[h=1]'Substantial' GTA 5 Story DLC Coming in 2014[/h] [h=2]Heists coming to GTA Online in 2014, too.[/h]
Rockstar Games has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V's first story-centric add-on will arrive in 2014, and stars the original cast of Michael, Trevor, and Franklin.
On Rockstar's Newsire, the developer said, "we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."
Additionally, Rockstar detailed the future of its online multiplayer. A bigger update hits this week, with deathmatch and the race creator beta rolling out. Later in the month, we'll see four Capture mode variants -- Raid, Contend, Hold, and GTA -- which Rockstar will detail soon. Finally, on the subject of online heist missions, the developer wrote, "Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year."

Rockstar has plenty more to announce for GTA 5 in the future, as well.

Fight for exclusive import rights at Los Santos International in one of the new Capture mode Jobs in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Capture - the newest addition to the collection of team-based modes in Grand Theft Auto Online, will be available tomorrow as part of the latest free automatic update on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. With 20 new Jobs across four unique modes, this GTA twist on classic capture the flag style confrontations brings a whole new level of adversarial action to the world of Los Santos and Blaine County. Strategy plays a huge role as you run decoys, set traps and place obstacles to ensure your enemies don’t get close to your goods. These new Jobs are accessible in Freemode and spread across the four different modes described below. Read on for more details and previews of a few of our faves:

RAID
In Raid, you'll have to fight your way into your opponents' base and steal a package, then deliver it back to your base to score points. Reach the target score, or deliver more packages than your opponents do in the allotted time to win the match.

"Beachin"
Legal highs and bad t-shirts aren't the only things being pushed on Vespucci Beach. Four factions raid each other's stashes for control of the area's 'tourist trade'. Take product back to your spot and it's yours.

"Wargames"
Like any military operation, when things kick off at Fort Zancudo Air Base, they escalate pretty quickly. Teams stockpiling weapons to sell on the black market raid each other's bases at either end of the facility. If they get the goods back, they're banked. Nothing's off limits to be used here, including the fighter jets.

HOLD
When playing Hold, teams must collect and store as many packages as possible in their base. Packages can either be found on the map, or stolen from the opposing team’s bases. Reach the target score, or hold the most packages when the time runs out, to win.

"Block Party"
Gang violence escalates in Chamberlain Hills, as block fights block at close quarters. Four factions with two packages each try to raid each other and protect their own stuff. If they get someone else's product back to their turf, they'll have to protect it.

Compete to get buses back to your base in 'All Abhorred'.
GTA
As the ubiquitous acronym might suggest, GTA mode tasks players with stealing target vehicles located all around the map, before bringing them back to their respective bases. Each team must fight to steal more vehicles in the allotted time than their opponents.

"My Maibatsu"
Four East Los car thief outfits compete to get hold of a shipment of Sanchez dirt bikes, and store them back at their bases, while preventing the other teams from doing the same. First place to look would be the Maibatsu Factory.

"Field of Screams"
A tractor shortage in Grapeseed leads to farmyard chaos. It's harvest time, and two rival gangs compete to bring a Fieldmaster tractor back to their bases. Farming is a deadly serious business in Blaine County.

CONTEND
In Contend, there's only one package, situated in the middle of the map. Teams must fight to bring this package back to their respective bases, and once the package is captured it respawns in the middle of the map and is up for grabs again.

"Salty Snatch"
Dog walkers and surfing talent agents look out - two import operations at either end of Chumash Beach are fighting over a shipment that's landed on the pier. Any product they can get to their spot in the sand is theirs to keep.

The contested package at the heart of a firefight.
Capture will be available as part of tomorrow's automatic update for GTA Online, which also includes a host of fixes and dynamic tuning updates. For details on those please check out the Rockstar Support page.

Yea they did say they werent going to do story DLC. Im glad they are.

I dont think so, southern sa is where Los Santos and Blaine County is. They may release the North Yankton eventually as a paid DLC map in the future but they havent confirmed it yet.

