Assalamualaikum friends,

I am facing a problem and I need your help in solving the problem. So kindly guide me please. I have two internet connections, 1- Stormfiber and 2- Connect. But their routers can only provide internet connection 10-15 ft. away. My house is 55 ft. long and 30 ft wide. At one end of the length is my room with internet connection and at the other end is my brother's room with no internet access. Kindly inform me the most economical and effective way to extend my internet access to my brother's room and even better if it could cover my complete home. Awaiting your kind replies. Best regards.👍

Run a cat cable attach another access point or buy a wifi extender. 2nd one is not recommended for online gaming though

Hi smazz,

Thanks a lot bro for your guidance. You are the only one who responded me in this forum. It seems there's no one interested to help others. I also posted a thread titled "Wish to buy a TP Link Router" and no one took the trouble to post a reply. Thanks again to you for replying me. smazz, the method you described seems quite difficult but if there's no alternative I would have to do that. That is running a cat cable and attach another access point. For Wifi extender option I think if it's not suitable for online gaming it's useless. What comes into my mind is what if I buy router strong enough to cover all the area and which doesn't compromise on online gaming? So I could still do online gaming. Kindly she'd some light and if this is workable kindly suggest me some router. With my best regards. :)

Thats not it bro, trust me PG is still the most helpful online community when it comes to tech, 10 years ago mostly this was used for PC/Gaming but now it has grown into so many other stuff like mobiles and very active market place. therefore PC Helpdest that used to be the most active section on PG now draws very less attention because in recent years focus has been shifted to console and mobile gaming while people use desktops very less.

Now to your problem, I have a large house therefore I have 3 wifi extenders (Netgear) placed to give access to every room, now kids and adults mostly use smartp[hones smart TVs so general WIFI usage is great with wifi extenders secondly they are compact just plug into a socket and I have yet to face a problem. But for PC gaming pings will be horrible therefore I suggested to run a cable.

Most TP Link routers do have a wifi extender function built in, and they are not half bad. Tenda/TPLink are of the same standard. I have a Dual band tenda router at the main with 5 antennas that I bought for 5k I guess and its working fine since 6/7 months and 5ghz isgood to transfer files scross cross platform.

Hi smazz,

Thanks for your reply. I have come to the conclusion that running cat cable is the most reliable and economical way to expand internet access as I also do online gaming. So I have decided to go for that option. Thanks a lot for your guidance and support. :)
