e. PHYSICAL STANDARDS
(1) Minimum Height - 5’ - 4” (162.5 cm)

(a) Distance Vision With glasses 6/9, 6/12 (b) Near Vision J2, J7 or N8, N12 with or without glasses
(3) Weight - As per the Body Mass Index.
f. EDUCATION
(1)
Marks - FA / FSc
(a) Minimum 60 % marks in FA/FSc and equivalent.
(b) Candidates who secure 60% mks or above in BA / BSc, BA / BSc (Hons) and BBA / BPA, with 50% mks in FA / FSc are eligible for PMA Long Course.
(2)
Relaxation of Marks - FA / FSc
Minimum 55 percent marks for the candidates from specified area Area incl Balolchistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum Azad Jammu Kashmir, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil Bala Kot (Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtun Khwa, Tharparker and Tehsil Umer Kot in Sind, District Rajanpur, Area of Cholistan Desert, Drawer Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab, who have been actually studying in same areas.
(3) Serving Army Soldiers 50 % marks in FA/FSc and equivalent. (4) Hope Certificate
Candidates who have passed Part-1 of Intermediate Examination with minimum 60% marks and have appeared/appearing in Part-II/Final Examination and whose result will be announced by 30 Sep 2012 can also apply subject to provision of original Part-1 Marks Sheet alongwith “Hope Certificate” by the Head of College/University that they have good chance of passing the final examination with minimum 60% marks. Such candidates will deposit their original Part-II Certificate/Mark Sheets alongwith 4 attested copies to GHQ PA Dte, PA-3(a) latest by 10 Oct 2012 otherwise their selection will not be processed further.
(5) Verification of Marks Sheet / Certificate
Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric / Intermediate / BA / BSc MUST get a Verification Certificate signed by Secretary/Controller Examination of concerned Board/University.
(6) A-Level Candidates
A level candidates applying in Pakistan with aggregate 60% marks are eligible without seeking equivalence certificate as calculated by IBCC. However, all candidates who have passed A level and equivalent examination from abroad are required to submit equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.
2. INELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
a. “Not Recommended” twice by ISSB/GHQ Selection & Review Board.
b. Declared medically unfit by Military Hospital/ Appeal Medical Board.
c. Enrolled cadets and recruits withdrawn/ resigned /discharged/ dismissed from Armed Forces (Army, Navy & Air Force) training academies/institutions on the grounds of discipline, character, medical, inefficiency, weak profile, or declared unsuitable.
d. An individual dismissed/removed from any other government service.
e. Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
3. REGISTRATION AND PRELIMINARY SELECTION PROCEDURE
Candidates can either register through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). Following procedure will be adopted:-
a. REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET
A candidate can register on website
www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk . Date and time of test shall be intimated on internet for which the individual should have an e-mail account. Candidate will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on computerized roll no slip. Date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring along all documents mentioned in para 6 and will pay prospectus fee on the day of test. Candidates MUSTattain working knowledge of computer as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.
b. REGISTRATION AT AS&RCs
The candidates may report at nearest following Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs) for registration / allotment of roll no alongwith necessary documents mentioned in para 6 and the prospectus fee for completion of registration formalities from 09 Apr - 13 May 2012. The candidates will bring these documents on the day of test as well.

