^ I suggest you do a complete uninstallation of Punkbuster. That includes PBSVCs and the PB folders (in your game directory as well as in appdata) and re-install after that. Also make sure there's no firewall/AV blocking pb.

I, on the other hand, am having problems related to the keycode. I've retransferred COD4 onto my new OS (W8.1 if that matters at all) and now I am being told my keycode is invalid.
After successfully entering a valid key using the Razor gen, I am still unable to join any servers. It says "Keycode is invalid......". I assume it has something to do with the registry, so I reentered another key from regedit, but once again it had said my key was invalid. Any ideas?

EDIT: Running as admin, I was finally able to enter a game after entering yet another key.

[MENTION=8060]abobobilly[/MENTION] How the fuck do people connect so quickly to COD4 servers? So I run HLSW and wait for a slot. As soon as I see one free, I maximize the game and press enter (the /connect <ip>) command is already entered in console.

However, every single time someone else gets there first. Now I know they majority of the COD4 community isn't smart, so what is it they do? Is there some tool or something? Or some console command?

[MENTION=1601]ASKnASK[/MENTION]! I am not sure if any particular tool exists just for that, but you should check out the opening post and use the "QTracker", a server manager i mentioned specifically for this scenario. Add the server you play in usually, for Qtracker to monitor.

There is an option there which acts as a "Watch Dog. Basically it'll keep a look out for an open slot, and as soon as one is free ... it'll automatically try to join you in.

I'm on version 1.7
Latest PunkBustr, key verified.
When I pull up the console and type "connect x.x.x.x:x", it just says awaiting connection, counts up to 11 and then says server timed out. :S

^Looks like you are using wrong IP or your ports aren't forward.

Check whether your ports are forward for playing COD4.

Hello ,

I have a problem Hosting server on Cod4 through game ranger . I host the server , the game plays for me but i keep on waiting for players and they cant join although they can join my room but they cant enter my hosted server . when the game starts i get an error from the Punk buster on the bottom left corner saying

" Punk buster Server : New connection ( Slot#1) loop back [] MY Name (seq11034096)
Punk Buster client : WARNING : PB Kicks for non standard character and level 1 PB restrictions on this server"

I dont know whether its a game problem .. its punkbuster or my internet ? what is going on i have bin searching for this damn issue and nothing yet
this is my first post frankly i have never posted here but now i need help

i will be looking forward for a positive solution as soon as possilbe

I've just installed the game with 1.7 patch.
But i couldnt find the proper mp crack. Can anyone plz provide me a crack asap ?
& also punkbuster didnt show call of duty anymore so how to do pb ?

I found it on google that mp crash is due to win8 so i just inserted my mic & the game started but it shows v 1.5.something why not 1.7 when its fully updated?
Punkbuster problem is still there. it no longer supports cod so how & where to do this ?

get it updated and try CoD4 1.7 servers of PTCL , pb is no more supported so no use updating

I don't share pirated links, u can search online, i'm sure u will get lots
lots of people playing, that error is due to bad iwd or modified game file
