Mother board temperature 100 degrees celcius

hi guys i have intel dh55htc mother board it supports pci ex 2.0 16x recently i have mounted gtx 580 sc on checked mother board temperature with open hardware monitor software it showed 100 Celsius


my other system specs are


core i5 750 2.6 ghx
ram 4 gb

corsair gs 700 watt psu with 12/56 va current rail

my system is not dusty and both of my systems casing panels are open for ventilation

what could possible be the reason of heating up of mother board

Bro its the issue with ur main mobo chip..
its heating....with the gpu or without it???
check that and report back..
also check the gpu temps and show a screen shot of gpuz aswell for further clearification....

its with GPU but GPU temps seems normal 49 to 53 on idle also the processor which is 45 46 cele without load

check the card on another system.......
ur main chip of the mobo is heating too much..
its going to die...!!!

i have checked on board small capacitors didnt find any swelling or physical damage

U cant touch the main chip on the mobo with ur finger.
touch it..and u will know how hot its getting..
dont run ur system any more..
u can damage any component....
either the card ram or pro.....

i have used intel desktop utilies and open hardware monitor softwares INTEL DESK TOP UTILIES SOFTWARE SHOWED 55 CELCIUS TEMPERATURE but open hardware monitor showed 100 celcius

Yaar where to check temperature from bios ? i didnt find any option in its bios for checking temperature

for get all these softwares..
use Realtemp.....and then see what are the temps on the mobo....

if it happens only when gpu is installed then its chip which control PCI-Express (north bridge)
try installing another card and check if problem still presist

the software is crap no way a pc can work with that high temperature !!!! it should automatically shutdown

yar i have tried to find temperature reading on bios but i couldnt dont know in which option the readings are

@Cerberus@mave3 i have asus p5g41t mlx.hw monitor shows temp of some part of mobo 96c and 140c(max) reading and actual reading is 50c. i know that when we start hwmonitor it only shows current and maximum reading .But when i run hwmonitor two parts of have current temp 45c but their max temp is 120c or 96c.I put my hand into case during game but there is no heat.I get afraid and i installed big alienware fan.But the problem was same and i got one benefit that temp of my cpu is reduced and temp of gpu never goes above 80c.PLease help me

It's just a BIOS issue. Update your BIOS. I made this thread some 2 years back.

Your motherboard sensor must be not working correctly I guess. If you can't feel that heat emitting from the motherboard then it must be fine. Otherwise at that temperature, the motherboard probably would have fried.

Its bad sensor reading nothing to worry about, do you get any bsod or auto restarts?
