The main enemy faction in this was first introduced in Halo Wars 2. And it looks like they're completely dropping the Guardians/Cortana stuff from the last game.

Call of Duty: Vanguard's maps need a CTF mode.

Call of Duty: Vanguard's maps are underwhelming, and the inclusion of Capture the Flag as a playable mode could have made them a lot better.

CTF is a staple of FPS games, so its absence in Call of Duty: Vanguard and recent CoD titles is confusing.

Hopefully, the next Call of Duty title will look at Halo's success, bring back CTF, and include stronger multiplayer maps as a result.
