Asus' latest transforming tablet switches between Android 4.2.2 and Windows 8.1, It barely got a mention at Intel's CES 2014 press conference this evening, but Dual OS is real. The company confirmed that Intel processors will power computers that can switch between Windows and Android with the press of a button, just like the Asus Transformer Book Duet we tried earlier today.

Transformer Book Duet TD300 Specification

  • Dual-OS - Windows 8.1 Standard / Android 4.2.2
  • 13.3-inch Full HD IPS multi-touch display
  • Up to Intel® Core™ i7 processor
  • 4GB DDR3L 1600 RAM
  • Up to 128GB SSD in Tablet
  • Up to 1TB HDD in Dock
  • 38WHr battery, estimated battery life around 5 hours in Windows 8.1 and 6 hours in Android 4.2.2.
  • 802.11ac Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR
  • Tablet ports: Micro SD card, Headphone jack, DC jack
  • Keyboard dock ports: 1 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, 10/100Mbit/s LAN, HDMI 1.4, audio combo jack, DC jack

The Core i3 model with 13.3in, 1,366 x 768 TN display is set to retail at $599, while a Full-HD IPS panel upgrade adds a further $100 to the price. The tablet sports either a 64GB or 128GB SSD, while the keyboard base holds anything from a 320GB HDD to a 1TB HDD. Whichever specification you choose, 4GB is reserved for shared storage that can be accessed by both operating systems. Of course, as the HDD is in the base, you can only access data on the HDD while the tablet is docked.

Despite using standard Intel Haswell processors, it’s capable of flitting between Android and Windows in only four seconds. Press a button along the keyboard’s top edge and the OSes swap places, the familiar Android homescreen replacing that of Windows 8.1.

Hands-on with the dual-OS Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 | Stuff

Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 review: first look | PC Pro blog

Key Notes:

* NO Windows RT, Its real Windows 8.1 Running on Forth Generation Core i3 Processor
* Toggle instances of Windows 8.1 and Android 4.1 in about 4 seconds
* The Duet allows for quick switching between the two via a dedicated button

It was neither Windows emulating on Android nor vice versa, this makes it even more impressing, I can see a lot of Dualboot Laptops/Tabs coming near future. Probably Dual Boot Phones as well, Let's Talk about it :D

Impressive I must say. Although I'm still not sure how useful Android would be on a tablet running Windows 8. The latter OS is enough for day to day work unless someone is an avid Android gamer .

Another Dual Boot Laptop/Laptab, Judging from Its Specfication, it seems like a lowend model

Micromax outed its new Canvas Laptab at CES 2014 and got a chance to take it out for a spin. The device is a part of a new trend of devices that’s able to dual-boot both Android 4.2.2 and Windows 8.1, and seamlessly switch between them.

The tablet runs on a 1.46GHz Intel Celeron processor and has a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. There is 2GB of RAM, a 2MP front camera, 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 64 GB, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, and a 7400 mAh battery.

The tablet can also be converted into a laptop thanks to a transleeve cover and an attachable keyboard which has its own 230 mAh battery.
The Canvas Lap Tab, along with the accessories, will be hitting stores in the month of February. The price of the device hasn’t been confirmed yet, but will update you as soon as we have more information.

Here are the full specifications of the Micromax Canvas Lap Tab:

• 10.1 inch IPS Display with 1280x800 pixel resolution
• 1.46GHz Celeron N2805 Processor
• 2GB RAM
• 32GB internal Storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card
• 2MP Front Camera
• 2MP Rear Camera with Light Sensor
• 7400 mAh Battery
• Dual Boot OS – Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Windows 8.1
• Wi-Fi, Bluetooth V4.0, A-GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack
• External mobile wireless keyboard / cover with built-in 230 mAh battery

@Lord Ammar Yeah Its useless because it doesn't dual boot Apple's OS X Maverick & iOS simultaneously.

@NaNoW Check first Post, I have added commercial/video

I want (y), love the utility of not having to carry two devices and not being any less productive or fun.

Plus this is probably gonna affordable for such a device

there is a whole range of products that do this ..they are called hybrid laptops

Again the price is gna be a major factor here....if they are comparable to end laptops, it will be great
the micromax thing will need to be tested rigorously ..I always assume the worst with these 2nd tier companies

micromax doesn't even have the specs worth of a full windows OS, but the duet can go upto a core i5, fhd screen, 4gb ram and decent storage options, pricing starts at 599USD or 699USD

Um, Android was MADE so smartphones could have their own OS because desktop OSes wouldn't run on them. I don't see the point in this. Why would we use 'apps' instead of perfectly crafted 'software' that we have on our PCs.

Not to mention there are barely any apps on Android that make use of 10-inch screens; let alone a 13-inch one.
