Better to buy supplements from GNC or Jacked Nutrition in Islamabad ? I have a 20% off GNC Gold card on all their products for 1st week of every month. And one more thing, if im trying to get lean muscle, aka trying to shred since its summer time, which supplemet should i buy ? Or should i just get pre-workouts to help me train more intensely ?

Need suggestions about diet for mass/weight increase. I don't eat mutton, beef and fish. And i am also not a heavy eater.
First thing first bro... You gotta eat. Thats the ONLY option. No one can give you any magic potion that will make you gain weight without any side effects.

You gotta increase your diet and that has to be a good diet. What you can do is start slow... try eating short meals 4 to 5 times a day.
and exercise. when you gain some muscle, your body will ask for more to maintain that muscle. so you ll notice that your diet has increased.

Dont forget to take rest. A skinny guy can only get bigger if he rests after exercise. This is how you can progress.

AoA bros,

Has anyone here been importing whey protein supplements from abroad? If so, what is the CD and taxes like?

Thank you.

Bros I am looking a trusted store in Lahore to buy whey protein?
SportsOne are authorized distributors of ON and Muscletech in Pakistan. They have a couple of shops in Lhr but their rates are considerably higher than market.

I would recommend Jacked Nutrition at Hussain Chowk, opp. Butler cafe. Their rates are lower but they sell genuine stuff and the staff is knowledgeable. Plus they also offer annual membership of 1500 which allows you to grab a discount of 10% on all supps. Pretty sweet deal.

+1 for Jacked Nutrition. Extra points for having a SUPER knowledgeable staff (and fit too!).
I'd say you go to them and ask them for advice too. They're not the usual money minting business mindset people. They actually give very good advice!

Yup! Made my very first purchase from Jacked Nutrition 2 months ago. Left very satisfied with what I got and the person who dealt with me. Although I did find something weird, they have a pretty diverse collection of supplements, but for some reason they decided to limit the flavors. For example, they have an entire rack dedicated to ON GS Whey Protein Jars but all of them were the same flavor, Double Rich Chocolate. So I was forced to get that one even though I wanted a different flavor.

Same was the case with some other brands as well.

@AbbY
Dude, what am I looking at apart from chicken legs if I start skipping leg days? And how in the hell could they be your favorite? I seriously dread the day I have to work on my legs. I feel like dying after just a couple of squats.

Haha. I always had strong legs due to sports, but, I gain muscle on my legs the most rapidly, the most well defined, and the most easily. Plus, I get no soreness at all apart from the first day of legs if I return after a while!

If your nutrition is on point, and you get ample sleep, I see no reason why you should have the death feeling. I mean, I know the feeling, because I did legs yesterday, and that was after a month of no gym at all due to a crazy routine, so I can relate to the pain, however, I do believe it's mind over matter too, to some extent.

Don't skip legs. Chicken legs and looking out of proportion is one thing, but, when you train legs, since they're such a massive muscle, you'll be burning much more calories [which was a major boost in my journey of fat loss. I started at 85kg [obese or just borderline entering into obesity] and now I'm in the low 70's [flattish belly, modest definition on shoulders and delts, good traps, nice triceps but disappointing biceps, but, huge legs =P) at a (very) short height of 5'4 so I'm sure you can imagine the two states)]. So, for anyone looking for fat loss, I would highly recommend leg training be a part of their regime, especially the bigger, compound exercises such as squats and deadlifts (both of which are my joint favorites, but deadlifts edging just above squats, if I had to).

Second major reason, and, a lot of people will argue that 'oh, but there are so many natural athletes who don't train legs but still have phenomenal upper bodies blabla, is that since they're such a big muscle group, they give you a massive testosterone boost, which, in turn, leads to more gains. When I started training legs, I noticed within the first month that I had put on a lot more muscle on my arms (and of course legs) while losing body fat. Now, I'm not saying that you wont be able to make gains on the upper body without leg training, I'm just saying that it'll be more efficient when you do train them.

Also, squats and deadlifts result in overall improved core strength. I noticed my ab strength improve quite significantly after leg exercises that involved core engagement.

Finally, there's just so much I burn after legs that I can truly make my cheat meals halaal. So, whenever I'm in the mood for something, I justify it by doing legs and burning off the excess (hopefully) =p

But, I will recommend doing legs (with proper form!!!) and having a proper diet with a proper rest to get rid of the pain. I have an unusual ability to train legs as hard as I want without any soreness, but, most of my friends here don't get *that* sore either unless they're returning to legs after quite a while.

