Screen story and characters (with the exception of one supporting role - which ultimately was also approved by CDPR) are not written by Trigger. Locations, weapons and nearly all the music is lifted directly from the game. All the UI is also lifted from the game. Heck, two of the most popular tracks that came out of Edgerunners are originally scored by a Polish artist and taken from the game's OST.

Not to take anything away from the amazing work done by Studio Trigger in preserving the game's adaptation. At the end of the day its "CREATED" by Rafal Jaki and produced by CDPR. At the end of the day, it's based on CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077

Watched 3 episodes of edgerunners. Animation takes an episode to get used to but so far it's faring much better than my expectations for a Netflix anime based off a video game

While CDPR deserves a lot of the credit for why Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the new Netflix anime, is so good, given that they created the world and wrote the script, they almost made a pretty huge blunder.
