[Help] Optimum resolution for 5850

[Generall]

I know that 5850 won't be able to play games at max settings @ 1920 x 1080 ( 1080p).
I am going to get an LCD soon and was unable to choose between these resolutions :
1680 x 1050
1600 x 900
1440 x 900

I think 5850 will run games at max settings on 1680 x 1050.

I think I can also overclock it to 900 MHz with some voltage upping.

5850 can handle most of the games @ 1920 x 1080 but 1680 x 1050 might be the best resolution for you to go for.

Yes 5850 is a true muscular card and it can handle all games at ur mention resolutions at ultra settings...
and 1440 or 1600 x 900

why compromising on quality
most of the games are not heavy that much

You can easily run games at medium to high settings on 5850. About over clocking every single unit differs however I took like to 1000 without breaking a sweat

on 1680 x 1050 , 5850 is able to play all games maxed out ........... so go for this resolution ATLEAST !

yeah it will max out at 1600....
but u shouldnt have any probs.....

Okay. But, I still think DX11 games won't get average playable fps @ 1080p with Ultra settings. Or would they ?

Most of them will give it easy except BF3 and Metro2033

Seriously dont sacrifice resolution and get 1920x1080
U can simply lower the resolution for the select few games but play majority of them on full resolution

same problem was with me but if u want to go for 1080p on 5850 then u have to connect VGA to VGA instead of DVI to DVI or any other combination

The 5850 will give you playable frames on any game man,even bf3 about more than 30 atleast.

bro dvi to dvi par u will get full screen on 1680*1050 now i dnt knw y but this is how it works i have asus ms228h at vga cable i got full screen on 1080p and on dvi to dvi i didnt got full screen may ati these 5850 and 6850 dnt support full screen on 1080p