Protein intake is key, especially in the anabolic window post workout!

Good luck and keep me informed!

Wow. Quite detailed info. I currently do the following exercises on leg day:

Deadlifts
Leg Presses
Leg Curls
Leg Extensions
Seated Calf Raises

Am I missing too much by not including squats? Somehow never got around to doing them.

Yes it is. Though I would recommend that you buy in person. Take advantage of their knowledgeable staff.

Yes, you are!

The big three of bodybuilding are called that for a reason.

I used to do that but squats and deadlifts (and I like to go heavy on both. 2 x bodyweight on deadlifts and 1.5 x bodyweight on squats presently) both on the same day used to absolutely kill me. So, now, I shuffle my workouts up a bit. I do squats with legs and deadlifts with back.

Thanks mate. So how should I start? I currently do a 1.5x on a dead. What weight should I start with on squats? Should I use a Smith machine in the initial phase?

Also, on an unrelated note, how much protein should I take in daily? At the moment I hover around the 150g mark with respect to my bodyweight.

Just bought ON whey protein powder and creatine powder from time medico.I will take a scoop of whey protein powder after workout.but not sure when to take creatine powder pre-workout post-workout or both? @puppet @Captain Wajji @AbbY
Creatine can be taken anytime during the day. I take it postworkout in my protein shake. You need 3-5g of creatine per day.

Jacked Nutrition or Kingsting.

Sportsone and GNC are expensive compared to them. I order my supplements from UAE. They're DIRT cheap over there.

Jacked nutrition and king sting are the biggest rip offs.
2 times i got fake stuff from jacked
Sportsone has legit stuff and sweet prices. They are the sole official distributors of On.
Regarding the guy who posted his leg day schedule.
You dont squat then means you no nothing. Ofcourse there are bodybuilders like dorian yates who do not prefer squat but the majority of chunk dies for it.
squats are hard. They literally make you puke sometimes
For the guy asking about creatine timing. Its best utilised post workout with something sweet. It causes insulin spike which enhances absorption in muscles.

I hAve a dedicated day for deadlifts. Since I am not able to justify any muscle group that i couple it with.
Its been 2 years since i first stepped in the gym. My PR for deadlifts is 230kg.
My deadlift routine is as follow
Warmups
Then pyramids. Light to heavy. Reps keep decreasing. Last 2 3 sets are only 1 rep of 200 then 220 then 230z
Then i do drop sets. Back to 140kg.
After that i go to the squat rack and make the setup for 3/4 deadlifts. I do partials for atleast 5 sets.
Last but not the least i go for top 3/4 deadlift. To make my forearms grip and trap stronger. These are absolutely heavy.
#theKindisDead
P.s i plan on atleast going to one powerlifting competition and one bodybuilding.
Alhamdolilla i am all natural but for 2 years i have been living like a robot.
I have quit roti chawal alu sweets coke chips. All i eat is meat fruits and whey protein.
My current stack of supplements is as follow
CLA
Fish oil
L carnitine
Glucosamine
Msm
Bcaa
Glutamine
Whey
Creatine (on break from it these days)
Preworkout
Coupled with 200g for protein a day and 2500-3000 maintenance calories.

Also people asking which brand of protein is best
The best brand is the one with least toxic substances. So you dont ruin yourself using whey
Supplement Ratings and Reviews - Labdoor is the site which does chemical tests on all supplements and rate them according to safety price and quality
Myprotein is the number 1 choice. Its safest its very cheap and its very very good but not available here.
Although it will be available in a few weeks. A guy i know is importing it i bulk.

Never had any fake stuff from Jacked. I always check the products I buy from them via the manufacturer. Plus they have a 200% cashback incentive, if you have been sold fake supps.

Sportsone is the official distributors of ON, yes, but they charge the MOST. Don't know how you can say they have 'sweet prices'. They overcharge everything, and give you 0% discount. In fact, they have big stickers all over their shops that say "FIXED PRICE, NO BARGAINING". Meanwhile, I have a membership of Jacked, and they give me 10% discount on all supps (except those of Jym) for 1500 annually. So, I would never recommend Sportsone over Jacked.
