Playstation Demon's Souls 2 Listed For The PS4 By Retailer

Demon's Souls sequel heading to PlayStation 4?

A listing for Demon's Souls 2 on PlayStation 4 has appeared on the website of European retailer CDON.com.

The unannounced game was spotted on the retailer's website this morning. CDON previously outed Gran Turismo 6 for release on PS3 weeks prior to the game's official announcement.

The listing follows comments from SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, who told Polygon during E3 that he would "really like to see more" Demon's Souls.

"That's a great question, but because of the attention that will get, I choose not to answer," he replied, when asked whether Sony was interested in developing a sequel. "But personally, I love Demon's Souls. I spent hours and hours and hours [playing it]."

"I love the team, I love the game and yeah, I'd really like to see more. But that's all that I will say."

SCEJ published Demon's Souls in Japan in early 2009, with the European publishing rights picked up by Namco Bandai a year later.

Namco later went on to release spiritual successor Dark Souls, with a sequel due to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next March.

While it's certainly possible Demon's Souls 2 could be headed to PS4, CDON also lists Microsoft-exclusive Dead Rising 3 for release on Sony's console. Yoshida's comments give us hope, but it's best to take this with a pinch of salt until confirmed.

Wasn't there also some recent speculation that Demon's Souls was getting a sequel due to a product description that sounded exactly like DS? If this is true, than it's fantastic news though I really hope it also comes out to the PC as well. Plus, this could be one of the ideal games Sony could announce at TGS.

The game that seemed to resemble Demon's Souls description was Destiny of Spirits which has now been announced as a free to play title for the Vita. The description was made up by some user on 4chan according to some sources.

With all the talk that's been surrounding a Demon's Souls sequel at E3, along with Yoshida's interview regarding the series where he said he'd love to see more of it, plus Miyazaki's secret project (high chances of it being this) and now a listing for Demon's Souls 2 on a retailer website. I am almost completely convinced that this is legit. And it's most likely going to be a PlayStation Exclusive (probably made especially for the PS4). Sony owns the IP so it's not gonna be on any other platform other than the PS4 (maybe a PS3 version).

Now it's all just a matter of waiting until Sony themselves unveils it officially. With the official announcement my PS4 purchase will be written in blood and its prophesied time will hasten.

Agreed, it also explains why they didn't put Dark Souls 2 on the next gen consoles as well because if Demon Souls 2 is a PS4 exclusive then that will help from feeling somewhat like the series is being cannibalized.

tbh thats something very obvious from the start, but I cant put my money on some random retailer comon Sony open your bag and show us how many cats do you have.
