help need amd 290 is good or evga gtx 770

hello everyone i need help from senior members which card is best in performance ,temperature ,heating up more ,power consumtion and silent plz tell me as gtx 770 is for 50k and r290 in used is for 49k waiting for good suggesion and review

r290 is much better but its stock version is very hot until its fan speed is increased and you have to tolerate the noise

IM using the r9 290 stock one at the moment for BF4 and it runs ok.power consumption is not more than 450w.you can decrease the temperature by running custom fan speed curve in msi afterburner and my temps dont go above 70 C under load plus its easily overclockable.the fan noise is a bit on the louder side but you wont notice if ur playing a game with headphones on and the performance for the price u paying is almost equal to gtx 780 so its a better deal in my opinion................

In terms of Performance R9 290 is better. Even though GTX 770 is better in terms of temperature, power consumption and sound, it's not a fair comparison to be honest as R9 290 is not a competitor of GTX770 in terms of performance and is a step above it. Besides, GTX770 for 50k is extremely overpriced and if the two cards cost the same then R9 290 should be your choice. Although you might want to get an aftermarket cooler for R9 290 in summer.

R290 is many cases beats gtx 780 ---gtx 770 is a re branded gtx 680 with slightly higher clocks --

the heat issue is there coz of a reason --the gigabyte models tri fan editions are cooler with 3 fans .

just go for a gigabyte or custom cooled r290 and see the performance .

bro i know about its performance only issue is heating i saw the mastermind saphire r290 its stock card its means its also heating much do you know any person who have custom r290 in same price or i will go for gtx 770 2gb brand new boxed pack

Does sound bother you ?? Do you have a ceiling fan in your room?? IF yes then there is high probability the sound of ceiling fan will mask at least some noise of your GPU in summers. But R290 at 49k is a good price. Unbeatable performance. You will need to set custom fan profile and bear the noise..
So your decision should be based on the amount of noise you can tolerate.

Why would you import 770 ?? Importing seems acceptable if your going for HIGH end cards. It would be better importing 780.

It was actually launched to take on the 780 ($500), which it does and succeeds with for the price tag and performance. Its almost at par and sometimes better than the 780. Hence the 290 is obviously a better option than the 770.

But as many people have reported the stock cooler is weak and quite power hungry too from the online reviews i've read. No doubt the performance is great, but the temperature and power consumption is quite high. If you're buying the r9 290 import some external cooler and i guess you're good to go.

Just to let you guys in on the temperature settings of the r9 290,this card is designed by the manufacturers to run at 95 celcius under load and in words of AMD that wont affect ur gpu performance.With the new gpu driver performance settings you can set the max target temperature,which can be lowered from 95 to whatever max temp you want.but what i do is set a custom fan speed curve in msi afterburner which doesnt lets the temps go above 70 C under full load,even when overclocked....................
