In the World Cup you wanna see the best players play. Some of the injuries that've occurred these past weeks/months have taken some shine off this WC, tbh.
Conditions will favour South American teams, but I can't see past Spain when it comes to European teams.

P.s. AbbY, how about adding a prediction poll?

How about a prediction thread instead. Like the kind we had for EPL 2 seasons ago?

Ribery's ouster is a huge blow. Not that the World Cup has any quality football on display but it's always nice to see star individual players perform.

Falcao and Nasri are two notable omissions as well.

Good idea, though I doubt that thread will see much activity. I was asking for one poll for the WC winner, instead of the match-by-match basis of the EPL.

On topic, Reus may be out of the WC as well. Got injured last night in friendly.

If France were going to win one match this time, they won't win even that. :p

That's really sad, though. France wouldn't have made it here without Ribery.

And Nasri didn't deserve to be in the squad, tbh.

What do you guys think of Belgium? They have a more than decent team this time in Januzaj, Vermaelan, Lukaku, Fellaini and Hazard amongst others.

Experts are calling them this tournament's "Dark Horses".

Belgium is good but they lack experience playing together @ national level.
I think Columbia will surprise quite a few people in this tournament, even without their talisman Falcao.
& Germany is best team for me in this tournament.

You really think they can pull that off? Their defence aint the best.

Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk
they have conceded just 15 goals in 16 games and are on their way to topping South America’s World Cup qualifying group, they have four consecutive clean sheets in exhibition matches against Ecuador, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and Trinidad and Tobago........

Argentina choked in an epic fashion to a far more organized German team in the previous edition. Not that the past really matters in the present but I'm not touting them for the trophy till the very last game. They have a history of faltering at the knockout hurdle.

Brazil demolished Spain in the Confederations Cup final last year. Add home advantage and you've got your hot favourites.

Courtois, Kompany, van Buyten, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Hazard, Januzaj, de Bruyne, Fellaini, Mirallas, Lukaku etc. Quite a squad although I don't expect a lot from them due to a lack of team chemistry. Big hopes everywhere from the Germany squad though I reckon they'll choke again. Feel sorry for Germany and France with 2 key players of their teams missing out due to injury.

I'm expecting Brazil to bag the trophy this time. Germany to choke semi's-ish. Just no more Spain please. Sick of them winning everything year after year.
