Elden Ring [OT] Shadow of the Erdtree expansion announced

"As somebody who's played all of Miyazaki's games over at least the last decade, this is clearly the most ambitious game that he's done," he says. "I mean, I love his games, but seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he's tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story. I love it."

The other creator Spencer mentions is, of course, Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, who has worked on the story for the upcoming open world game.

According to Spencer, Elden Ring is Miyazaki "expanding his horizons." He also says that leaves the room while Spencer plays. "I think that's because I'm a bad player, and then when he comes back we'll have a conversation about things that I think," he says. "He's so passionate about what he does. It's one of the things I just love about getting to work with him on some of these games and seeing them come to our platform."

"expanding his horizons."

This is exactly what I want from From Software. Breaking away from the tired Souls formula got us Sekiro so this sounds great. Really hope we get to see gameplay soon.

So I started off as a confessor. Got my ass handed over by the tree sentinal. Leveled up 6-7 levels and then kicked his ass with torrent, which i think really is a way to cheese it. I think I put a lot of points in STR which I am regretting so i might just start over again with a DEX + INT built in mind.

Although I have just begun, I do feel that the game is alot more accessible than any previous FromSoft games that I have played, especially since the bonfires are so close to the bosses. I do miss the more active movement (mainly sidestep) of Sekiro and BB though. On the other hand, the world itself feels so overwhelming for starters. There is no conventional map, no precise direction to go towards, not knowing the level caps of various areas. Combine that with the already complex conventional RPG mechanics of From, I mean its daunting when you first start off.

Dex is a better choice. For directions, follow the direction pointed to by some sites of grace, they are like beams of light pointing in a certain direction after you activate them. You find maps on dead bodies around graces, explore as much as you can.

Finished off Margit and Godrick... Man, the design of Stormveil castle is absolutely incredible....

The mage built has definitely eased alot of my woes. I am actually using more of a hyrid build with the staff in left hand and Rapier for the right hand. Also i was teleported to Caelid by a treasure chest. That area had some very high level enemies but i was fortunate to get my hands on the Meteorite staff and then ran back to Limgrave :p

Planning to explore the Academy of Lurnia (Narnia / Lucria ? or whatever the name was) next.

Looks like someone never found the Carthus Milkring in Dark Souls 3 🤣
Looks like someone doesn't know one of the trophies/achievements was to collect all rings 🤣

The Carthus Milkring is no different from the Simpleton ring in DkS2. Both make you invisible while rolling. It didn't apply to quickstep. Here it does 🤜

Now show us how you played this boss aka the sluggish way 🤣
You ought to appreciate it, cuz I did it the Sekiro way 🤣

LMAO they're literally the same animations, the only difference is distance/invisibility.

Aisa hi hota hai when you're blindly collecting items for the sake of trophies 🤣

Try again to cover up your "sluggish" remark CerebralTiger. Maybe you'll find another item that gets rids of animation priooooorities 🤷‍♂️🤣

So you agree the animations are still copy pasted from the signature sluggish games 👍🤣

Mobility dependent and restricted by FP stats. But don't stop, believin'. If an item in God of War turned the game into Bayonetta for you, maybe you'll finding something similar here too 🤷‍♂️🤣