Speaking of North Yankton, the glitch where you can visit North Yankton for free roam in GTAO will be patched in tomorrows patch.

I am thinking of taking my GPU out, wrap it nicely and put it in a closet somewhere until GTA comes out so it won't die. :D Gotta make the sacrifice of not playing games till then though.

I am pretty sure they said we can transfer GTA Online saves from Ps3/x360 consoles to next gen consoles. Not SP saves.

I am excited. I will definitely buy this again for next gen. Now I am glad many games have been delayed to 2015 or else I would have to sell myself to afford all the games.

GTA V already looked better than any game on the current systems, having seen the recent batch of comparison images I am kinda excited to see this on the next generation systems.
Its going to be dry spell for gaming till MID 2015 anyway, probably the best time for them to release this gem.

[h=2]Don't say GTA's next update three times fast[/h][h=3]Cunning stunts above Sos Lantos, coming Tuesday[/h]

A new, surreal series of race events will be coming to Grand Theft Auto Online with its next update on Tuesday, and you probably shouldn't say its name aloud in polite company.
It's called "Cunning Stunts," and the tracks take place in the skies high above Los Santos. The courses feature loops, tubes and figure-8 layouts and launch players through rings of fire and other spectacular hazards.

To support the races, Grand Theft Auto Online will also release new vehicles, including supercars, sports cars and motorbikes. These will also come with the requisite cosmetic items for player characters, in the form of racing suits, helmets and the like.

[h=1]GTA Online’s third anniversary comes with $250K in-game bonus for everyone[/h]
[h=2]Discounts and a Halloween item, too[/h]

Grand Theft Auto 5 publisher Rockstar Games is marking the three-year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto Online by giving a special cash gift to everybody in the game, the company announced today.
All GTA 5 players who log in to GTA Online on PlayStation 4, Windows PC or Xbox One from today through Oct. 31 will receive a gift of GTA$250,000, the mode’s in-game currency. The funds will be deposited into players’ Maze Bank accounts by Nov. 4.
GTA Online originally launched Oct. 1, 2013 — two weeks after GTA 5 itself debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 — with severe server issues that plagued the game for days. The mode has come a long, long way since then, with Rockstar having delivered numerous free content updates to add elements like multiplayer heists.
Rockstar is taking a look back at all those updates with an anniversary sale that offers discounts of 30 percent on weapons, vehicles, clothes and other in-game content. The deals highlight “fan-favorite items” that Rockstar added in various updates over the years, such as the Luxor Deluxe private plane from the Ill-Gotten Gains: Part One update. Rockstar’s sale runs through Nov. 7, and the company is temporarily disabling rank and completion requirements so everybody will be able to use the items.

This week, Rockstar is celebrating another special occasion in GTA Online: Halloween. A spooky new motorcycle, the skull-fronted LCC Sanctus, will arrive Oct. 28. The bike will be accompanied by a new mode, Lost vs. Damned, that pits Angels and Devils against each other. With a day/night cycle that switches every minute — of course, the Angels do better in the light while the Devils rule the darkness — this battle will rage for a while. Rockstar is also reviving some classic Halloween items from years past.
For more on GTA Online’s third anniversary, check out the Rockstar Newswire.

Update: While Rockstar is giving GTA$250,000 to all GTA Online players, the company also subtracted funds — sometimes in massive amounts — from the accounts of players who used exploits and mods to accrue absurd bankrolls of in-game cash.

