That attachment is replacing the buttons not adding more right? Thats a start i guess
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
Yeah with that really late ds4 attachment I thought for sure it meant they might be standard on ds5 but guess not
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Actually gameplay enhancing feature would be back pedal buttons... and its a shame its still not a standard on either controller
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
but, most games just ended up using it as a big map button
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
hell, the touch pad itself has 4 different zones, so if nothing it can act as 4 additional buttons which a bunch of games used for quick navigation
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
touch pad had some good uses but only a few games utilized it fully
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the light bar was a useless addition that i can agree on
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
One only adding to its bad battery life
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Light bar and touch pad was the most useless things on it
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Lets see if more than a handful titles use it because on PS4 the support is beyond terrible. Bunch a titles here or there thats it.
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
obviously most developers have to keep multi platform development in mind so not a lot of games will make full use of them
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
gyro, touch pad and haptic feedback are some nice future proofing features, but obviously its up to a developer to fully utilize them
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Its a moot point, both console dont allow switching controllers so yeah....
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
lol @ gimmicks being gameplay enhancing
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the other controller is $70 but it has the objectively better charging solution and has more game play enhancing features than its counterpart
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Wait DS4 can be used on batteries?
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the 'objectively' better solution is supported on both, however on one you have to pay up to $85 dollars on the basic controller to avail it :p
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
If DS4 had a AA variant, i wouldve bought that instead
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Oh well, one controller supports both methods so that automatically makes it objectively the better choice
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
they've had the option to keep DS4 in USB or BT mode while charging for a few years now, shouldn't really be an issue unless your group doesn't go into system settings at all
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Bad thing is you gotta sit around the console and get terrible latency in wired mode while tht happens
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
and on PS4s you can choose to have the controller stay in blue tooth mode while charging, so the latency you talked about is not an issue
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
the good thing is you can still play while charging :p
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
We've had so many local FiFa sessions where batteries needing to be recharged in the middle of play sessioms have been nothing but a hassle
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
both have their detractors but I would warrant a guess that more people would prefer a built in battery
    Link
