Hello guys i need some help,

i have a lapotp, Sony Viao, Core i3-2330M 2.20ghz, 4gb Ram, 500GB HDD running stock windows 7 Home premium in warranty.

I have had it for the last 4 months or so. it has given a blue screen error maybe 3-4 times during that period. I didnt pay that much attention to it probably because i wasnt using it myself.

Now yesterday the laptop started giving a tick tick noise, i instantly guessed it was a faulty hard drive, i restarted the PC and some data was missing. i ran a recovery software and managed to recover the data. Now i need to know how i can test my HDD to confirm if it really is faulty before sending it out in warranty.

i have used Windows Chkdsk and HDTune, the Error scan (QUICK scan) produces no errors in both cases.

I am currently in the process of doing a Longer scan, will let you know if it has any problems

I have also done a read test using HDTune (attached below), can u guys tell me anything from that.

i cannot seem to do a write test maybe because it is the only HDD attached in the laptop.

It may not be your HDD, but lets see.

To check the HDD through HD Tune, a screenshot of the health tab would be helpful.
