Hello guys,

So what basically happens is my GPU stops giving display while going under full load and starts sounding like a jet all of a sudden, i have to force restart the whole system to get display back. (Gpu stops giving signal to monitor)

Things that i have tried,

Applied Thermal Paste (HY510)
Setting the fan curve through MSI afterburner
Reinstalled drivers
Reinstalled windows
Replaced PSU (old one was Asus vento something 700W and it was causing same issue)

Note: it only crashes when i play heavy games which utilizes both cpu and gpu. I can play dota 2 at 60fps locked without any issues.

Gpu temps: 69-70 (full load)

Specs (Edited)
Ryzen 5 2600
16 GB Corsair Veangence LPX 3200mhz
Gigabyte X370 Gaming 3
Msi RX580 8GB Gaming X
CoolerMaster Silentpro 1000W 80+ Platinum
Cosair Spec Delta Casing

It looks like your gpu is causing you issues. Just to make sure it is the gpu & not something else, take your gpu to your friend's place & see if he faces similar issues & if that is not feasible than get it checked out at a reliable pc repair shop.

Have you monitored your cpu temps during the process? If your GPU ran properly on another system then i doubt its the GPU, PSU might not be the cause since you already replaced the old one.

EDIT: Which PSU did you get?

When you stop getting the display can you still hear the sounds or it freezes? Also share the specs of the other PC on which you tested the GPU. Also try GPU and CPU stress testing softwares. Maybe it's the CPU?

Well I don't mean to hijack this thread. But exactly the same thing happened with my R9 270.

Computer will freeze (usually vertical grey lines, sound also stops after 3,4 seconds of freeze) during load and only option was to restart the PC. Then after 2,3 weeks PC won't boot if GPU is plugged in. :(

Can anyone in RWP/ISB area help me test this GPU?

Try using gpu on full load on a friend's system. If same problem occurs then it surely is a gpu issue.
This should be the first step, to identify which component is the culprit.

Okay so after alot of research and random answers from every other individual, it must be your psu, cpu, gpu etc.. nothing was really helping.
I already replaced my psu, cpu temps were normal, gpu temps were normal.

So right before almost giving up and throwing my gpu away, I gave it a last try of cleaning it really good, I pulled the card out, separated its heatsink washed it good with the water, let it dry for sometime then I cleaned the fans which were filled with dust, then I reapplied the thermalpaste, and after assembling it back I gave it a try again, and IT WORKED! I also made sure that I made the card sit perfectly and push pcie connectors a little too hard to make sure they be in the place, but I think cleaning did the job and its working all good since then.
