Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese animated series created in 1998. The series' art direction centers around American music and counterculture, especially the beat and jazz movements of the 1940s-60s and the early rock era of the 1950s-70s.The crew of the spaceship Bebop are a partnership of bounty hunters, called "cowboys", who travel the solar system trying to apprehend bounties.Most episodes revolve around attempts to bring in a specific bounty. Some of the Bebop's varied targets include small time thugs, gangsters, hackers (known as "net divers" in slang), religious leaders, psychopaths, genetic experiments, mutant creatures and petty thieves. Occasionally the Bebop crews' pasts catch up with them, and the show regularly views the history of the main characters and more general past events, in flashbacks. For example, Spike's past as an assassin for the syndicate appears in a number of episodes.
In this series there are 5 bounty hunters whose group name is Bebop. The crew includes Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV (short form ED) and a dog name Ein.
Spike is the main character He is very laid back, sarcastic, and lackadaisical, to the consternation of his crew mates. Spike's philosophy seems to be based on the ancient samurai ideals of immediacy, such as considering oneself as dead and the idea of death being an awakening from a dream. His favorite habit is smoking, as shown in the anime he smokes a lot.
The main villain in the series is Vicious. This guy is ruthless, bloodthirsty, cunning and ambitious. Considered by some to be Spike's darker half, he is willing to do anything in order to secure a position of power. Fate says that Spike is the only one to kill him and Vicious is the only one to kill Spike.
