[Important] Improving Your Marketplace and Emall

Hey PG,

We want PakGamers Marketplace and E-Mall to be one and only solution for your EVERY Gaming Technological, Electronics and Gaming.

We already have the most trusted marketplace due to trader score and fantastic community, but we want to be better in all aspects. So we are in middle of developing solutions for marketplace and Emall.

I think it is best if as a community we bring forward suggestions, likes, dislikes and ways to improve it.

The survey is anonymous so be free..but I would highly recommend that you provide your username so we can identify what kind of a member wants what kinda service..i.e if you are new, old, etc..It would be helpful in categorization, but I promise not to reveal any information to anyone.
You know that is true since in past we have had many surveys like this aswell.

i think PG rules are very good, just one more thing i will like to add in.

there must be a kind of way or rule where there must be a check on the prices sellers ask for their products.

i mean i sometimes see a very ridiculous price of somethings here. just my thought though, that ridiculous prices should not be tolerated.

i know there is already some rule of this sort, but it should be made more strict

yep the marketplace is good but since the placing of different section have changed I have lost my interest from it. I rarely check marketplace now

I think there should be an algorithm to dynamically calculate the price of a console or a console game being sold in Games and Consoles section. Don't know if its applicable in the computers and hardware section, but such kind of an algorithm is surely needed in the gaming section of the marketplace. I have seen people selling games like GTAV for 4500 and Infamous Second Son for 2000.

The algorithm would dynamically calculate the price of the used console or game sold based on it depreciation value, used or new (Sealed) condition and current market trends. Shipping charges can be decided by the buyer and seller, but the prices calculated by algorithm would be final and buyers cannot ask for negotiation.

Though it would be a little difficult to implement, but once done, the games and console marketplace section would become one of its kind, something that has been never implemented before. I guess such improvements are much needed. It can be first implemented in the games and console section for testing purposes, if successful, it can be then implemented in other sections as well.

Though i have filled up the form, but i couldn't explain there in much detail.

I'm going to be honest here. I love this place. I've been here for a long time, and I don't like seeing it going down the drain. There's a lot of potential here, and you guys are just wasting it. I've seen reduced interest lately in the marketplace and also reduced traffic and customers. I've been able to sell way more stuff on OLX than on PG lately. The user experience in the marketplace and Emall also sucks balls e.g the search feature barely works for as long as I can remember, there is no categorization for items (like all the e-commerce sites have), and no one wants to go deep into the premium Emall section to browse for items.

Anyways, Here's an idea on how to improve all this.
I'd suggest starting another e-commerce website solely for markets, and start promoting that instead of trying to trade on a dedicated Gaming forum. FFS, Stop trying to make a forum into a marketplace. Keep promoting the other (new) site on the marketplace and other areas, and make it something like Ebay but for Pakistan. Port all the Ads, profiles, trader scores etc from PG to that site. Make sure to chose a cool sounding generic name and not something techy/gaming oriented, so that it's easy for you to branch out in future. Later on, you can start some sort of escrow service too. This will require a lot of hardwork & cash of course, but In my opinion, that's the next stage of evolution 'if' you want to improve the marketplace experience. You have a very nice quality of traffic. You can have a monster OLX competitor in your hands if you work hard at it.

I'd take a small 0.2% of revenues from your future website for this brilliant idea. :2cool: My head is filled with more awesome stuff like this.
