[h=1]February’s Xbox Games With Gold include Project CARS, Monkey Island 2[/h]

[h=2]A lovely lineup[/h]

Microsoft is gearing up for Valentine’s Day with Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime as one of four Xbox Games With Gold titles for February, the company announced today.
The co-op indie game from Asteroid Base will be available free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers all month long. The other Xbox One game for February, the Digital Edition of Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS, will be free from Feb. 16 to March 15.
Xbox 360 owners will get two games as well during the month of February; both of them are from LucasArts. From Feb. 1-15, Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge will be the free game of choice. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be available free from Feb. 16-28, which is slightly less than half the month because February is weirdly short.
As always, the Games With Gold titles on Xbox 360 are playable on Xbox One via the console’s backward compatibility program. For more Games With Gold downloads, check out the January games.

[h=1]Xbox Games With Gold brings you Borderlands 2, Evolve in March[/h]

[h=2]It’s springtime on Pandora ... somewhere[/h]

March will be a 2K Games-heavy month for the Xbox Games With Gold lineup, with both Borderlands 2 and Evolve on the list, Microsoft announced today.
Gearbox Software’s open-world shooter will be available free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers from March 1-15 on Xbox 360 (and Xbox One, via backward compatibility). The backward-compatible Xbox 360 game for the second half of the month is 2008’s Heavy Weapon, a retro arcade shooter from PopCap games.
The Xbox One titles coming in March are both terrifying in their own ways. All month long, Gold members will be able to download a free copy of Layers of Fear, the horror game from Bloober Team. The Ultimate Edition of Evolve, the asymmetric multiplayer shooter from Turtle Rock Studios, will be free from March 16 through April 15. It’s worth noting that Evolve’s servers are still online — for now — even though Turtle Rock is no longer working on the game.
In the meantime, you can still pick up three of the four Games With Gold titles from FebruaryLovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Project CARS and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

[h=1]Xbox Games With Gold for April features some amazing games[/h]
[h=2]This is a stellar month, for real[/h]

April’s collection of Xbox Games With Gold titles is one of the best months for the program we’ve seen in a long, long time. Three of the best games of the past two console generations will be on offer for Xbox Live subscribers beginning April 1.
For the entire month, 2016’s fantastic (and fantastically hard) puzzle game The Witnesswill be free to all Xbox Live members. Two weeks later, on April 16, subscribers will be able to pick up Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, one of the most acclaimed entries in the long-running franchise. That offer is good through May 15.
On the backward-compatible Xbox 360 games front, Dead Space 2will be available for free on the same day as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Last and — no offense — least,the video game adaptation ofCars 2stands as the least exciting of the lineup, but hey — can’t complain about a free game, right? That giveaway runs from April 1 until April 15.
In short, Xbox One owners have a super solid month ahead of them. Watch the trailer above for highlights from the April selection of Games With Gold titles.

[h=1]Xbox Games With Gold for May 2018: Metal Gear Solid 5, Super Mega Baseball 2[/h]

[h=2]Vanquish and Streets of Rage collection also coming to Xbox One[/h]
Xbox Live’s Games With Gold for May 2018 are Super Mega Baseball 2, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Vanquishand all the Streets of Rage series from the Sega Vintage Collection. That’s according to this unlisted (but official) video, spied today by Wario64and earlier in the week by others.
We’re looking forward to Super Mega Baseball 2, as its predecessor was our Sports Video Game of the Year for 2014. The followup just got a release date — May 1 — (it’s also coming to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and it’s $29.99 for them and those who don’t have Xbox Live Gold). So if you have a Gold subscription, you get a brand-new video game with a solid pedigree.
Metalhead’s followup will deliver online multiplayer, whose absence in the first Super Mega Baseball was that game’s only real shortcoming. The sequel also offers retooled player models, which are still stylized but not as cartoony as the original’s. The Ego variable difficulty and “mojo” buff and debuff system, both of which we liked in the original, get a coat of polish also.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain needs little introduction; the 2015 swan song for Hideo Kojima at Konami was one of our top-scoring reviews that year and Kojima’s acrimonious departure from his longtime employer only hardened fans’ appreciation of his final work in that series. The Phantom Pain was previously offered on PlayStation Plus in October 2017.
Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage is also familiar to longtime Sega Genesis fans, but it should be be noted this encompasses all three of the games in the brawler series. The originals launched between 1992 and 1994 and were brought back to Xbox 360 in May 2012; this is backward compatible for the Xbox One, as all 360 Games With Gold are from now on.
PlatinumGames’ Vanquish, originally launched 2010, likewise has a devoted following that should appreciate having it available to the latest hardware. Criticized for a short campaign and low replay value (and no multiplayer), Vanquish still turned heads for its visual polish and rockin’ third-person shooter action. It will be available beginning May 16.
Friendly reminder that The Witness, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Dead Space 2 arecurrently available through Games With Gold. The Witness and Dead Space 2 are being offered through April 30, with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate available to May 15. That’s a solid lineup of fan favorites, a new offering and big triple-A names straddling the next 39 days.

[h=1]Xbox Games With Gold offers Sonic racing, Assassin’s Creed in June[/h]
[h=2]$100 Smite bundle also goes free[/h]

June’s lineup of free Xbox Games With Gold titles includes spinoff entries in two of gaming’s biggest franchises, Assassin’s Creed and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Kicking things off is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, the third and final game in Climax Studios’ series of side-scrolling platformers featuring new Assassin protagonists. Originally released in February 2016, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia will be available free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox One for the duration of June.
The other Xbox One game for the month is Smite, the multiplayer online battle arena game featuring various gods and mythological figures. Smite is a free-to-play title, but Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get the game’s Gold Bundle — whose contents, which include items exclusive to Gold members, are valued at $99.99 — for free from June 16 to July 15.
On Xbox 360, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be available free from June 1-15, while Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues will be free for the second half of the month. Both games will be playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility.
In the meantime, you can still pick up some of May’s free titles, including the terrific indie baseball game Super Mega Baseball 2.
