Woah talk about bad luck :D
A 128bit 9800GT? Friggin hilarious :tv:

Ahsan those guys are really nice whenever i buy stuff from them. Really.

My friend, here in Wah Cantt, bought a PC from them on my recommendation (online purchase). He bought an inno3D 9800GT. The card gave up after a few months. He got a GTS 250 in replacement... Its a pretty good card. He had to pay the difference of course.

Well, I guess they'll give you the 256bit version on Monday.

Want me to send them a mail? :p

EDIT: Just sent a long txt to Junaid @ Galaxy, the guy i normally deal with, mentioned this incident.

@ASK

Well ... I got the 9800GT from Graphics Mansion, galaxys distributor. He was to get the EVGA card today, he sent his guy but the person wasnt given the card *merey samnay baat ki so I know I wasnt being fooled*

Whats amazing me and pissing me off really bad is why the hell did Galaxy supply a 128bit 9800GT. I really would have not mind a proper 9800GT 256bit from XFX! But ... a 128bit 9800GT ... WTF! Why ? Im all happy I plug in my card, I get GPU-Z and its showing me a 128bit bus and basically eveyrthing lower than what I expect from an XFX 9800GT 256bit AS stated on the website!

The authorized distributor is very nice, he took back the 9800GT without saying anything! Why did Galaxy actually supply them a 128bit card is beyond me! If not me then whoever gets that 9800GT 128bit card is getting ripped off real bad!

@fajjo

Main bheta rahunga ... eVGA laykar rahunga!

@dark

Im very sure bro. The fact that it didnt have a 6pin connector made me wonder wtf! The card was G92, 65nm, 96 SPs, 128bit mem bus, 580/1400/700 clocks ... its fillrates and bandwithhs were LESSER than my HD-4670 :\ ...

Have a look at these

Apparently there are 128bit versions ... not too sure about them but definately non 6pin connector ones!

@necro

Look closely in the second picture. You will clearly see the absence of the 6pin. I was too pissed off to take GPU-Z pics ! Sorry!

okay. putting 2 and 2 together:

128bit memory and 96sp's is actually a 9600GT, someone changed the stickers on the damn card. also, a 96gt doesnt need the 6pin PCIe power connector. moreover the card in the pic on page 1 is freaking small for a 98gt, a 98gt is a rather long card, length-wise.

therefore what you brought home was actually a 96gt, with a 9800gt dabba on the outside and a 9800gt sticker on it. talk about messed up!

@dark

Nope. GPU-Z clearly said G92! And it may look small in the pic but it was a 9800GT. 9600GT isnt 128bit either mate ... :S

It was one strange card! I wish I had taken a GPU-Z pic ... sab clear hojata!

Good decision :wink2:

That was actually revenge from XFX for all the bad things you have been saying about their cards :p

9600GT is a 256-bit card and it does not have 96sp. It actually has only 64sp.

a 96gt doesnt need the 6pin PCIe power connector
9600GT DOES require a 6-pin PCIe power connector.

I don't know what sort of 9600GT you have seen. Must have bought it from Galaxy computers :lol:

Its looks more like a DARKER version of the 8500gt.. Have you tested out the card Ahsan??
GPU-Z tested. RivaTuner tested (and o/c'ed :p) ... its bigger than a 9600GT. Anyways, its history now ... lets see when I get the proper 9800GT, from a proper vendor like eVGA ... not exx-aaf-exx!

GPU-Z stated this as a G92 Rev A2, 96 SP, 8 ROC, 128bit.
