I wanna learn to play the guitar.

Alright so I have an electric guitar but I dont know anything about it ..
So where should I start ? and how much time does it normally take to get some hang of it ? I am guessing not more than 6 months?

Depends on how quickly you learn and your practice.

A friend of mine is damn good guitarist he's got a acoustic one , he learned alot just from youtube.

torrents are your friend. download lessons. they are good. but imo. just keep on doing weird shit with guitar. you ultimately start playing. no one needs to get into musical shapes, this chord etc etc, this and that. those things play with your mind. just watch and play. and get ear trained. and firt of all learn to tune. you should be happy that you have electric, people like you with acoustic tend to get dishearten and may be angry and break their guitars. but in electric you will quickly start doing medium to advance playing. go practice.

Download a torrent name "Learn and master guitar" for all ur problems....excellent tutor....but its for acestiq guitar...but u'll learn any way....

its better if u start with an acoustic,cuz if u have mastered acoustic u have mastered every type of guitar....and it will make ur tips harder too.....And yeah try justinsandercore courses for guitar.Start from lesson 1.Very nicely explained by him......search em on utube....
