Quick Update

1) Advance Search Feature is back and live...actually its faster than before.

2) Advanced activity bars have been setup, some configuration is needed. We plan to use it with exclusive perks, giveways, achivements and tracking members for different promotions and xtreme memberships.

3) PakGamers Xtreme membership is going to be looked into. Right now alot of old members, who are not busy on forums have got this status. Xtreme members were the ones who stood out amongst the crowd.

Be it due to their activity, post quality, helpfulness and online/offline contributions to the forum. We dont want to make it a position people hog on forever without being present on the forum...so expect some old ones make way for new members..it might just be you

Brilliant updates, looks alot more engaging now. Earlier it was just post counts but now we have many bars to keep full :D
And Xtreme members thing is indeed good, members should be ranked as per their activity and participation.
I asked once but didnt get any info as when is PG's birthday? It can be converted into some meetups events which might become like Pakwheels Autoshow few years from now and our very own PGCon down the road

Great updates.

Some more suggestions for improvement:

- Avoid feature creep (i.e. more features will likely break the system. Especially when you are not pruning the inactive sections or unused features).
= Inclusion of activity bars has actually raised the vertical height of the post, hence more scrolling and visual noise.
- More Aesthetically pleasing theme (No radical designs)

PG has a lot of features, the design however, is dated.

PS: You can apply 80/20 rule. Focus on +-20% of most active sections and focus on improving them first.

Best of luck.

That's already in my mind, once I am done with the finalization of the activity module, scrolling will be decreased! I have an idea in my mind already for this and lastly fine tuning and enhancement of the current theme is already in the implementation pipeline :)

Great. Just avoid radical change which can shock the users. An improvement on current theme is the best case scenario. Consistency will go a long way.

Why, is it something physical that you guys handed out that we're 'hogging'?

metaphorical 'hogging' ammar..metaphorical

there are some "Xtreme"s who havent logged in for 1,2,3 years ...the questions is, should they even be called xtremes ? Not being active defeats the purpose of being called Xtreme and the idea, in the first place

Good going. Xtreme members are underestimated at this forum. For me Xtreme members should be the one helping members at first glance. Their feedback should be valuable.

Also can you elaborate how this points etc system will work? Or there is detailed news coming up ahead?

While making this change to the xtreme rank, you could also acknowledge previously xtreme members by giving them an xtreme achievement.

It could be like "xtreme x5". Which would mean they lost and gained the xtreme rank 5 times.

Also, thinking along these lines. What do you think about having "seasons" in PG?

For example, season 1 starts. Based on activity etc, people get ranked. At certain time intervals, people get rewarded with a big reward at the end of the season, "the championship" if you will. Then all ranks reset and season 2 starts.

Kinda like rocket league :p

Season ? it would make PG a funny game.

As for Xtreme X5. well, that's interesting. Can be a good practice. However, repetition will kill the importance/impact

If it is something we can automatically implement..why not...but if it requires manual watch, it would be a huge issue .

Never in favour of manual things (except manual transmission). So there should be a way to implement it programmatically.

Activity bars look great however i have a query, does this bar monitors how actively you post or how much time you spend online?

And, the awards tray seems misplaced and takes a lot of extra space also, imo it was better at the bottom

The bars don't sit well with the current theme and look out of place.

Perhaps some more better integration can be done?

We need to give this feature a month to collect data and then we can optimize it.
I agree that it doesnt look that pretty right now, but it hopefully soon will.
Hassan I am still trying to figure out if its post based or presence based ...infy might know better

Yes it does, further I haven't fine tuned it cosmetically yet!

Nice changes, aesthetically its all over the place really. Too much vertical space is taken. Also, not too rain on the parade too much but does the activity has any 'real' purpose, or is it just there for the sake of it? :p