In a post on the Rockstar Support site, the company said it “removed illegitimately gained in-game money from player accounts” in an effort to “keep the gameplay environment fair.” Players can spend GTA Dollars on items like fancy cars and powerful weapons, so cheaters with inflated bank accounts can take over the open-world multiplayer game.
Rockstar continued, “If you received an alert saying that your shared bank balance was adjusted, that is because you had illegitimate funds in your account.”
Some of the affected users lost a Scrooge McDuckian cache of ill-gotten GTA Dollars. A player who goes by the name Carbine King tweeted a screenshot (via Kotaku) in which the game told him it had “corrected [his] GTA Dollars” by removing nearly GTA$118 trillion from his account. Carbine King was not pleased with the discovery:
Rockstar pic.twitter.com/0KOPTw2vzS
— Carbine King (@CarbineKing) October 25, 2016
Rockstar said that it only erased GTA Dollars that players obtained illegitimately. Players who added funds to their account by purchasing Shark Cards, a microtransaction in which players can spend real money on GTA Dollars, will not lose any in-game funds from what Rockstar calls the “GTA Online October 2016 Illegitimately Gained In-Game Money Removal.”

[h=1]GTA Online’s next expansion puts the theft of autos back in Grand Theft Auto[/h]

[h=2]Import/Export coming soon to GTA 5[/h]

Grand Theft Auto Online's next update will introduce the Import/Export addition, which fixates on the theft and sale of high-end automobiles — much like the title's meaning.
Import/Export works off the supply chains brought in with the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony addition launched in June. From the description on Rockstar Newswire, it sounds like vehicle thefts will take planning and tactics rather than smash-and-grab chases.
Heads of the import/export operation will curate garages of up to 60 vehicles for sale, plus an auto shop for additional customizations. It all puts the Auto back in Grand Theft Auto.
Special vehicles will be introduced to assist the job. One appears to be a ramp-like car that looks like something out of Disney's 1981 adventure comedy Condorman. Alas, poor Condorman. You came too early to get your proper video game adaptation.

[h=1]GTA Online lets you wreak havoc with Knight Rider’s car[/h]

[h=2]Yes, it has turbo boost[/h]

This is not a mod. It’s one of the new, exotic vee-hickles offered with the Import/Export update that launched with Grand Theft Auto Online’s Import/Export update yesterday.
It’s KITT! Well, it’s the “Imponte Ruiner 2000,” and it doesn’t talk to you in the voice of that guy from St. Elsewhere. The IR 2000 packs the firepower of a Buzzard copter, meaning it has machine guns, missiles and homing missiles, plus a turbo boost.
Plainly, the people at Rockstar want their gamers to recreate this in GTA Online.

The car isn’t cheap, though; it’ll set you back $5,745,600; $4,320,000 if you have the preferred SecuroServ status within the mode. That makes it the most expensive land vehicle within Grand Theft Auto Online. See more about it at the GTA Wiki.

[h=1]GTA Online griefers get their comeuppance, and it’s glorious[/h]

[h=2]Don’t mess with the Gurntmobile[/h]

Grand Theft Auto Online, the online multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto 5, has over time morphed into a unique experience that is very much its own thing, a place with its own rules and quirks that would likely confuse newcomers. Of course, there are plenty of jerks in the wide-open world of Los Santos and Blaine County, the kind of people who would screw with you just for the fun of it. So here’s a story of one player who exploited the rules of GTA Online, turning them against his would-be griefers.
Aaron Reynolds, the curator of Twitter accounts such as Batman 66 Labels, is a 42-year-old father of three who describes himself as “awful at video games.” He bought his children a PlayStation 4 for Christmas, and dove into GTA Online. It did not go well.
“Operation: One Million Dollar Car was born”
One of the first concepts you learn in GTA Online is that you can insure cars, and that you definitely should get insurance for personal vehicles — if they’re impounded by the police or destroyed, the only way to get them back is to file an insurance claim. (No, seriously.)
Reynolds found a nice car or two and tried to take them to in-game auto body shops, which is where you go to customize a vehicle. But as Reynolds discovered, trolls like to lie in wait at the body shops and destroy cars that people bring in. So he decided to fight back by using the insurance system against the griefers.

