AoA guys, i hope everyone are good and safe. im posting here after a long long time, i couldnt find the right cellphone section so decided to post it here.
i understand there is a phone tax in pakistan, if someone brings his phone from abroad he has to pay some tax to make it work in PAK, if i bring an unlock fone to Pakistan, would i be paying the taxes to make it work?
please let me know about this. thankyou.

Doesn't matter unlocked or carrier locked you will have to pay PTA Tax to use cellular services in Pakistan. I have a tablet that is unlocked (which means it's not tied to a specific carrier) but still, cellular services don't work here in Pakistan for that I would have to pay PTA Tax.

You'll have 60 to 90 days grace period to pay duties & register your device with Pta dirbs system. After that it'll get PTA blocked.
