Mysterious pink iPhone 3G hits eBay

An iPhone in a hue other than black, white, or silver? While a red model has been rumored since before the 3G even launched, I've never thought about a pink one. Just surfing on internet I came across this girly coloured iPhone :D available on ebay. Head to eBay to get your hands on it. ;)

Serv O'Beer pours when iPhone accelerometer tells it to

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtUyzQBNT3k

Using Construx as the mechanical platform, a servo driving the action, and ioBridge controlling the system, developer was able to achieve the perfect pour controlled with the turning of my iPhone using the accelerometer feedback. For complete steps on how to make it work, just visit the developers page from the source link below.

UiRemote is like a remote... in your iPhone

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-SlcjmqeYw

Yeah, sure, name any IR-equipped phone in existence and odds good to excellent that you can find a universal remote app for it, but you probably can't think of many for the iPhone, now, can you? They exist, yes, but they tend to carry a home-automation slant since the lack of an infrared port leaves the thing relegated to WiFi duty. Enter UiRemote, an ambitious little project undertaken by a handful of scrappy Universiudents that usety of Toronto sts a fingertip-sized IR blaster connected to the headphone jack paired with a totally customizable app to get the job done. Novel? Not necessarily, but when you consider that a dedicated remote with these specs would probably run half a grand, it's an interesting way to save money and still end up with the coolest AV controller on the block. The devs are still tweaking both the module and the app, but hopes are high that they'll be available to all interested parties in the next couple months.

Apple records another record quarter -- $1.61B profit

Apple just announced its quarterly results, and it looks the brutal economy isn't bruising the fruit at all -- the company posted a record $1.61B profit on $10.17B in revenue. Adjusted to reflect the subscription accounting Apple uses for the iPhone and Apple TV, that's $2.3B of income on $11.8B of revenue. Sales were all strong -- Macs were up nine percent to 2.5M sold, iPods up three percent to 22.7M sold, and iPhones were up 88 percent to 4.3M sold. If you're keeping track, that means Apple's now sold well over 10M iPhone 3Gs on top of beating its goal of 10M total iPhones in 2008, which is pretty tremendous. Acting CEO Tim Cook and CFO Peter Oppenheimer are taking questions from analysts now, we'll let you know if anything interesting happens -- as you'd expect, the first question was "How's Steve?" and it got basically a non-answer.

2:18PM - After rattling off Apple's core goals and beliefs, Tim Cook said that "regardless of who is in what job, those values are so embedded in this company that Apple will do extremely well." Neither him or Peter would speak to succession plans or comment on Steve's health.

Apple’s Next iPhone Will Rule at Gaming

The next upgrade to Apple’s iPhone will have a strong focus on gaming, analysts and developers agree.

That’s because the gaming market is an increasingly juicy segment of the mobile multimedia space — and it’s one that Apple’s phenomenally successful iPhone is well-positioned to dominate.

"The iPhone and iPod Touch are becoming a major new handheld gaming platform, and if you look at the App Store and look at what’s doing well, that’s reflecting," said Bart Decrem, CEO of Tapulous, developer of the popular Tap Tap Revenge iPhone game. "I would look forward to improvements in the device as a gaming platform both for the phone and iPod Touch."

Apple made clear its plans to seize the gaming market in November 2008 when Apple marketing executive Greg Joswiak called the iPhone and iPod Touch "the future of gameplay," posing a serious threat to dedicated gaming consoles such as the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. The reasons? A few things: The quick, electronic distribution method of games and apps via the iPhone’s App Store; the accelerometer and multitouch display, which are introducing new approaches to gameplay; and the iPhone’s lighter, more portable form factor compared to its rivals.

iPhone Get's It's GTA (Knock Off)

I've been playing around with Payback on my iPhone for the past week or so. The game is a top down action game very reminiscent of the original Grand Theft Auto. Did I say reminiscent? It's really closer to a copycat. I haven't really played it enough yet to write up a formal review, but the game does seem to have some interesting things going for it.

You play by tilting the device around and then holding a virtual forward or back button. There's also a button to attack, another to enter a vehicle and a third that lets you switch between weapons.

It's pretty fun to mess around with, but doesn't seem to have the cohesion of a genuine GTA title, it's also most certainly missing the macabre humor that makes the original title so much fun to play. For instance, you get points for killing people, blowing things up, stealing vehicles, but there's not a whole lot to tip you off that it's an absurdists adventure. Like getting extra points for mowing down a weaving line of Hare Krishnas.

The extensive music catalog, sizable city and sandbox setting might still make the game's $7 worthwhile. Stay tuned for our full review down the line.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.

With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
