Its probably the power circuit board of the HDD which is fried, in which case you can get it changed ... provided you find one compatible with yours.

Bad luck struck me yesterday.
A virus had infected all of my friend's OS and drives so I decided to copy all data from non system drives to an internal hd (enclosed in one of those SATA to USB enclosures). The data was successfully backed up, drives formatted, OS reinstalled. Then I scanned the internal hd which contained the data. After a while I plugged it into the laptop with the new OS but it wasn't detected. Now I've tried on 3 difference systems. Even on Ubuntu. Tried using SATA converter cables as well. The hard drive just isn't getting detected. Lost aorund 200 gigs of really important data.
Any way of recovering it?

Great job, my friend. I think your guide will help a lot. Although I recently tried to restore the file itself from my damaged hard drive, I didn't succeed. The only correct option for me in that situation turned out to be to contact a company that repairs hard drives and data recovery -- salvagedata.com because I could not do anything. However, I really needed the data on my broken hard drive. Everything was there, important files for work, study, and family photos, which are very important. So thank you, and good luck, my man.
