On a side note, even though I really like Dante, playing with Nero in DMC 4 was a blast. It was just too much fun and when I got to play with Dante, it was a chore at first, had to get use to it as Dante was a lot slower. Hell I died a lot with Dante just because playing with Nero was a lot more fluid, fun and easy.

This is exactly what I think; Dante was a lot slower than Nero and completely unneeded as far as the setting went. Nero's moves were buttery smooth and slick. Dare I say, Nero was much much better than DMC3 Dante in terms of balance between speed and combos. I never got tired of grabs and exceed commands.

Yep, those grabs of Nero were awesome. Maybe if we controlled Dante throughout the game, then he wouldn't have felt that slow or sluggish but switching from fast, fluid Nero to Tank Dante was a nightmare. That boss fight in the forest, the plant thingy, Echidina or something, was easy and fun with Nero but I got frustrated with Dante. Without grab, it was hell.

It was kinda obvious that Dante was added because of Fans lashing at Nero when he was - despite his single weapon - still tiers above Dante due to fluid and fast gameplay in conjugation with his grabs. I agree; initially starting with Dante was nothing short of nightmare. In DMD mode I never felt frustrated with Nero, but Dante just drove me up the wall because of his drastically slow gameplay.

All they need to do with this DmC is make it comparable to Nero's gameplay, and I think this will beat out all previous DMCs' in terms of move fluidity as I believe Nero is significantly better than DMC3's Dante. The number of move-variations one could perform with grabs, red-queen, and the exceed commands were brilliant.

I played the game again in HD after getting my screen back.

Textures are bad, really bad. Gameplay was fun again, I've gotten hang of everything now.

Slow dante? Which game you have been playing? The bosses were design for Nero and his devil bringer did alot of counter damages.

Was testing on my PC wanted to show that Dante is no where as nightmare and tank like you are talking about. He is actually more fun to play.

Sorry but i fail to see the evolution here... its gamers like me that play games as games and not some QTE driven movie.
i am afraid in all your posts you are simply too lost in definitions of whats gothic and whats not, whats a good story and whats not.... how can u even comment about the story without playing the full game?...i think you are simply being biast.

I do believe you have to know the genre before judging an action game, it tells you whats fun and whats not, whats evolved and whats not...seeing that your not, i cant take your opinion seriously....its not me its "you" who's pulling stupid irrelevant crap out of your "hind-quarters".

Simply saying that the older dante does not have personality is kind of absurd...you played what 20 minutes of the new demo and u now think your qualified to judge?...wow!...what about the fan base for the original dante?...are you the only person in the universe whose opinion matters?...i think all the paragraphs you typed saying the old dante does not have personality...you havent really explained WHY this new dante is better?

I always thought they reached the pinnacle of the series with DMC 3. 4 was a huge step down in every regard. Sure, 3 was still laughable in terms of enemy art and the overall artistic aspect of the game, but it had the best gameplay out of the lot and even the story was decent. The whole backtraking thing and for ALL of the damn levels till the point of climax with Nero was a huge chore.

I also agree with Nero was lot faster than Dante in terms of move fluidity. There is no denying it.

Backtracking sucked, Crapcom should have added new levels for Dante.
