start guide
Recently haseeb transfered his game by using same method

Your replies shows you did things in hurry and didnt follow it properly you should have backed up the installed bf3 somewhere and not to touch it in any way then tried doing it by pasting on SSD

you can google it how to transfer BF3 in SSD you will get same replies everywhere like install origin and give path of installed BF3 in downloaded directory and voila your done

i will take the folder from blastwave, so it will be the russian version (i also have russian version).......i won't might downloading some gbs as long as most of the game is installed.........

hmm what ever the installed files you take from blastwave make sure you keep that as a backup and dont directly experiment on it so if you mess up again you dont have to start from zero

yaaay........with the help of your thread and blastwave, i have now again installed bf3 successfully.......and with armored kill update, it doesn't download anything at all, you just copy 23 gb folder and the game will be ready in 5 minutes.........
