To be honest. Respect them follow them if u can. And if u cant just keep it with ur ownself. Its we who need them. They dont need us they are already chosen one and blessed

I think it's more of their tape-recorder style that puts me off, otherwise I read Islamic books regularly, and watch Mufti Akmal on QTV buht shauk se!

But still, I think you should respect them, and just TALK to them like a mature person, or just tell them I can be here for 5 mins. or whatever you want to say, but dont lie.
It's their "GHERNAY WALA STYLE" that really irks me. I mean ... if you want to invite somebody to religion, do it with WISDOM and intellect. You have to talk at the level of the person you are talking to, not just turn on your latest BluRay ratta byaan and expect the other person to respond, duh!

Lekin phir bhi ... I think they are sincere in their ways, and want good for you/all of us. We must treat all with respect, whether we agree with them or not.

We are all too stuck in our own little worlds that when someone different walks into it, we find it very uncomfortable. However, if you are intelligent enough, you'll allow for other point of views in your life ... but to agree or disagree is ur choice! (as long as it's not against Shariah).

Nothing to fear from them. They are good people indeed... But sometimes ringing a doorbell at odd time (everyone has different routine) can annoy you so much.

Easiest Solution is to attend them, listen to kind words they say, and tell them that you'll try your best to join them. It's logical for them to think that you have commitments so they wouldn't mind. And it wouldn't be wise for them too to invite you for a field trip by force, are you this nimble and easily manipulated ?

What I personally think is though their invitations are honest. But When you go solely to show them you care, it voids the "sawab" factor.

Let me elaborate it in very clear words. Islam is all about "Niyyat", then comes action. If in any way your actions are to show off how good muslim you are, then my friend I feel sorry for you.

So handle them with politeness, Thanks them for invitation and tell them that you'll pray for their good journey.

Two types of them actually, One group is always polite elders from your Colony, Mohalla, lane etc inviting you to sit with them after (Normally Maghrib) Prayer to share some good words, It's never more than 20 minutes.

Then comes those who are as you say "Ghernay wala style", I am never in favor of those. Specially in current times when anything can happen.

I used to simply go, uncle abu ghar nahi, or uncle abu ghar hain and let my dad deal with them.

At times, they used to say baita ap bat tou sunain, and then I just used to nod my head and say bilkul at everything they say.
