Boys anyone still playing this? A bunch of us Ex-Team PG members have decided to revive the game, and have a great time while at it.

PS. We play on the PS4.

Man I just opened PG after months and surprised to see a Destiny thread semi-active here.

I've been playing Forsaken since launch and it's been the best managed release they've accomplished with the franchise, surpassing the hype for the Taken King by 10 or so miles. And with the release of the black armory, there's literally too much to do in the game that a weekly reset is honestly too short. It's the first time in the franchise where I feel genuinely confused when determining which activity I should commit my time to.

I think one of their designers said it best: Forsaken is an end-game with a campaign, not a campaign with an end-game; and this truly captures the heart of what this game has now become. Post-forsaken the activity list is daunting and the rewards are plentiful, and most importantly, meaningful for the most part.

Any Xbox people here can definitely party up with me. GT: USUF117

[h=1]Destiny 2’s next season reworks shotguns and more[/h]

[h=2]Bungie is also nerfing One-Eyed Mask, a powerful PvP exotic[/h]

In this week’s This Week at Bungie, Bungie’s weekly blog, the studio announced some big changes coming to Destiny 2 in Season of the Drifter. Gambit will be seeing some interesting changes, but the most impactful updates are coming to some of the game’s guns — namely shotguns.
Shotguns have been a cornerstone of players’ loadouts since the original Destiny— with a brief hiatus in Destiny 2 Year 1. On March 5, they’ll see some significant changes. In all PvE activities, shotguns will now deal double damage (except the exotic heavy shotgun, Legend of Acrius). Yet, the rate of fire — how many rounds they fire per minute, or RPM — of the most popular shotguns will decrease.
Shotguns with Full Auto will now only see an increase of 10 percent bonus firing rate, down from 100 percent. The firing rates of other shotguns are being adjusted as well. Aggressive shotguns are up from 45 RPM to 55 RPM. Precision shotguns are up from 55 RPM to 70 RPM. Lightweight shotguns are now 80 RPM — they were previously classified as 90 RPM, which was incorrect. Rapid-fire shotguns are down to 140 RPM from 200 RPM.
Shotguns have had their base damage decreased in some cases to compensate. But Bungie’s goal isn’t to cut shotguns from the meta — quite the opposite. Bungie stated that the goal for these changes is to create more viable shotguns in PvE play.
Before, it was inconceivable to take anything other than a rapid-fire shotgun like the IKELOS or the Threat Detector into a PvE activity — the faster it fired, the more damage it put out. But with the increase in damage and slowing of shotguns across the board, players should have more choices in what they carry into battle.
Bungie also stated that it’s “taken the opportunity to slightly adjust shotguns for the Crucible.” Shotguns will still remain powerful in the Crucible, but they won’t be able to one-shot kill from the same ranges as before. The extent of these changes aren’t clear, and Bungie should offer more information in the coming weeks.

Bungie is also adjusting linear fusion rifles in Season of the Drifter. All linear fusions will get a 10 percent increase in damage in PvE. However, the most popular linear fusion in PvP and Gambit, the exotic Queensbreaker, is having its aim assist adjusted to be more in line with other linear fusion rifles. This should make it much harder to use, making the gun more skill-based.
The popular Titan exotic One-eyed Mask is also getting a change next season. The Mark of Vengeance — which highlights a player when they attack the wearer — now only lasts eight seconds instead of 15. Bungie is adjusting the health refill on kill. Instead of instantly refilling player health, a player’s health (as well as their overshield) will refill over time. This means a Titan that wins a fight with One-eyed Mask won’t be able to instantly re-engage without healing. One-eyed’s healing perk will also no longer trigger at all when players are in their Super.
These changes should help players diversify their loadouts in the Season of the Drifter. For most Titans, One-eyed Mask was mandatory in PvP, like Queensbreaker in Gambit. Players spent two full seasons using the IKELOS shotgun, and only recently were able to add Threat Detector into the mix. These adjustments should make new weapons and armor pieces viable without completely killing players’ darlings.

[h=1]Destiny 2 confirmed for next-generation platforms[/h]

Destiny comes to its third console generation

On Thursday morning, Microsoft revealed several new games on Inside Xbox and debuted a brief look at next-generation gameplay. Xbox also tweeted out an image showcasing the names of well-known developers working on Xbox titles — including Bungie. Bungie then confirmed, via Twitter, that Destiny 2will come to next-generation platforms.
While only two sentences, Bungie’s tweet reveals quite a bit. The response is to Xbox, but the tweet specifies next-gen platforms — plural. This suggests that while Microsoft is the first company to announce to announce Destiny 2 for its next-gen console, the PS5 will see the game as well. This shouldn’t be a surprise to long-time Destiny fans used to the series’ old PlayStation exclusives, which have gone since Bungie’s departure from Activision.

