help me make this pc

okay a frnd of mine already has a pc with the following specs:

• p4 2.8 ghz
• intel D101 GGC mobo
• 512 ddr dimm ram (i think its DDR1 dunno fr sure)
• 40gb hdd
• 280w Power supply
• Combo drive

he now has around 10k and wants to upgrade. what are the best options he should go for?

Buying used stuff is also an option.

Wil be mainly used for:

• pro-Engineer
• Mathematica
• MATLAB
• Phtotshop
• Corel Draw
• Movie maker

and other engineering/multimedia related softwares.

Sell the processor motherboard and ram and get E5300 + P5QPL-AM and DDr2 2GB. 6k for proc 5k for mobo and 4k for RAM. He should get approx 2-5k (not sure abt prices) for mobo + proc and ram so its within his budget.

all bought in dec 2009 all in warranty. how much shud he buy it for ??

its totally depends on budget
if he have 10k then gx280 dell is best choice for him otherwise the pc mentioned by syavash is best

it all depends on your bargaining skill..btw the used E5xxx series processors are available widely in the local market cheap!.....
