Well The search for uni continues as days pass by . I'm currently in last year of A'levels with Pre-Engineering subjects they are Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics,English Literature,Applied Information and Communication Technology and General Paper (which I"m done with ) . I have narrowed down the choices of university but everyone should have a backup plan . Incase something happens . My plan is to go abroad for bachelors but I was wondering if I get a scholarship in Habib University due to my academic achievements . Should I take it ?

I wanted to know if anyone of you know anyone who is studying in Habib University in Karachi . They frequently visited my school and my CA (career advisor ) also suggested me to go for Habib University but I told them I'm going abroad . But I as I won't be depending much on my dad once I go abroad ,I would have to get a job . What really attracts me to go for undergrad to abroad is that I will get internation exposure . Become Multi-lingual . However ,if I study here ,I'll most likely be able to be more comfort (But then opportunity lies outside your comfort zone and TBH here isn't much any comfort for me either ,the loadshedding etc and what not) but what really wants me to stay here is family .

So I want to know ,is Habib university really good if one wants to Electrical Engineering ?
Reason I don't want to go to NED or NUST is because they don't cater to A'level students with that level as to Habib does .

Habib just opened up. This is their first year of admissions.
No one really knows how their engineering programs are.
You can go to LUMS for electrical. They have that signature A Level environment you are looking for.

Habib University is really good. Their teaching staff is just great! They have best of the best teachers, Awesome classrooms, infrastructure and a great environment. Well you can expect these type of offerings when you look at their fee structure.
LUMS is pretty meh when it comes to engineering though. And NUST does cater A'level students, where ya livin brah? Same can't be said about NED. I'm from NED, and there are around 10 A'level students in my class in a total of 70 from KGS, Nixor, City PAF, Southshore.

Habib University is recently established, they have top quality faculty staff but they have just started their batch and it might be their first batch in 201 so i would say NO to it.
You should go for LUMS or GIKI, Lums has international ranking as well as Giki but i think the environment you want , you will get in LUMS .

What bothers me about NED and NUST is that if you're an A"level student ,there are limited seats for you .You can either opt for entry test (for which you will have to take ECAT) or take SATs (Which is another headache) .

My dad actually wants me to go to NED .

Habib also offers scholarships from which 25-100% of your tuition fee can be waived off . What really bothers me is that it's a new university . And although I've visited it ,it's a great university . my English Literature Teacher's daughter studies there and she urged me to go there. My classfellow's brother also study there but they are studying a different course hence I can't get much about teaching point of view. Although they told, and I myself witnessed ,that there are foregin teachers but hey what do we know where they taught in their country . They have spent ALOT of money on the faculty indeed,it is quite obvious from where you see it .

IMHO ,I find habib university to be "Party Sharty wala" place where you can't really study . That's why they are trying to attract students who are really good at studies so they can compete among other unis . So far the students I saw were the rich spoilt brats .

Can anyone tell me the SAT requirements for NED,NUST and LUMS .
I also heard that LUMS doesn't have entry test anymore because of some cheating ? I just overheard this .But Entry test is out of question for me since I have no time for ECAT .

NUST mein get anything above 2000 in SAT 2 and you'll get in to the Karachi Campus easily. You'll need 2200+ for H-12 (Islamabad Camous) though.

NED on the other hand, doesn't make the merit list on SAT scores. Get 1500+ in SAT2 and 1100+ in SAT1 and you won't have to give the entrance test. Your merit number will be based on your A-level results.
Generally, A is 80% while A* is 90% at NED and the merit usually high, so you'll need a couple of A*s.

NUST doesn't give your A-level grades much importance. Their merit list is based on your marks in their test OR your SAT scores (if you applied on SAT Basis).

Confusing, eh?

Habib Uni is about 5 minutes drive from my Home. However. I heard there are good international faculty there. But fee is also high. You shouldn't take a risk there. Because it is not confirmed if it's really a good uni. Because 2014 is the first batch there.

Yea the Uni sides with the Airport . you can see the planes landing and taking off.

And yea that's why I'm reluctant to try it .

Giki would be the best choice for a good degree..

btw your logic about NUST and NED is such BS :tv: just give the test if you're good enough you'll get in.....

though a degree from NED has great value the teaching quality there has greatly declined (or so my friends studying in NED say). Nust is great. The next thing you should be trying is Giki which is like away from any urban city but it has great teachers etc. Lums is also an option but as the name says (lahore university of MANAGEMENT SCIENCE) they have a good curriculum for sciences but not the best so if you want studying to be your main motive and not anything else then lums should be a 3rd choice basically...

IMO the order should be Giki, Nust, Lums, NED.... though you should definitely apply to all of them

P.S. to apply to NED or Nust you will need an O'levels equivalency. to get that for science you need the 5 core subjects (maths, english, pk stds, islamiat, urdu) and then 3 from these 4 (physics, chemistry, biology, computer studies) to be eligible

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