Bungie’s most recent tweet confirms players will be able to continue playing their favorite space MMO on their new console this year. And while Bungie doesn’t mention cross-save in their tweet, it’s very likely players will be able to continue their same characters on their next-generation machine.

Bungie has yet to announce details on its fall expansion, when players can get their hands onDestiny 2 for next-generation consoles, if players will need to pay for the new version, or if the game will be better optimized. We expect to hear more information in the future.
Destiny is available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Destiny 2 is currently available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 — with it coming to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, this will be the franchise’s third console generation.

[h=1]Destiny 2 will finally destroy The Almighty spaceship on June 6[/h]

Watch out for falling debris

On May 26, The Almighty spaceship appeared in the sky above Destiny 2’s Tower social space. On June 2, the spaceship was noticeably closer to Destiny’s usual safe space. And it seems Rasputin will destroy it on Saturday, June 6.
At the start of Destiny 2’s current season, Season of the Worthy, players learned of a new threat against the Tower, the Traveler, and The Last City. The last remnants of the Red Legion — the bad guys from Destiny 2’s base campaign — set their giant, sun-destroying, planet-eating spaceship on a collision course with the last safe haven in our solar system.
For months, players worked to complete Seraph Tower public events and help Rasputin — an ancient, Russian super-computer — build satellites and missiles to stop The Almighty before it reached Earth. A new tweet from Bungie promises something will happen with The Almighty on June 6, but a recent bug in the game suggests the destruction of The Almighty won’t be a clean break for Guardians.

A few weeks ago, a Destiny 2 player accidentally glitched into the destroyed tower, spoiling that The Almighty would eventually crash. Assuming the tower battle damage will come this season, the social space will get some noticeable changes as a result of the event.
Based on Bungie’s wording in the tweet — “Rasputin is at full power” — players can likely earn the Seraph’s Wings emblem by watching whatever Bungie has planned for The Almighty (the in-game source for the emblem is listed as “Witness Rasputin’s Full Power”). Interested players can tune in at 1 p.m. ET. It’s unclear where this event will take place — presumably in-game and not on Bungie’s social channels — but The Almighty’s current visibility in the Tower suggests players should start there.

[h=1]Destiny 2 finally destroys The Almighty spaceship, damages the Tower[/h]

It took an hour, but we got there

It’s unclear where this event will take place — presumably in-game and not on Bungie’s social channels — but The Almighty’s current visibility in the Tower suggests players should start there.
Update (June 6): On Saturday, players gathered in the Tower to watch Rasputin destroy The Almighty. The event started at 1 p.m. ET, with NPCs like Zavala, Shaxx, Ikora, and some random Tower citizens looking into the sky and pointing. The Almighty ship nearly eclipsed the sun.

Thirty minutes later, red missiles from Rasputin appeared in the sky above the giant ship, with more missiles appearing below as time went on. As the missiles started to impact on the ship, tiny explosions appeared around the hull. An hour and a half after the event started, the core of The Almighty burst into flames and streaked across the sky, landing in the mountains behind The Last City (where you can see a smoldering crater).

A small piece of debris crashed into the tower, between the Eververse and Zavala. Inspecting the crash site earns players the
Seraph’s Wings emblem. Now that Rasputin destroyed The Almighty, Commander Zavala also has something new to say. It’s currently unclear how long players will have to collect their emblem.

Is this game worth playing alone?

Sent from Mobile
The core Destiny 2 campaign is free to play on Steam now, worth a shot maybe.

But then again I'm the guy who finished Division 2's campaign Solo, so my opinion might be different than yours :p

Going forward, any kind of crossplay must include the option to filter out PC. I'd love to play with friends who play on Xbox, but will have to disable crossplay altogether if such an option is not provided. Just as I did in Modern Warfare. Would be a shame.

I will forward your plea to Bungie. They will surely alter thier whole infrastructure to cater to console players who feel threatened by the big bad underworld of shady PC gamers who spoil all the fun with superior IQ.

Bungie listened. Crossplay is console-only unless invited into a PC lobby. Bungie gets what Activision don't 🤷‍♂️