d. PRELIMINARY SELECTION
(1)
Written/ Intelligence Tests
Written/Intelligence tests will be based on multiple choice questions from English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat and General Knowledge. The candidates declared successful in written/intelligence tests will undergo physical / medical tests and interviews at AS&RCs.
(2)
Physical Tests
The candidates must qualify the following physical standards at the time of preliminary selection:-
(a) 1.6 Km Run 8½minutes (b) Push Ups 15 repetitions in 2 minutes (c) Sit Ups 15 repetitions in 2 minutes (d) Chin Ups 3 repetitions in 2 minutes (e) Ditch Crossing 7’.4” x 7’.4” with a depth of 4’ (3) Interview
Successful candidates will be interviewed at AS&RC and short listed for ISSB test.
(4) ISSB Call Letter
Successful candidates will receive notice for ISSB tests through website as well as call up letter.
4. FURTHER SELECTION
Candidates who are selected by AS&RCs will be called for ISSB Test by GHQ. Medical examination of ISSB recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHs. The final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidate’s overall performance.
5. TRAINING PERIOD AT PMA
2 Years.
6. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT AS&RCs
a. Original certificate / detailed Marks Sheet of Matric/FA/FSc / Equivalent.
b. Computerized National Identity Card for 18 years and above or Computerized Form “B” alongwith Guardian’s Computerized National Identity Card (Father or Mother) for less than 18 years old.
c. One set of attested photocopies of above mentioned documents.
d. 6 x Coloured photos duly attested (front and back) by Principal/Class 1 Gazetted Officer.
e. Original as well as three photocopies of “NOT RECOMMENDED” letter by ISSB are also required for “Repeater Candidates”.
NOTE: Old National Identity Card will not be accepted.
7. PAKISTAN NATIONALS RESIDING ABROAD
Eligible candidates residing abroad are exempted from Preliminary Selection. However, Defence Attaches will ascertain their overall suitability, physical deformity and stammering aspects. The candidates are advised to approach Pakistani Embassies (Military/Defence Attaches) in the country where residing or Personnel Administration Directorate PA-3(a), GHQ Rawalpindi, for issuance of Application Forms. They will submit their Application Forms alongwith connected documents through Pakistani Embassies by 10 Jul 2012. A postal order of Rs. 100/- and a Bank Draft of Rs. 500/- in the name of Director Personnel Administration (Selection), Personnel Administration Directorate, GHQ Rawalpindi will be attached with the Application Form. Postal address in Pakistan should also be indicated in the Application Forms so that call up notice for ISSB Tests/ Interviews and further correspondence to eligible candidates can be made on the given Pakistani address. No traveling allowance will be admissible for traveling to and from Pakistan.
8. NOTE
If selected candidates for current entry are more than the required induction, the left over candidates would be considered for next PMA Long Course entry subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions / merit.

im a student of AKHSS 2nd year ,about to give the inter boards exam. can anyone guide me ? i want to join the army and as well as do BE (mechatronics ) . what is the procedure? and i heard tht once you get ur Fsc/Hsc degree ur rank starts from captain. can anyone discuss in this matter? thank you :)

As about your B.E degree, there are different courses helding date by date WAIT for sometime and there would be in news about Engineer. They put a test of initial whoever pass then he will do b.E under Army expenses and when you are completed your B.E then you would be go under training of Captain.

CATEGORY OF STUDENTS

· NUST Students. NUST students are selected by HQ NUST on open merit through NUST Entrance Examination / SAT test.

· Sons & Wards of Defence Personnel. Children of serving / retired Defence Personnel are selected by respective HQs (GHQ / NHQ / AHQ) on reserved quota seats. These candidates are required to appear in NUST Entrance Test.
Children of the serving / retired Pakistan Navy Officers / CPOs / Sailors including Pakistan Navy civilian with minimum of 15 years of service from date of joining are eligible for admission against reserved quota seats of Pakistan Navy. Army / PAF personnel on secondment / deputation to Pakistan Navy are not eligible to apply on these seats.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
· FSc (Pre-Engineering) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification like Overseas High School Certificate/ British General Certificate of Education (Advance level) / International Baccalaureate / Advance Placement with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

OR
· FSc/equivalent with a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Studies or Computer Science for admission in Electronics Engineering.

· Minimum 60% aggregate marks each in Matric and in FSc (excluding NCC marks) / equivalent exams. No deviation in this regard is allowed.

· Diploma holders are not eligible to apply.