Under the theft/loss prevention program in GTA Online, if another player destroys your car, they get hit with a “Bad Sport” penalty — making them responsible for the claim fee, which is 1.25 percent of the car’s value. Reynolds got to work customizing an old-school muscle car to the tune of $1 million:
So I made a car so pointlessly, ridiculously customized that it is worth over a million dollars in the game. The Gurntmobile. #o1mdc pic.twitter.com/7X2JpxUWTc
— Aaron Reynolds (@aaronreynolds) January 17, 2017
Then I cruised around, looking for people hanging out by body shops. When I found them, I cruised in slow and let them wreck my car. #o1mdc
— Aaron Reynolds (@aaronreynolds) January 17, 2017
Then I made my insurance claim, in game, and then listened to their wails and cries as they lost all their money. #o1mdc
— Aaron Reynolds (@aaronreynolds) January 17, 2017
If you do the math, 1.25 percent of $1 million is $12,500 — not an insignificant sum in the world of GTA Online. Players soon figured out the ruse and began warning each other about the blue menace, which Reynolds had christened the “Gurntmobile” after his in-game character. That forced Reynolds to change things up, and it worked beautifully:
Thus, Gurntmobile 2 was born. She’s a beauty. #o1mdc pic.twitter.com/HS4Xl8IstG

[h=1]Grand Theft Auto 5 tops 75 million units shipped[/h]
It keeps going and going and going

Rockstar Games has shipped more than 75 million copies of Grand Theft Auto 5 worldwide, parent company Take-Two Interactive announced today.
The news came in an investor release for the third quarter of Take-Two’s 2017 fiscal year, which ends March 31; the third quarter ran from October-December 2016. The company’s most recent update on GTA 5 sales came in early November, when it said it had shipped over 70 million units. That means that Rockstar shipped approximately 5 million more copies of the game in the past three months, and about 15 million over the past year.
Take-Two said that both GTA 5 and its online component, Grand Theft Auto Online, have surpassed expectations in “every quarter since their release.” Rockstar originally released the game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, then ported it to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014 and Windows PC in April 2015.
GTA 5 may be well over three years old, but these ever-growing sales figures indicate that plenty of people are still picking it up: Physical and digital sales of GTA 5 made it the sixth highest-selling game in the U.S. last year, according to data from the NPD Group.

And thanks to GTA Online, those GTA 5 owners are continuing to play the game and spend more money on it. Take-Two said it recorded a “record number of players in December” in GTA Online, and the company now expects that revenue from the mode will be up for the full 2017 fiscal year, making it GTA Online’s best year to date.
Take-Two added that “many more” free content updates for GTA Online are on the way this year. Early next month, Rockstar will end support for transferring GTA Online characters from last-generation versions of GTA 5.

[h=1]Rockstar urges Take-Two to ease off on Grand Theft Auto modders[/h]

[h=2]A popular modding tool may come back from the brink[/h]

Rockstar has issued a statement through its support knowledge base solidifying their support for user-created mods of its games.

“Rockstar Games believes in reasonable fan creativity, and, in particular, wants creators to showcase their passion for our games,” the post begins. “After discussions with Take-Two, Take-Two has agreed that it generally will not take legal action against third-party projects involving Rockstar’s PC games that are single-player, non-commercial, and respect the intellectual property (IP) rights of third parties.”
This statement seems to be a response to the Grand Theft Auto 5 community’s intense negative reaction to publisher Take-Two Interactive’s cease-and-desist order against the creator of OpenIV, a long-standing modding tool for Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Max Payne 3. Rockstar Games said that Take-Two’s decision was based on the fact that “OpenIV enables recent malicious mods that allow harassment of players and interfere with the GTA Online experience for everybody.”
In the wake of Take-Two’s order, Steam users hammered Grand Theft Auto 5’s store pagewith negative reviews, plummeting it to “Overwhelmingly Negative” status.

One caveat to this new agreement between Rockstar and Take-Two is that it does not apply to mods that affect online multiplayer, which was the reason given for the order against OpenIV. Another exception is made against the “use or importation of other IP (including other Rockstar IP),” which does not bode well for canceled fan-developed remakes like Red Dead Redemption V.
Rockstar has confirmed that it has reached out to OpenIV’s developer Yuriy "Good-NDS" Krivoruchko in an attempt to resolve this dispute.