· Candidates of FSc (Pre-Engineering) can also apply NUST entry test on the basis of F.Sc part-I marks but confirmation of their admission is subject to provision of FSc certificate or detail mark sheet (with minimum of 60% marks) before commencement of relevant course of study.
· Candidates of O&A level stream can apply on the basis of ‘O’ level equivalence certificate duly obtained from IBCC with minimum of 60% marks but their confirmation of admission is subject to provision of ‘A’ level equivalence certificate(with minimum of 60% marks) before the commencement of relevant course of study.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

· Submission of Application Forms Available in UG Prospectus
Candidates can obtain prospectus and admission form from nominated branches of Askari Bank or NUST Headquarters on payment of prescribed charges.

· Submission of Downloaded Application Forms
Candidates can download the application forms from NUST website

. Duly filled application forms are to be dispatched to Headquarters NUST along with the Pay Order / Bank Draft of prescribed charges in favour of NUST.

· Submission of Applications through Online facility
NUST has also commenced On-Line acceptance of application forms. A candidate / applicant can fill and submit the application form available online at NUST website

MEDICAL FITNESS
Students are required to be medically fit to undertake the studies and practical/physical work in the desired discipline. Students will be required to provide medical fitness certificate to NUST / GHQ / NHQ / AHQ from any Government / Military Hospital or a Registered Medical Practitioner (as applicable).

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
To evaluate the factual knowledge, comprehension and its application by the candidates, an entrance examination is conducted for NUST civilian students and sons / wards of defence personnel simultaneously all over Pakistan. The examination is based on FSc (Pre-Engg) / equivalent levels. It is a written test and is conducted in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry / Computer Science and Mathematics. This test structured on multiple-choice questions. The questions have an in-built provision to evaluate intellect and engineering aptitude of the candidates. The weightings of the subjects for the preparation of merit lists, is as under:

· Mathematics 40%

· Physics 30%

· Chemistry or Computer Science 15%

· English 15%

SAT subject test /SAT reasoning test is a computer based test held under the management of Collegeboard, USA. For more information on SAT and how to apply, see their website

NUST has reserved a few seats in all discipline of Engineering for induction through SAT tests. Pakistani candidates of both A Level and FSc streams can exercise this option and compete for the reserved seats. National students will take and submit the result of the followings:

I applied for 126th PMA long course in 2010 and passed the initial but was not recommended by ISSB :( .... I lived in 63rd Punjab Infantry Regiment (Light Anit Tank Unit) with 50 other boys who were short listed for ISSB for a month... those days are memorable specially the RAGRA in the morning, daily assault course, Daily 1 mile, the pre-issb training, visit to 17 lancers Tank Unit, riding a tank with a Captain :D .... It was my child hood dream to join Army but to tell you honestly ISSB is all about Luck.... the top most candidate who is anticipated by everyone kay "Yeh to pakka recommend hay", gets not recommended while a weak candidate gets recommended.... now i am working as Admin and Finance Executive in a reputed organization and earning good more than a 2nd Lt but still i have this little soldier inside of me :)

I have ICS qualification which i passed in 2010 and now going for B.A which requires atleast 2 years gap from intermediate... after that i will do 4 years CPA (Certified Public Accountant) :D

Bro nice effort .,,,, do u know if we apply for non GDP in paf After masters then like i am applying in logistic branch the criteria for test change or not for example first of all in initials there r verbal and non verbal test and after that logistic ( Subject in which we did our masters) instead of academic or it remain same????

Bro nice effort .,,,, do u know if we apply for non GDP in paf After masters then like i am applying in logistic branch the criteria for test change or not for example first of all in initials there r verbal and non verbal test and after that logistic ( Subject in which we did our masters) instead of academic or it remain same????
Don't worry test pattern is so easy there might be academics test for you Coz it is the main part of test Further you can check on website the pattern of test.

Bro i dont think so becoz in logistic branch or accounts branch there is no academic test after intelligence test instead of academic there is subject related test i am not sure about that but i see and update u... if u have any information about this plz tell me my bro apply for paf logistic branch

Thanks to Almighty ALLAH, I have been selected in Short Service Commission in Pakistan Navy in Weapon Engineering Branch.It was a lengthy and hectic procedure but it was well worth it.:)
